> Quick view: PUMA's outlet at Genting Highlands Premium Outlets has brought back buy 2 selected items, get 2 complimentary selected items — and this time it runs the whole of September 2026, not a long weekend. But the mall's own anniversary page simultaneously advertises a different PUMA offer for 10-13 September only: 70% off with the purchase of 3 selected items. Both are published by the mall, on the same website, and they do not agree. Checked 9 September 2026.
What changed since August
August's Merdeka Day Special — buy 3 selected items, get 70% off — expired on 31 August 2026 and is gone from the mall's deals feed.
What replaced it is the mechanic the Merdeka special had itself displaced. On 8 September 2026 the mall published a new PUMA deal card, slugged `puma-special-sale-1-to-30-september`, and its wording is unambiguous:
> "Purchase 2 selected items and get 2 complimentary selected items"
Its validity label, confirmed on the rendered PUMA store page, reads VALID 1 SEP - 30 SEP. So the buy-2-get-2 format that ran 1-20 August is back, with a month-long window instead of a three-week one.
The complication: two different PUMA offers, both live
This is the part to read before you drive up, because the mall is publishing two different PUMA mechanics at once and never reconciles them.
- The deal card and the PUMA store page: buy 2 selected items, get 2 complimentary selected items — valid 1-30 September 2026
- The 15th Anniversary Sale event page: "Enjoy 70% savings with purchase of 3 selected items" — valid 10-13 September 2026
Both were verified on the mall's own site on 9 September 2026. The store page for PUMA lists exactly two offers — the buy-2-get-2 card and the standing VIP 10% — and does not mention the 70%. The anniversary event page lists PUMA among 70-plus brands with the 70% line and no mention of buy-2-get-2.
Neither surface is a superset of the other, so there is no way to tell from published sources which one a till will honour on 10, 11, 12 or 13 September. Ask before you build a basket. If staff will honour the 70%, take it — the arithmetic below shows it wins in every realistic scenario.
Which offer is actually better? The arithmetic
The two mechanics are not close, and the reason is worth understanding.
Buy 2, get 2 free caps out at 50% off — and only in the best case, where the two complimentary items are worth exactly as much as the two you paid for. Every ringgit the free pair falls short of the paid pair drags the real rate below 50%. In an outlet with mixed racks, "complimentary selected items" are rarely the priciest thing on the floor.
Buy 3, get 70% off is a flat 70% on all three, with no dependence on which item lands in which half of the basket.
For buy-2-get-2 to match 70%, the two free items would have to be worth about 2.3 times what you paid for the other two. That does not happen. If the 70% is available to you, it beats buy-2-get-2 outright.
Worked examples
Illustrative baskets — outlet stock and its marked prices change daily — but the arithmetic is exact:
- Four items at RM300 each (RM1,200 of stock). Buy 2, get 2: pay RM600, or RM150 an item. Buy 3 at 70% plus a fourth at full price: pay RM270 + RM300 = RM570, or RM142.50 an item.
- Three items at RM300 each. Buy 3 at 70%: pay RM270. Buy 2, get 2 cannot produce this basket — you would pay RM600 and carry home a fourth item you did not want.
- Three items at RM150, RM220 and RM330 (RM700). At 70% off you pay RM210 and save RM490. Under buy-2-get-2 you would pay for the two dearest (RM550) and take the RM150 piece plus one more free.
- Two items only. Neither special helps much: buy-2-get-2 forces two extra items on you, and the 70% needs three. The VIP Shopper Club 10% is the only lever — two RM300 pieces for RM540.
The basket rule flips between the two offers
This is where shoppers lose money. The two mechanics reward opposite buying behaviour:
- Under buy 2, get 2 free, you want the items you *pay* for to be cheap and the *complimentary* ones to be expensive — if the store lets you choose, which it usually does not.
- Under buy 3, get 70% off, every slot is worth 70% of whatever you put in it. An RM89 tee saves you RM62.30; an RM399 pair of shoes saves you RM279.30 from the same slot — RM217 more. You want the three most expensive eligible pieces you actually want.
So the mechanic you are offered at the till should change what you carry to it. Do not plan a basket before you know which one applies.
The standing offer nobody signs up for
Whichever special is running, PUMA Outlet at Suite 224 also carries a year-round VIP Shopper Club offer: 10% off selected items in a single receipt, valid 1 January to 31 December 2026.
Membership is free at premiumoutlets.com.my/vip-club, and the account it creates is the same login as the Premium Outlets Malaysia mobile app — which you also need for the anniversary contest below. It is worth doing before you go, not in the queue.
Whether the VIP 10% can sit on top of either September special is not published. Both listings say only "terms and conditions apply". Given the gap between 10% and 70%, it is not a question worth reshaping a basket around, but it is worth asking on a two-item trip.
The other PUMA store on the hill
There are two PUMA stores at Genting and they are not the same shop:
- PUMA Outlet, Suite 224, High Street, Genting Highlands Premium Outlets — the mid-hill outlet mall at KM13. This is where both September specials and the VIP 10% apply.
