> Quick view: Harvey Norman has run no Penang-only campaign since 7 October 2026, when the Sunshine Central Limited Time Price Slash and the Penang In-Store Warehouse Clearance both ended. What Penang buyers get now is the nationwide Big Upgrades, Bigger Savings sale, 12 October to 4 November 2026, in-store at all five Penang stores and online. We re-priced the slash products on harveynorman.com.my on 22 October. The Galaxy S26 FE is still RM500 below the old store price, the TV and soundbar extras have come back as instant rebates, and the furniture and mattress slash prices have not come back at all.

This page first priced both Penang campaigns while they ran, then re-priced the same products on 8 October, the day after they ended. This third version answers the question two weeks on: with the store sale over, which products are worth buying in Penang before 4 November, and which ones should wait for the next store campaign?

What ended, and what replaced it

  • Sunshine Central Limited Time Price Slash: in-store only at Harvey Norman Sunshine Central, Ayer Itam, 24 September to 7 October 2026. 20 products billed up to 80% off; the real cuts ran 9.7% to 76.6%. It was the store's second run, after 27 August to 9 September.
  • Penang In-Store Warehouse Clearance: all five Penang stores plus online, 1 to 7 October 2026, billed up to 75% off.

Nothing Penang-specific has replaced them. On 22 October Harvey Norman's catalogues-and-promotions page links about 40 live campaigns. The only single-store campaign among them is a free-parking offer at Berjaya Megamall Kuantan. The Big Home Appliances Upgrade Sale (8 to 21 October), which the previous version of this page listed for Penang, has ended and dropped off the index.

Big Upgrades, Bigger Savings: how it works

The terms on Harvey Norman's campaign page say the sale is valid in-store and online from 12 October to 4 November 2026, so it applies at all five Penang stores. It stacks four layers on top of each product's marked-down price:

  1. Instant cashback on selected products, billed up to RM18,000 at the top end. Online, the terms say it is deducted at checkout as an instant rebate, so it does not show in the listed price.
  2. Tech Upgrade Rewards: RM50 off every RM2,500 spent, on selected audio and mobile products only.
  3. Sweet Dreams Rewards: up to RM400 off bedding with a minimum spend of RM3,000.
  4. Home Essentials Rewards: an extra 10% off every RM500 spent on selected products.

Touch 'n Go eWallet credit, billed up to RM5,000, is offered on selected models from participating brands. There is also a 20% discount for upgrading selected fabric sofas to the leather version. Each product page shows which rider it carries, so read the tag line under the product name before you count on one.

The slash products on 22 October

All 12 products in the table above carry the Big Upgrades tag. Three patterns stand out.

The phone is still cheaper than the slash. Sunshine Central sold the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE 8GB/256GB for RM3,299 with a free table fan. On 22 October it is RM2,799 online in all three colours, and the listing adds the RM50-off-every-RM2,500 rider. If that applies at checkout, it is RM2,749, which is RM550 below the store price. The difference from 8 October is the end date: the price used to be tagged to 11 October, and now it is tagged to 4 November.

The TV and soundbar extras came back. The slash gave a RM350 voucher with the Philips 65PUT7330 TV and 5% cashback on the JBL Cinema SB550 soundbar. On 8 October both extras were gone. On 22 October the TV listing again says "Enjoy RM350 Instant Rebate" at RM2,297, and the soundbar listing carries JBL Soundbar Double Up's 5% instant rebate, which JBL's own terms on the Harvey Norman site run to 31 October 2026. At RM1,047, 5% is about RM52. Neither rebate is shown in the listed price, so confirm both in the cart or with staff at the counter.

Small appliances are steady, and the microwave is still the outlier. The Elba air cooler (RM339), Philips tower fan (RM309) and Cornell grill hotpot (RM299) have not moved since 8 October. The Tefal RK-7321 rice cooker has dropped back to RM188. The Panasonic 20L microwave is still RM359. The store sold it for RM132, and nothing online has come close.

