> Quick view: Lotus's Malaysia is running Troli Penuh Merdeka: Belanja & Menang from 30 July to 16 September 2026. Spend RM100 on a single receipt as a My Lotus's member, upload it in the app within three days, and you get one instant-reward game play worth up to RM10 plus one entry into a draw for six RM3,000 shopping sprees, nine RM690 e-vouchers and sixty-nine RM100 e-vouchers. Receipts cannot be combined, three a day, forty in total.

The half of Lotus's Merdeka that is not a price cut

Lotus's runs two things under the same Merdeka banner this year, and they behave completely differently. Lesgo Lokal is the familiar one — the catalogue campaign, Buy 1 Free 1 on selected fresh items, shelf prices marked down for a fortnight. It asks nothing of you beyond turning up.

Troli Penuh Merdeka: Belanja & Menang is the other one, and it is a contest rather than a discount. Nothing on the shelf gets cheaper. Instead, the shopping you were going to do anyway becomes an entry ticket, provided you clear a threshold and then do a second thing — upload the receipt — within a fixed window. That second step is where most people fall out, and it is why the mechanics below are worth five minutes before your next grocery run.

It runs 30 July to 16 September 2026, inclusive of both dates. That is a 49-day window that swallows Merdeka Day on 31 August and closes on Malaysia Day itself, 16 September.

How it works, step by step

Lotus's sets out four requirements, and all four have to be true for a receipt to count.

  1. Be an active My Lotus's member. Registration has to be through the Lotus's Malaysia mobile app or Lotus's Shop Online at lotuss.com.my. You must be 18 or over on the date you take part, and a Malaysian or Singaporean citizen or permanent resident holding valid ID.
  2. Spend at least RM100 on one single receipt — at any participating Lotus's physical store, or on Lotus's Shop Online.
  3. Scan or key in your member ID before the purchase is completed. This is the step people miss. A receipt that prints "Lotus's Points Missed" is explicitly named in the terms as invalid, and no amount of appealing afterwards fixes it.
  4. Submit the receipt through the "Merdeka Contest" icon in the Lotus's Malaysia app, within three days of the purchase date. The purchase date, receipt number and total must be clearly legible in the image. Late submissions are void.

Do all four and the receipt earns you exactly two things: one play of the in-app instant-reward game, and one entry into the Campaign Prize draw.

What you can actually win

There are two separate prize layers, and they pay out on completely different timelines.

| Layer | What it is | Value | Winners | When | |---|---|---|---|---| | Instant Reward | In-app game revealed after each valid receipt | My Lotus's Points or Lotus's e-vouchers, up to RM10 | Every valid submission gets a play | Credited within 48 hours of verification | | Grand Prize | RM3,000 Shopping Spree | RM3,000 | 6 | Random draw after 16 Sep | | Second Prize | Lotus's e-voucher | RM690 | 9 | Random draw after 16 Sep | | Third Prize | Lotus's e-voucher | RM100 | 69 | Random draw after 16 Sep |

The numbers are not accidental — 6, 9, 69 and RM690 all point at Malaysia's 69th year of independence.

Read the Instant Reward line carefully: up to RM10 is a ceiling, not an expectation. Lotus's states only that the reward is "My Lotus's Points or Lotus's E-Vouchers valued at up to RM10, as determined by Lotus's Malaysia" — there is no published distribution, no minimum, and no odds table. Points land under Points History in the app; e-vouchers land under My Rewards, and those vouchers carry their own validity dates and, where applicable, their own minimum spend. Unused balances expire.

The draw layer is genuinely small in headcount: 84 prizes in total across a nationwide member base. Nobody publishes the entry count, so anyone quoting you odds is guessing.

The receipt arithmetic

Two caps shape how many entries you can realistically collect: three submissions per day, and forty submissions for the entire campaign.

One big shop. A single RM300 trolley on one receipt is one entry. Size above RM100 buys nothing extra — the threshold is a gate, not a multiplier.

