> Quick view, re-checked 6 September 2026: of the two Merdeka offers, only one is still alive. The Grand Merdeka Fish Head Feast at Roselle Coffee House, Grand Lexis Port Dickson, runs to 20 September 2026 — a whole fish head, curry or asam pedas, with rice, ulam, salted egg and dessert, RM58 nett, daily 12pm to 10pm. The Kidz World Merdeka Fun Package ends today, Sunday 6 September, and nothing has replaced it on the Lexis Hibiscus offers index. Meanwhile a third offer that neither Merdeka poster mentions closes tonight: Lexis Golden Deals at MATTA Fair, Booth 1Q25, MITEC Kuala Lumpur, 4 to 6 September, until 9:00pm — e-Room Vouchers from RM200 nett, valid a full year from purchase. Every price, date and address below is read off the campaign brochures, the resorts' own offer pages and the group's own terms and conditions PDFs.

Most Merdeka hotel promotions are a room rate with a flag on it. These two were not. Neither Port Dickson property put a Merdeka rate on a room, and what they sold instead was a shared meal and an afternoon of supervised craft. That made them easier to judge than a staycation package, because there was nothing to compare against a shifting rack rate — only a number and a list of what it includes.

A week into September the picture has changed twice over. The craft package has run its course, the fish head feast has a fortnight left, and the real room discount at these resorts turned out not to be a Merdeka offer at all. It is a travel-fair voucher sale that has been running quietly alongside both posters, it is worth up to 32%, and it closes at nine o'clock tonight. That one is dealt with in full below, because it is the only item here with serious money in it.

Three resorts, three Roselle Coffee Houses, one easy mistake

Lexis Hotel Group has three properties in Port Dickson, not two, and all three belong to Kuala Lumpur Metro Group. Locals treat them as one place. They are not.

  • Grand Lexis Port Dickson — Batu 2, Jalan Seremban, 71000 Port Dickson, the town end. This is where the fish head feast is.
  • Lexis Port Dickson — the older water-chalet resort, and its own website publishes the same street address: Batu 2, Jalan Seremban, 71000. It is Grand Lexis's neighbour, not a separate part of town.
  • Lexis Hibiscus Port Dickson — 12th Mile, Jalan Pantai, 71250 Pasir Panjang, out on the hibiscus-shaped reclaimed peninsula, roughly ten miles down the coast on Port Dickson's mile-marker system. This is where Kidz World is.

So the confusion is worse than "two resorts ten miles apart". Two of the three sit at the same address, and the one that is ten miles away is the one that had the children's offer.

Then there is the restaurant problem, and the group's own MATTA terms and conditions spell out how bad it is. Lexis operates three restaurants called Roselle Coffee House — at Lexis Hibiscus Port Dickson, at Grand Lexis Port Dickson, and at Lexis Suites Penang. Only the fourth breakfast outlet on that list carries a different name: Aqua Coffee House at Lexis Port Dickson. The fish head feast is at the Grand Lexis Roselle and nowhere else. Book by restaurant name rather than by resort and you will end up in the right restaurant at the wrong hotel — and at Batu 2 the wrong hotel is next door, which is exactly why nobody notices in time.

The Grand Merdeka Fish Head Feast, in full

The campaign brochure prices one set and five add-ons, and every figure on it is nett and inclusive of prevailing Sales and Service Tax.

  • Fish Head Special, choice of Curry or Asam Pedas — served with steamed rice, ulam, salted egg and Sago Gula Melaka: RM58 nett
  • Sambal Udang Petai: RM25 nett
  • Baby Kailan Masak Ikan Masin: RM18 nett
  • Sago Gula Melaka: RM15 nett
  • Kangkung Masak Belacan: RM10 nett
  • Telur Dadar: RM10 nett

Location is Roselle Coffee House, Main Building, Ground Floor, Grand Lexis Port Dickson. It runs 17 August to 20 September 2026, 12:00pm to 10:00pm, which is a five-week window rather than a long-weekend stunt, and it covers Merdeka Day on Monday 31 August and Malaysia Day on Wednesday 16 September. One oddity worth reading twice: Sago Gula Melaka appears in the set description and again on the add-on list at RM15 nett. The straightforward reading is that the set comes with one dessert and further portions are chargeable, which matters if four of you are sharing one fish head. Confirm it when you book rather than at the till.