Furniture and bedding: the riders help, but not much

These are Harvey Norman house-range products at the brand's own list prices, which the slash cut by 63% to 77%. On 22 October:

  • Van Vorst Spine Pro queen mattress: RM3,151.40. It clears Sweet Dreams' RM3,000 minimum. Even if it gets the full RM400 off, it costs RM2,751.40, which is RM1,252 more than the RM1,499 slash price.
  • Musterring Back Tech Firm queen mattress: RM4,159.40. After the full RM400 off it is RM3,759.40, or RM1,460 more than the RM2,299 slash price.
  • Van Vorst Cool Max queen mattress: RM3,849.40, unchanged since 8 October. It also carries the Biggest Double Savings tag, an additional up to 20% off, but only with a RM7,000 minimum spend, to 28 October.
  • Pete easy-clean recliner: RM3,496 for the 3-seater and RM2,496 for the 2-seater, RM5,992 for the pair. The 3-seater also carries Furniture That Fits Your Lifestyle, 10% off plus a RM100 instant rebate for every RM2,000 spent, to 28 October. Applied to the 3-seater alone, that is about RM450 off, still well above the slash's RM2,991 for the 3+2 set.

"Up to RM400" is a ceiling. Harvey Norman does not publish the tiers, so read our figures as best cases.

The old clearance's headline items

Three of the bigger appliances from the ended Penang clearance have held their price for two weeks and now sit under Big Upgrades:

  • Hisense 780L four-door PureFlex fridge (RQ-640P5GW): RM3,911 (was RM7,299)
  • Elba Monza designer hood plus built-in induction hob: RM2,298 (was RM3,998)
  • Haier 1.0HP UV Cool Smart+ inverter aircon (HS-10VRB06): RM1,359 (was RM2,069)

For a cheaper 1.0HP inverter, the Hisense AS10E4KAA is RM998 (was RM1,159), also under Big Upgrades, RM361 less than the Haier. Installation is quoted separately on both.

Worked examples

The small-appliance trio. The microwave, tower fan and air cooler cost RM720 together at Sunshine Central. On 22 October they cost RM1,007 online (RM359 + RM309 + RM339). That clears RM500 for the Home Essentials extra 10%, but the three listings do not show that rider, so do not count on it. Missing the slash cost about RM287, and nearly all of that is the microwave.

Phone plus laptop. The Galaxy S26 FE (RM2,799) and the HP 15-FC0796AU (RM2,799) both carry the Tech Upgrade rider. Together that is RM5,598, which is two RM2,500 blocks, so if both qualify you get RM100 off, or RM5,498. At Sunshine Central the same pair cost RM6,098.

A TV and soundbar bundle. The Philips 65-inch TV plus the JBL SB550 list at RM3,344. With the advertised RM350 rebate and the 5% JBL rebate (about RM52), the cart should come to about RM2,942. That is close to what the slash charged, RM3,344 less the RM350 voucher and the 5% cashback, and this time you can buy at any of the five Penang stores or online.

Who should buy now, and who should wait

Buy before 4 November if you want the Galaxy S26 FE, the Philips TV and JBL soundbar pair (the JBL rebate ends 31 October), or one of the big appliances above. Those prices have held for two weeks and are now tagged to a fixed end date.

Wait if you wanted the mattresses or the Pete recliners. Even with every rider, they are RM1,250 to RM3,000 above what Sunshine Central charged. The store has run its slash twice, in late August and late September. Harvey Norman has not announced a third round, so the earliest place to look is the index in early November, when Big Upgrades ends.

Fine print

  • Online prices were read from Harvey Norman Malaysia's own product search on 8 and 22 October 2026. Ended store prices come from the Sunshine Central campaign artwork. Prices move with campaign tags, so confirm the model number and the cart total before you pay.
  • Rebates are taken off at checkout, not in the listed price. That covers the RM350 TV rebate, the 5% JBL rebate, the RM50-per-RM2,500 rider and the bedding RM400. Check the cart, or ask in-store, before you assume one applies.
  • Stock is limited, and Harvey Norman can amend any campaign without notice, according to its terms. If an online order turns out to be out of stock, the terms allow it to cancel and refund within 14 working days.