Three RM100 receipts in one day. Three separate transactions, each independently over RM100, submitted the same day: three entries and three instant-reward plays, off RM300 of spending. This is the only lever the rules actually give you, and it is inside them — but each transaction must clear RM100 on its own, because receipts cannot be combined.

Hitting the 40-receipt ceiling. Forty entries requires forty qualifying receipts, so at least RM4,000 of spending across the campaign — around RM82 a day for 49 days. For a large household doing a weekly RM250 shop, the realistic figure is closer to seven or eight entries, not forty. Treat 40 as a theoretical cap rather than a target.

What the instant layer is worth. If you submit ten qualifying receipts and every single one paid the maximum, that is RM100 back against RM1,000 of spending. The maximum is not the typical case, so the honest framing is this: the instant rewards are a small rebate on shopping you were doing anyway, and the draw is the part with the upside.

The three-minute Shopping Spree, decoded

The grand prize sounds like an open trolley. It is tightly specified.

  • Three minutes, one trolley, provided by Lotus's. Only that trolley counts — nothing on top of it, hanging off it, underneath it, or carried by hand at the end forms part of the prize.
  • Held at a Lotus's store in Kuala Lumpur or the Klang Valley, on a date Lotus's sets. Winners must attend at that location regardless of where they live, and transport and accommodation are at their own cost. If you win from Kota Kinabalu, the flight is yours.
  • Eligible departments only: Grocery, Fresh, Bakery, Health & Beauty, and Household Chemicals. Electrical and electronic goods, appliances, clothing, home living, stationery, gift cards, reload and prepaid products, tobacco, alcohol, controlled items, services and Lotus's Gift Vouchers are all excluded.
  • Valued at the till at the RM3,000 cap, using the price recorded at the point of sale including promotional prices — but member prices, points redemption, e-vouchers and coupons are not applied. Go over RM3,000 and you either pay the difference or Lotus's removes items, and Lotus's decides which ones. Any unused balance is forfeited.
  • No rescheduling. If you cannot attend, you may appoint one authorised representative with prior written authorisation. Winner, representative and companion must each be 18 or over.
  • Publicity is part of the deal: accepting the prize means agreeing that Lotus's may photograph, record and use your name, image and footage for promotion.
  • The three minutes is a default, not a guarantee. The terms set the duration at "three (3) minutes, or such other duration as determined by Lotus's Malaysia", and an official timekeeper appointed by Lotus's calls the start and the end — that decision is stated to be final.
  • You are not allowed to run. This is the clause most people miss in a prize built around speed: the safety terms prohibit running, climbing shelves, throwing products, damaging merchandise and obstructing other shoppers, and Lotus's can stop the spree or disqualify you on the spot. A trolley dash you have to walk is a very different planning exercise — route and aisle order matter far more than pace.
  • Only what is physically on the shelf that day. No substitutions, rain checks, back orders or replacements for anything out of stock. If the RM60 infant formula tin you planned around is empty, that is simply value you lose.
  • Nothing gets opened before the till. Products must not be opened, consumed or used during the spree, and Lotus's can pull opened items out of the prize. Only what is inside the official trolley at checkout counts.
  • Bring your IC and the paper receipts. Verification before the spree requires a valid NRIC or passport plus the original purchase receipt(s) — the app submission alone is not the proof. Faulty or defective items from the spree can be exchanged or refunded under the normal Lotus's return policy, but only within three days.

There is one inconsistency worth knowing about. The terms and conditions say a companion "may assist the winner, including pushing the trolley, carrying products, selecting products and providing assistance throughout the Shopping Spree." The FAQ, on the same campaign page, says the companion "is not allowed to participate in the Shopping Spree unless otherwise approved by Lotus's Malaysia." Those two sentences do not agree. If you are ever briefed as a winner, get the answer in writing from the organiser before you plan your run.

