August had no RM29 payday day at all: Secret Recipe ran a one-day Merdeka Buy 2 Free 1 on 31 August instead, and that has ended too. As of 14 September 2026, nothing on Secret Recipe's own promotions page says a September payday slice deal is coming. The closest thing live is RM32.90 for 3 cake slices, bought as a Shopee e-voucher on 9-11, 15-16 and 25-26 September 2026. The last window falls on Shopee's 25 September Payday Sale.

Update — 14 September 2026: what replaced the payday deal

Everything below was read today on Secret Recipe Malaysia's promotions index and each offer's own terms page. Prices come from the brand's own campaign posters.

  • Shopee — RM32.90 for 3 cake slices. Buy the e-voucher on 9-11, 15-16 or 25-26 September 2026. It is valid for dine-in and takeaway, excludes Brownie and Chocolate Lava, and has to be shown in the app at the counter. Printed vouchers and screenshots are refused.
  • Shopee — RM33 complete meal set. One main (Shrimp Aglio Olio, Spaghetti Meatballs in beef or chicken, or Arrabiata Spaghetti), any Signature Drink and one cake slice. Same Shopee sale dates, dine-in only, redeemable from 9 September and valid 60 days from purchase.
  • Lazada — Tea Set Deal. One tea in a pot (Earl Grey, English Breakfast or Jasmine Green Tea) plus any cake slice except Brownies and Chocolate Lava. Sold 9-11 and 25-27 September 2026, dine-in only, valid 60 days from purchase. Secret Recipe's page and poster don't print the price, so check the Lazada listing before you buy.
  • Lazada — RM32.90 for 2 selected pastas. Same Lazada dates and 60-day validity, dine-in only.
  • Touch 'n Go — RM13 for any 2 coffees and RM15 for 1 pastry + 1 drink. Both are dine-in and redeemable 9-30 September 2026 at selected outlets.
  • Bestie Thursdate — RM26 for 1 cake slice + 2 beverages. Thursdays all day, dine-in, SR Rewards members with the e-voucher saved in the app. The price includes SST and service charge.
  • Tea Time Special — a free hot drink with any slice cake, weekdays 3pm-6pm excluding public holidays. Peninsular outlets only, except Medini Mall and AEON Mall Taiping.

The marketplace vouchers work only at selected outlets. Secret Recipe publishes the list at secretrecipe.com.my/e-voucher-redemption-outlet-list. Check your branch before you pay, because vouchers can't be refunded once the order is confirmed.

Is it still worth it? The per-slice maths

  • July payday, takeaway: RM29 ÷ 3 = RM9.67 a slice; RM37 ÷ 4 = RM9.25 a slice.
  • July payday, dine-in: 10% service charge made 3 slices RM31.90.
  • September Shopee voucher: RM32.90 ÷ 3 = RM10.97 a slice. For takeaway that's RM3.90 more than the July deal for the same three slices, about RM1.30 a slice. The voucher terms don't say whether dine-in adds a service charge.
  • Bestie Thursdate: RM26 buys one slice and two drinks, service charge included. It's the better choice for two people sharing a slice. For three slices, it's the worse choice.
  • Shopee RM33 meal set: a main, a drink and a slice for one fixed price. It's better value than the slice voucher if you actually want lunch.

Who should buy the voucher, and who should wait

  • Buy it if you want three or more slices in September (a birthday at the office, family visiting). Buy on 25-26 September to catch Shopee's Payday Sale, and stack Shopee's own platform vouchers or coins if they apply at checkout.
  • Skip it if you only want one slice. Tea Time Special gets you a free drink with no voucher, and Bestie Thursdate covers two people.
  • Skip it if your nearest branch isn't on the e-voucher outlet list, or you're outside Peninsular Malaysia and not sure your outlet redeems it.
  • Wait if you only want the in-store 3-for-RM29 price. It has appeared on paydays in 2025 and 2026 (29 April, 29 June and 29 July 2026), but not in August. Secret Recipe usually announces it only a day or two before.

  • Not combinable with other promotions, discounts, set meals, bank card offers or SR Rewards privileges
  • No delivery: dine-in and takeaway only

How the September Shopee voucher works

  1. Search the Secret Recipe store on Shopee during a sale window (9-11, 15-16 or 25-26 September 2026) and buy the RM32.90 3-slice voucher.
  2. Check the e-voucher outlet list on Secret Recipe's site for your branch.
  3. At the counter, open the voucher in the Shopee app and let staff scan or validate it. Screenshots won't be accepted.
  4. Pick three slices (no Brownie or Chocolate Lava) for dine-in or takeaway. The voucher can't be combined with bank discounts, other promos or member privileges.
