> Quick view: the "buy a Family Weekend Combo, get a free Chicky Meal" deal is over. As of 2 September 2026 there is no Family Weekend Combo anywhere on KFC Malaysia's own ordering system — not on its promotions page, and not among the 290 items in its live menu. What is running instead: the RM5 Menu Rahmah combo on weekday afternoons, 25% off Cheezy Twister every Tuesday, 30% off a Zinger Classic Combo late at night, and member-only bundles up to 52% off.

The free Chicky Meal deal has ended

Our earlier version of this article described a weekend promotion — buy a Family Weekend Combo A or B from RM39.90, get a free Chicky Meal Combo for your child, every Friday to Sunday. That deal was never given a published end date, and it has now quietly disappeared.

Two checks on KFC Malaysia's own systems on 2 September 2026 confirm it:

  • It is not on KFC's promotions page. The live promotions list carries thirteen offer cards. None of them is a Family Weekend Combo, and none of them is a kids-eat-free mechanic.
  • The product no longer exists. KFC Malaysia's ordering system publishes its full catalogue — 290 items with live prices. Searching every product name for "family" or "weekend" returns nothing at all. The combo has been withdrawn, not merely un-promoted.

For the record, the freebie that deal gave away was a Chicky Meal Combo, which KFC still sells today at RM14.49. It is built as a main item plus a required side order plus a drink, with an Iced Milo (S) carried at RM0 — i.e. included in the price rather than an upcharge. Combos A, B, C and D are all RM14.49; the letters change the main, not the price. So the old promotion was worth RM14.49 off a spend of RM39.90 or more.

Every KFC Malaysia promotion running right now

Thirteen cards, nine of them with a real discount attached. The prices below are read directly from KFC's ordering system, not from a poster.

Three of the nine are member-exclusive bundles — the artwork is badged "KFC MEMBERS' EXCLUSIVE" and the promotions page tags them "App Only". You need to be logged in to see those prices at all. They also carry a points multiplier: 3x points on delivery, 2x on dine-in and self-collect.

Two more are the Late Night Hero pair: 30% off a Zinger Classic Combo from 10pm to 11.59pm, and a Midnight version running 12am to 2am. Both are delivery-only and, importantly, tagged "Selected Stores" — more on what that actually means below.

One is Twister Tuesday: 25% off a Cheezy Twister, Tuesdays only, and this one is available on delivery, dine-in and self-collect alike. The arithmetic checks out exactly — RM17.49 less 25% is RM13.12.

There is also Kombo Jimat Duo, a gift-with-purchase that unlocks on orders from RM40 via delivery or self-collect.

The RM5 Menu Rahmah is the best value on the menu

The single cheapest way to eat at KFC is not a promotion in the marketing sense at all — it is Menu Rahmah, the government-backed cost-of-living combo, and it is still running.

  • RM5 per combo
  • One piece of chicken (choose signature original or hot and spicy), a butterscotch bun, and a bottle of mineral water
  • Weekdays, 2pm to 5pm only
  • Dine-in and self-collect only — it does not appear on the delivery channel
  • Limited to 4 combos per customer, per transaction, per the promotional artwork
  • Available at all outlets except airports, Genting Highlands and Legoland, per KFC's own announcement of the programme

That exclusion list matters and is almost never quoted: if you were planning to use it at KLIA or on a Genting day trip, you cannot. The same RM5 Menu Rahmah also runs at Pizza Hut, which shares a parent company with KFC.

The catch nobody mentions: KFC prices by delivery tier

Here is the finding that explains a lot of confusion about KFC pricing in Malaysia. KFC's ordering system does not run one national price list. It runs eight delivery pricing tiers and thirteen self-collect tiers, and the same item can cost materially different amounts in each.

Checked across tiers on 2 September 2026:

  • Zinger Classic Combo: RM14.99 to RM21.99 depending on tier — a RM7.00 spread, 47%, on an identical product
  • Colonel Classic Combo: RM10.99 to RM16.49
  • Chicky Meal Combo A: RM10.99 to RM14.99
  • Nasi Lemak KFC: RM6.99 to RM12.49

You do not choose your tier. It follows from the outlet serving your address, which is why the price your friend quotes may simply not be the price you are shown.

This has three consequences worth understanding before you chase a discount:

"Selected Stores" means selected tiers. The Late Night 30% offer is present in delivery tiers 1, 2 and 4, and absent entirely from tiers 6 and 8 and from self-collect. It is not that some branches opt out — whole pricing tiers never see the offer.

The same "30% off" is not the same money. In tier 1 the Zinger Classic Combo is RM20.99 and the late-night price is RM14.69. In tier 2 the same combo is RM21.99 and the same 30% lands at RM15.39.

The headline discount can be worth almost nothing. In tiers 6, 7 and 8 the Zinger Classic Combo is already RM14.99 every day under KFC's standing "Jimat Hari-Hari" everyday menu — where the Colonel Classic Combo sits at RM10.99. That is within 30 sen of what the heavily advertised late-night promotion gets you in tier 1, without staying up until midnight. The 30% offer largely brings the expensive tiers down to what the cheap tiers already pay all day.

Self-collect is cheaper than delivery, twice over. On the member sets, self-collect Tier 1 pays RM9.49 for Set Baru Nak Lapar against RM9.99 on delivery, RM27.99 for Set Burgermbira against RM28.99, and RM38.99 for the 5-pc Malaysian Bucket against RM39.99. The "before" prices are lower too — RM16.98 rather than RM19.48 — which means the advertised "up to 50% off" is calculated against delivery-inflated base prices.

Who each deal suits, and who should skip

  • Feeding a family cheaply on a weekday: Menu Rahmah at RM5, between 2pm and 5pm, dine-in or self-collect. Nothing else on the menu is close. Four-combo cap per transaction.
  • A kids' meal: the free Chicky Meal route is gone. The nearest live substitute is the Chicky Share Plate at RM21.99 (from RM32.97), though it is delivery-only.
  • Ordering for a group: the member bundles are the real savings — Set Burgermbira at RM28.99 from RM60.45 is the deepest cut on the board at 52%. Log in first, and choose self-collect if you can.
  • A cheap solo meal: Set Baru Nak Lapar at RM9.99 (RM9.49 on self-collect), or the everyday Jimat Hari-Hari Colonel Classic Combo at RM10.99.
  • Skip the late-night 30% if your outlet already prices the Zinger Classic Combo at RM14.99. You would save 30 sen, on delivery only, in a two-hour window.

Fine print

  • Prices above are read from KFC Malaysia's own ordering system on 2 September 2026, at Delivery Tier 1 unless stated. Your tier may differ — check in the app before you commit.
  • Member-exclusive prices require you to be logged in to a KFC account. Guests are shown the undiscounted price.
  • Promotion line-ups rotate. Treat this as a snapshot verified on 2 September 2026 rather than a permanent list.
  • Menu Rahmah's outlet exclusions come from KFC's own announcement of the programme; the RM5 price and the four-combo cap are from the current promotional artwork.