What RM58 actually buys, per head

A fish head is a sharing dish, so the useful number is not RM58, it is RM58 divided by the people around the table. Three worked examples, all nett:

  • Two adults, the set alone. RM58 total, RM29 a head, and that already includes rice, ulam, salted egg and dessert.
  • A table of four, set plus three add-ons. RM58 + Sambal Udang Petai RM25 + Kangkung Masak Belacan RM10 + Telur Dadar RM10 = RM103, or RM25.75 a head.
  • Everything on the card. RM58 + RM25 + RM18 + RM15 + RM10 + RM10 = RM136 nett. Across four people that is RM34 each for a six-dish table.

For a sense of scale inside the same group: the Friday international buffet at Lexis Hibiscus, also at a Roselle Coffee House, is RM110 nett per adult and RM55 nett per child aged over 6 to 12. Grand Lexis's own Scrummy Chicken Combo is RM42 nett for Combo A and RM78 nett for Combo B, with room service adding RM5. Against those, a shared fish head at RM26 to RM34 a head is the cheapest full sit-down meal either property is currently advertising.

Freedom to Play at Kidz World, in full — and it ends tonight

This package ends today, Sunday 6 September 2026, and the Lexis Hibiscus offers index shows nothing replacing it. The record is kept here because the resort publishes no standard Kidz World admission rate the rest of the year, which makes RM55 the only official number ever attached to the facility. Lexis Hibiscus priced it flat: RM55 nett per child, for a single session, and the brochure listed exactly four inclusions.

  • One-hour admission to Kidz World
  • DIY EGG-citing Masterpiece
  • DIY Bunga Raya of Unity
  • Photobooth experience, one photo

Kidz World is on Level 2 of the Main Building at Lexis Hibiscus. The package runs 25 August to 6 September 2026 and you pick one of two sessions: 10:00am to 12:00 noon or 3:00pm to 5:00pm. Bookings go through +606 660 2626 ext. 2692.

Read the shape of that carefully. The session is a two-hour block, but the admission inside it is one hour. The other hour is the two craft activities and the photobooth. If your child's idea of a good afternoon is the play structure rather than painting a bunga raya, this package is not built for them, and an ordinary play voucher would suit better.

The Kidz World question nobody can answer for you

There is no way to work out the discount on this one, and it is worth saying so plainly. Lexis Hibiscus does not publish a standard Kidz World admission rate on its own site. Its facilities page says only that play vouchers can be bought at Reception, the Lobby Shop or LexSpa. Family blogs that have paid at the counter describe individual craft activities in the RM5 to RM25 range, but that is not an official figure and we are not going to present it as one.

What you can check is the overlap with a package the resort does publish. The Family Getaway Package at Lexis Hibiscus, a two-night stay, already includes complimentary entry to Kidz World for two children for three hours, plus a complimentary family photobooth photo, daily breakfast for two adults and two children, a 30-minute bicycle ride, a foldable play tent, kid-sized sunglasses, a fruit platter and RM100 nett of food and beverage credit. If you are booked on that package, you have three hours of Kidz World already and a photobooth print already, and the RM55 buys you two craft activities. That is a very different proposition from paying RM55 cold.

Note too that the Family Getaway credit is explicitly not applicable with other ongoing promotions and discounts, so do not plan to spend it on a promotional item.

The room offer neither Merdeka poster mentions — and it closes at 9pm tonight

While both resorts were advertising food and crafts, Lexis Hotel Group was quietly running the thing most people actually drive down for. Lexis Golden Deals Return to MATTA Fair sells discounted e-Room Vouchers at Booth 1Q25, Level 1, MITEC Kuala Lumpur, 4 to 6 September 2026, 10:00am to 9:00pm. Today is the last day.

The vouchers are not Port Dickson-only. The group's own price table covers five properties, and the two cheapest rooms on it are at the third Port Dickson resort the Merdeka posters never mention.

