> Quick view: GSC converted its largest hall at Mid Valley Megamall into an IMAX with Laser cinema, and it opened on 5 November 2026. Logged-in GSC Rewards members pay RM30.50 instead of RM38.50, and each tier gets a reward ticket offer on top. The price is the easy part. The reward ticket arrives after you pay, and GSC leaves several of its rules unstated, so read that section before you book for a group.
What GSC is offering
The new hall is Hall 18 at GSC Mid Valley Megamall, with 4K laser projection and a 12-channel sound system. Godzilla Minus Zero is its first film. When we read GSC's booking page on 5 November, the IMAX sessions that day were at 11.15am, 2pm and 8.30pm. The film runs 2 hours 15 minutes and is classified 16.
GSC's offer page lists three parts:
- Introductory price: RM30.50, down from RM38.50, applied automatically at checkout.
- 3x GSCoins: credited after your IMAX purchase, for the first 3,000 members only.
- Reward tickets by tier: buy 1 free 1 for Platinum, buy 2 free 1 for Gold and buy 3 free 1 for Silver.
The page gives no promotion period, although GSC's Godzilla offers on the same site do print their dates. Treat the price as temporary. An introductory price can end without notice, and GSC reserves the right to change the terms at any time.
How to book it
- Open the GSC app or website and log in to your GSC Rewards account. New members start at Silver.
- Choose GSC Mid Valley Megamall and an IMAX session, then pick your seats.
- Check that the price shows RM30.50 before you pay. The offer requires you to be logged in before you complete the transaction.
- After paying, look in your Rewards Centre for the reward ticket.
We could not see the checkout without logging in to an account, so the RM30.50 here comes from GSC's offer page and not from a live booking.
What it costs: worked examples
These use the RM30.50 price and assume a reward ticket covers the extra person.
- One person, any tier: RM30.50, saving RM8 on the original price.
- Two people, Silver: RM61, saving RM16. Two tickets do not reach Silver's buy 3 free 1.
- Two people, Platinum: buy one at RM30.50 and use the free ticket, so about RM15.25 each.
- Three people, Gold: buy two for RM61 and use the free ticket, so about RM20.33 each.
- Four people, Silver: buy three for RM91.50 and use the free ticket, so about RM22.88 each. At the original price, four tickets would cost RM154.
The reward ticket is the part to read twice
GSC's poster advertises "B1F1 IMAX Tickets", while its terms only say that reward ticket entitlements go to your Rewards Centre once you buy. Neither says how long the reward stays valid, or whether Gold and Silver members must buy their two or three tickets in one transaction.
Because the reward arrives after payment, you cannot expect to use it in the same checkout. For a group, that means the free seat is booked separately, and it may not be beside the others if the session is filling up. Quieter sessions make this less of a risk. Before you invite a fourth friend on the strength of it, open the reward and read its own conditions.
Godzilla extras on 7 and 8 November
Two launch offers at this hall have fixed dates. Sunday 8 November is also Deepavali, so expect a busy weekend.
- A3 poster: buy a ticket under the "(GUARANTEED POSTER)" listing for 7 November at 11.15am or 8.30pm, or 8 November at 2pm or 8.30pm. Redeem it at the GSC check point during your own show. GSC does not say whether RM30.50 applies to these listings, so check the price before paying.
- Fan screening: Saturday 7 November at 2pm, RM119 for one ticket, a buffet spread, a Godzilla tumbler, two A3 posters and one A1 poster. For scale, GSC sells a Godzilla Aqua Tumbler alone for RM49 on Keepsake Online, though it does not say this is the same one. The fan screening page says bank and payment gateway promotions do not apply.
Who should book, and who should skip
Good for: anyone who lives near Mid Valley and wants a big-format film at close to an ordinary ticket price, Platinum members, and groups of three or four willing to make a second booking.
Do not chase a higher tier for this. Gold takes RM250 of spending in a year, which is nine IMAX tickets at RM30.50, and Platinum takes RM1,000, or 33 tickets. If you are already close, GSC says upgrades happen automatically, and reaching a tier in 2026 keeps it until 31 December 2027. That is the better reason to top up.
Skip it if you want food and a better seat. Aurum Theatre at The Exchange TRX sells a Comfort Cabin or Escape Studio seat at RM79 on weekdays from 2 November to 11 December, including one snack and one drink, with public holidays and eve-of-holiday shows after 6pm excluded.
You may have a closer IMAX. GSC also lists IMAX halls at IOI Mall Damansara, KL East Mall, IOI City Mall 2 and Aurum TRX, and TGV has one at Pavilion Damansara Heights. This offer applies only at Mid Valley. Newswav reported that IOI Mall Damansara opened in July at RM28.50, down from RM36.50, so Mid Valley's prices are not automatically the lowest. We did not re-check IOI's current price.
Getting there
GSC Mid Valley Megamall is at Lot T-001 on the 3rd Floor. GSC's parking tip is Zone G, Level 5, which gives direct access to the cinema floor. GSC says every hall is wheelchair-friendly except Halls 6, 7, 14 and 15, so Hall 18 is not among the exceptions.
Fine print that trips people up
- Tickets and member rewards cannot be refunded, exchanged for cash or combined with other ongoing discounts or promo codes.
- The offer covers IMAX with Laser sessions at Mid Valley only, not GSC's other IMAX halls.
- The 3x GSCoins stop after the first 3,000 members, and the offer page shows no running count.
- GSC's cinema page says tickets are non-exchangeable, so check the date and session before paying.