The other Lotus's offer riding on the same receipt

Troli Penuh Merdeka is not the only thing your RM100 trolley can trigger. Lotus's has been running a separate member campaign called Jimat! Lagi Jimat! alongside it, and the two are earned on the same shop.

The current Jimat wave works like this: spend a minimum of RM90 in a single receipt as a My Lotus's member between 22 and 31 August 2026, and Lotus's issues you one RM5-off-RM80 e-coupon, which lands in the Lotus's Malaysia app under My Rewards. You then have 1 to 14 September 2026 to spend it.

Three things make it worth knowing about if you are already chasing contest entries:

  • The thresholds line up in your favour. RM90 is lower than the RM100 the contest needs, so any receipt that qualifies for Troli Penuh Merdeka clears the Jimat bar automatically. Neither campaign's terms exclude the other, and nothing has to be done twice — the contest needs an app upload, the Jimat coupon is issued to your account on its own.
  • In-store only, and one per member. The Jimat coupon is expressly excluded on Lotus's Shop Online, so an online RM100 order enters the draw but earns no coupon. And it is capped at one coupon per member for the whole issuance window — a second RM90 receipt in the same wave earns nothing extra, unlike contest entries, which keep accruing up to three a day.
  • The two halves have different clocks. Earning closed on 31 August; redeeming runs 1 to 14 September, ends two days before the contest does, and cannot be used on gift vouchers, reloads, at the food court, or at non-Lotus's tenants. The purchase has to be at least RM80 — the coupon cannot be used on a smaller basket, and you pay the difference on anything above it.

Note that the campaign page itself is inconsistent here, which is normal for Lotus's: the English FAQ block and the campaigns listing blurb both still describe the May wave at RM120. The current numbers — RM90, 22–31 August, redeem 1–14 September — are the ones in the live English and Malay terms blocks at the top of the same page.

Who this is for, and who should skip it

Worth doing if you already shop at Lotus's for a household and regularly cross RM100 in one go, if you have the Lotus's app installed and remember to scan before paying, and if you treat the draw as a lottery ticket attached to spending you were committed to anyway.

Skip it if you would have to inflate a trolley to reach RM100, or split a shop you did not need to split. Forty entries costs RM4,000; 84 prizes exist nationwide. Buying groceries you do not want in order to chase that is a losing trade, and the campaign gives you no shelf discount to soften it. Also skip if you are not a member and do not want to be — there is no non-member route in.

The fine print that trips people up

  • Scan before you pay, every time. "Lotus's Points Missed" on the receipt means the receipt is dead for this contest.
  • Three days, not three weeks. The submission clock starts on the purchase date. A receipt from a 16 September shop is your last one, and it still has to go in inside its three-day window.
  • No combining, no resubmitting. RM60 plus RM45 is not RM105 for these purposes, and the same receipt cannot be entered twice. Duplicated, altered or manipulated images can get you disqualified outright.
  • Someone else's receipt does not work. Only purchases made on your own registered My Lotus's account are eligible.
  • One Campaign Prize per person for the whole campaign. Instant Rewards keep coming regardless, up to the submission caps.
  • Winner contact is by WhatsApp, SMS or phone, from the official Lotus's Malaysia WhatsApp account, with results announced on the official Lotus's Malaysia Facebook page. Three failed contact attempts across three consecutive working days and the prize passes to someone else — so keep the number on your My Lotus's account current.
  • Staff and vendors can play, but not win the big ones. Lotus's employees, their immediate family, agencies, suppliers and third-party service providers are eligible for Instant Rewards only, not for the Grand, Second or Third Prizes.
  • Keep the paper receipt after you upload it. The terms ask participants to retain the original receipt for verification and prize claims. A shortlisted winner who has thrown away the slip has a problem the app screenshot does not solve.
  • Problems go to the helpline, at lotusshelpline@lotuss.com.my or by direct message to the official Lotus's Malaysia Facebook page.