Lexis Port Dickson — the cheapest two rooms on the whole card:

  • Premium Tower Room, 605 sq ft — usually RM270, voucher RM200 nett, 26% off
  • Premium Water Chalet, 605 sq ft — usually RM432, voucher RM300 nett, 31% off

Grand Lexis Port Dickson, next door at Batu 2:

  • Deluxe Suite, 828 sq ft — usually RM540, voucher RM480 nett, 11% off
  • Sky Pool Villa, 1,216 sq ft — usually RM656.80, voucher RM480 nett, 27% off
  • Premium Pool Villa, 1,040 sq ft — usually RM712.80, voucher RM580 nett, 19% off

Lexis Hibiscus Port Dickson, ten miles out at Pasir Panjang:

  • Sky Pool Villa, 1,033 sq ft — usually RM853.20, voucher RM580 nett, 32% off, the deepest cut in the campaign
  • Premium Pool Villa, 872 sq ft — usually RM928.80, voucher RM680 nett, 27% off

Outside Port Dickson, for completeness:

  • Lexis Suites Penang, Premium Pool Suite, 968 sq ft — usually RM548.64, voucher RM380 nett, 31% off
  • Imperial Lexis Kuala Lumpur, Premium Pool Suite, 835 sq ft — usually RM966.60, voucher RM880 nett, 9% off, the weakest discount on the card

Every voucher is room only, for two people, one night, is valid for one year from the date of purchase, and carries no peak-season or weekend surcharge — you pick any date inside that year. Buy two or more and a Lexis plushie comes with them.

Note that the group's own websites disagree about the headline. The Grand Lexis page advertises "savings of up to 27%", the Lexis Hibiscus page says "up to 32%", and the brochure's corner flash says 32%. All three describe the same table: 27% is the deepest cut at Grand Lexis, and 32% is the Hibiscus Sky Pool Villa at RM853.20 down to RM580. If you only read the Grand Lexis page, you would never learn that the best discount in the campaign is at the other resort.

The breakfast voucher is a trap at one property

Breakfast vouchers are sold separately at RM50 nett per person, and they are not valid at Imperial Lexis Kuala Lumpur. Whether RM50 is a saving depends entirely on which resort you booked, because the same terms and conditions PDF prints the walk-in breakfast rates:

  • Lexis Hibiscus Port Dickson, Roselle Coffee House — walk-in adult RM75, so the voucher saves RM25
  • Grand Lexis Port Dickson, Roselle Coffee House — walk-in adult RM65, so the voucher saves RM15
  • Lexis Suites Penang, Roselle Coffee House — walk-in adult RM65, so the voucher saves RM15
  • Lexis Port Dickson, Aqua Coffee House — walk-in adult RM50, so the voucher saves nothing at all

At Lexis Port Dickson the voucher costs exactly what breakfast costs at the door, so there is no reason at all to pre-buy it there. And never buy one for a child: the voucher is a flat RM50 for one person, while walk-in children pay RM35 (ages 7 to 12) or RM23 (ages 3 to 6) at every Port Dickson property.

What it actually costs

  • The cheapest overwater night in the group. Lexis Port Dickson Premium Water Chalet at RM300, plus the RM4 Fi Lestari, is RM304 for two on any date in the next twelve months.
  • The one to buy at Grand Lexis. The Sky Pool Villa at RM480 is 1,216 sq ft with a private pool — the same voucher price as the 828 sq ft Deluxe Suite. There is no reason to buy the Deluxe.
  • With breakfast. That Sky Pool Villa plus two breakfast vouchers is RM480 + RM100 + RM4 = RM584, against RM480 + RM130 + RM4 = RM614 paying at the door. The vouchers save RM30.

The fine print that decides whether it is worth it

The voucher terms are stricter than the price table suggests:

  • Book at least seven days ahead, quoting the voucher number, and rooms are still subject to availability.
  • Print the voucher. The hotel reserves the right to refuse check-in without a printed voucher matching the number used at booking.
  • No amendments once confirmed, and a no-show voids the voucher entirely — you lose the money, not just the night.
  • Guaranteed-view rooms carry a surcharge of RM100 to RM200 nett per room per night where applicable. The voucher price does not buy you the view in the photograph.
  • Maximum four people per room, with amenity charges for the third and fourth, and no extra or rollaway beds at any Lexis hotel.
  • Vouchers may not be resold on Shopee, Lazada, Carousell or any social platform, and doing so voids them.
  • Also banned across the group: pets, cooking in rooms, outside food, raw ingredients, durians and mangosteens, smoking and vaping. At Lexis Hibiscus, fishing is prohibited because the surrounding waters are protected.
  • Bringing your own balloons or banners requires a RM150 refundable deposit at check-in.