- PUMA, SkyAvenue Level 3, Resorts World Genting, at the top of the hill — a separate store with a separate Genting Rewards member offer.
As of 9 September 2026 the RW Genting partner page for the SkyAvenue store no longer renders its offer terms. That is not evidence the offer ended — a control check on a sibling partner page (Bonia) showed the same blank template, so this is a site rendering issue, not a withdrawal. The terms last confirmed, on 27 August 2026, were 15% off the entire purchase for Genting Rewards members buying two or more regular-priced items, stated to run to 31 December 2026, excluding accessories under RM79, socks, shoe care, and the Palermo and Speedcat collections, and explicitly not combinable with other in-store promotions, vouchers, gift cards, PWP or GWP. Treat that as unconfirmed this month and check at the till.
Worth timing your trip around: the anniversary weekend
The PUMA card runs all month, so there is no urgency to go on 10-13 September for PUMA alone. But the mall's 15th Anniversary Sale, 10-13 September 2026, 10am-10pm, layers several things on top that only exist that weekend:
- Storewide savings up to 80% across 40-plus participating tenants, most dated to those four days only.
- Anniversary treats, first 75 customers daily: a complimentary Caramel Almond Pretzel at Auntie Anne's, a Watermelon Lychee Crush at BOOST, a Kit Kat or Biscoff Cookie Crumb doughnut at Krispy Kreme, and an Iced Mango Sweet Tea at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.
- Free activities: cotton candy and popcorn giveaways, a Shake & Score Challenge and a Strike It Fast Challenge.
Shop More. Win Bigger. (10-20 September 2026)
A combined contest across both Genting Highlands and Johor Premium Outlets — spending at either centre accumulates to one total. Prizes: RM30,000 in Premium Outlets gift vouchers for the top spender, a trip to Seoul for two for second, a trip to Shanghai for two for third, and a Sony PlayStation 5 each for the next fifteen.
There is no minimum spend and no cap on receipts. To enter you must present original same-day receipts at the centre's Information Centre and register them through the "VIP Deals" section of the Premium Outlets Malaysia app. Reprinted receipts are refused, and a receipt already stamped "redeemed" cannot be used again — which matters, because the same receipts feed the redemption programmes below.
Genting Rewards, from 9 September 2026
A new programme, running 9 September to 31 December 2026: shopping at Genting Highlands Premium Outlets earns GP redeemable through the RW Genting app for attraction tickets.
- 6GP in one day: one Genting SkyWorlds 1-Day Standard Ticket
- 3GP in one day: one Skytropolis 1-Day Unlimited Ride Pass
- 2GP in one day: two Eufloria Gardens & Sculpture Park tickets
The mall does not print the earn rate on this page. RW Genting's own Genting Rewards FAQ puts it at 1GP per RM100, cash, credit card or GeMCash only, with the card presented at the time of purchase — which makes the tiers above roughly RM600, RM300 and RM200 of shopping in a single day. A three-item PUMA basket at 70% off will not get you there on its own; a four-figure day across several tenants will.
One caveat if you are planning the cable car into the same trip: RW Genting has posted maintenance closures for Genting SkyWay on 5-9 October 2026 and Awana SkyWay on 12-16 October 2026. Both fall outside the September window, but they affect any redemption you save up for.
Is this PUMA sale running at other outlet malls?
No — not at the operator's other Malaysian centre, at least. Checked on 9 September 2026, Johor Premium Outlets' deals feed carries 31 tenant promotions and no PUMA listing at all, the same absence recorded there in August. JPO is running its own 15th Anniversary Sale on the same 10-13 September dates, but PUMA is not part of it.
Deal aggregators periodically list several PUMA outlets together under one campaign banner. Genting is the only Premium Outlets centre where this September PUMA offer is confirmed on the operator's own site, so do not drive to a different outlet on the strength of an aggregator's brand list.

Fine print
- "Selected items" is never itemised in advance. Neither PUMA Malaysia nor the mall publishes a qualifying or exclusion list. The eligible racks are decided in-store by what is on the floor. Ask staff which items count before you start counting to two or three.
- "Complimentary selected items" may be a narrower pool than the items you pay for. The listing does not say the free pair can match the paid pair in value, and this single unpublished detail is what decides whether buy-2-get-2 is worth 50% or closer to 30%.
- Whether the offer repeats within one receipt is unpublished. If you are planning six items, ask at the till rather than assuming a second set qualifies.
- This is an outlet store. Stock is broken-size and previous-season by nature. If you need one current-season style in one specific size, this is the wrong trip.
- The mall is at KM13, on the way up. It sits in Pahang, not the Klang Valley, and is a separate stop from the theme parks at the peak — you cannot combine the outlet and SkyAvenue in five minutes.
- This mechanic rotates. This outlet ran buy-2-get-2 in July and early August 2026, buy-3-get-70% for Merdeka, and buy-2-get-2 again now. Expect the format to change again rather than assuming this one returns.
