What Movie, Music & Munch is

This is a short run of musical-themed screenings at GSC's premium Aurum Theatre in TRX. All four films lean on their soundtracks, which is the point: when the movie ends, the hall turns into a sing-along. The bundle then adds food and a keepsake poster, so the evening is closer to a themed dinner show than a normal cinema trip.

Here is every session GSC lists, with the price per person:

  • La La Land, 2D, RM79: Fri 9 Oct 9.30pm; Sat 10 Oct 10am, 4pm and 7pm; Sun 11 Oct 1.30pm and 4.30pm; Sat 17 Oct 1.40pm and 7.15pm.
  • La La Land, Escape Studio, RM165: Fri 9 Oct 8pm; Sat 10 Oct 2.45pm and 9.15pm; Sun 11 Oct 2.45pm.
  • La La Land, Comfort Cabin, RM175: Sun 11 Oct 6.30pm (one session only).
  • Michael, Escape Studio, RM165: Sat 10 Oct 8pm (one session only).
  • Wicked, IMAX, RM99: Sat 10 Oct 1pm.
  • Wicked: For Good, IMAX, RM99: Sun 11 Oct 12.10pm.

GSC's promo page names 18 October among the dates, but its session table lists nothing for that day. We have treated 17 October as the last screening.

What each bundle includes

Every bundle has five parts: one movie ticket for one person, one sing-along after the movie, one food item, one A3 poster and one free-flow soft drink. The food is where the tiers differ.

  • 2D and IMAX get a thematic buffet spread, served one hour before the film at The Cellar, Level 1.
  • Escape Studio and Comfort Cabin get a La La Land inspired high tea set, served one hour before the film at Kissa Cafe & Diner.

GSC's page also lists the La La Land high tea for the Michael session. That looks like a copied line, so if the menu matters to you, ask GSC before paying.

How to book

  1. Open the Movie, Music & Munch page on gsc.com.my or in the GSC app and pick the film, hall and session.
  2. Pay the bundle price. It is sold as one item. GSC says the poster and food cannot be bought on their own or swapped into another combo.
  3. Arrive one hour early. Your buffet or high tea is served an hour before the film, so a 7pm show means a 6pm table.
  4. Stay for the credits. The sing-along happens after the movie, inside the bundle you already paid for.

What it costs: worked examples

  • Couple, La La Land 2D: 2 x RM79 = RM158 for two buffets, two films, two posters and drinks all night.
  • Wicked double bill: Wicked at 1pm Saturday and Wicked: For Good at 12.10pm Sunday, 2 x RM99 = RM198 per person, with two buffets and two posters.
  • Escape Studio date: 2 x RM165 = RM330 for La La Land with two high tea sets.
  • Comfort Cabin: RM175 is priced per person, so a couple pays RM350 for the 11 October 6.30pm show.

For context, when we checked Aurum TRX's ordinary Wednesday prices on 17 September 2026, a 2D seat was RM40, IMAX RM55 and an Escape Studio seat RM115, each with one food item and one drink. So you are paying roughly RM40 to RM50 extra per head for the buffet or high tea, the poster, unlimited drinks and the sing-along, plus a weekend slot.

Who it suits, and who should skip it

It suits musical fans, couples looking for a date night in TRX, and friend groups who want to belt out "City of Stars" or "Defying Gravity" together. The RM79 La La Land 2D bundle is the clear value pick, since it still includes a buffet.

Skip it if you just want to see the film. These are re-runs and a plain ticket elsewhere costs far less. Skip it too if you were planning to stack your GSC credit card discount, because bank and payment gateway promotions are excluded.

Free live band on 10-11 October

On Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October, 9pm to midnight, The Cellar on Level 1 hosts a live band and dance floor. GSC says entry is free for screening customers and the general public. If you book the 9.15pm Escape Studio show on 10 October, you will miss most of it. An afternoon session followed by the band is the better plan.

Fine print that trips people up

  • First come, first served. Single sessions like the Comfort Cabin and Michael shows will sell out first.
  • No bank or payment gateway promotions, and no staff discount.
  • No cash value. The poster and F&B cannot be exchanged for cash, transferred or substituted.
  • Internet trouble is your risk. GSC does not take responsibility for a failed online purchase.
  • GSC can change or cancel the promotion and its mechanics without notice.