The gold bar contest, and what it really asks

Buy at least one room voucher and the cashier issues an entry form for a slogan contest. Three winners take 5g Bunga Raya gold bars worth up to RM9,990 between them. It is judged, not drawn: the terms say winners are chosen on "creativity, originality, impact and personal tastes of the judges", so this rewards a good line rather than luck. Entries are one per transaction, at the booth only, 4 to 6 September, and the winner announcement is on or before 30 September 2026. Entrants also grant Lexis the right to use the slogan in future marketing.

If you cannot get to MITEC today

There is no online fallback. shop.lexis.my, the group's own e-voucher shop, reads "There are no products to display!" when checked on 6 September 2026, so the fair booth is the only channel while this campaign runs. If you miss tonight, what remains on both resorts' offer pages is the standing Minimum Stay deal — up to 10% off two or more consecutive nights, breakfast for two included.

Who this is for, and who should skip it

Worth it if you are already driving down for the long weekend and want one anchored, sit-down meal that does not need a buffet budget. A shared fish head at RM26 to RM34 a head, dessert included, is a genuinely good number for a resort restaurant, and the five-week run means you can go on a quiet Tuesday in September instead of fighting the Merdeka crowd.

Worth it if you have a child aged roughly four to ten who likes making things, you are staying at Lexis Hibiscus without the Family Getaway package, and you want two hours of the afternoon handled.

Skip it if you were hoping for a Merdeka room rate. There never was one at either Port Dickson property. The room-side savings sit elsewhere: the MATTA Fair voucher sale above, worth 11% to 32% depending on the room and closing at 9pm tonight, and the standing Minimum Stay deal — up to 10% off the best available rate on two or more consecutive nights, including breakfast for two — which runs at both resorts all year. At Lexis Hibiscus that one excludes the Royal, Imperial and Presidential Suites; check each resort's own offer page for its exclusions.

Skip the Kidz World package if you are on the Family Getaway package already, or if your child would rather have three uninterrupted hours in the play structure than one hour plus crafts.

The fine print that trips people up

  • Fi Lestari, RM4 nett per room per night. Lexis states in its own booking terms that this sustainable fee is mandated by the Negeri Sembilan state government, took effect in November 2025, applies to local and international guests alike, is collected upon check-in and is not included in the room rate. It applies across Port Dickson, not just at Lexis.
  • Tourism tax, RM10 nett per room per night, foreigners only. The same terms cite the Tourism Tax (Rate of Tax) Order 2017: it applies to all non-Malaysians and foreign passport holders, while Malaysian nationals and permanent residents are exempt. Also collected at check-in, also outside the quoted rate.
  • UMI is closed on Mondays. Grand Lexis's Sizzling Teppanyaki promotion at UMI Japanese Restaurant runs 6:30pm to 10:00pm daily but is closed on Mondays, and Merdeka Day 2026 falls on a Monday. If that was your Merdeka night plan, it is not available.
  • Room packages cannot be amended. Both properties' package terms state there is no cancellation or amendment allowed once the booking is confirmed, and packages must be booked at least three days ahead.
  • No extra beds. Lexis Hibiscus's own FAQ says extra and rollaway beds are not available, though children below 13 stay free using the existing bedding.
  • Kidz World's normal hours shift on holidays. The facility runs 8:00am to 7:00pm Sundays to Thursdays and 8:00am to 9:00pm on Fridays, Saturdays, public holidays and school holidays, so the late close applies right through this promotion window.
  • The brochure prices the child, not the adult. RM55 nett is per child. Whether an accompanying adult pays anything is not stated on the artwork, so ask on ext. 2692 when you book.

Getting the timing right

The Kidz World dates are not random. Malaysia's second term break falls on 28 August to 5 September 2026 for Group A (Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu) and 29 August to 6 September 2026 for Group B, which includes Negeri Sembilan, Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. The package's last day, Sunday 6 September, is the final day of the Group B break. In other words the whole promotion sits inside the busiest stretch of the Port Dickson calendar, and there is no quieter week afterwards to use it.

The fish head feast is the opposite. It runs to 20 September, a fortnight past the school holidays and four days past Malaysia Day, which leaves a genuinely quiet mid-September window if you would rather not queue.

Terms and conditions apply to all three, and hotel promotions are pulled without notice, so call the extension on the brochure before you drive down. All three offer pages, and both MATTA PDFs, were live when we re-checked the Grand Lexis and Lexis Hibiscus offers indexes on 6 September 2026.
