> Quick view: the weekend deal at Shabu-Yo AEON Mall Tebrau City didn't end on 31 August. A new round, announced on Shabu-Yo Malaysia's Instagram on 30 August, runs 1 September – 30 November 2026. Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays cost the same as weekdays, and Setia City Mall in Shah Alam is now included too.

What changed on 1 September

The first round ran 17 June – 31 August 2026 at AEON Mall Tebrau City only. The new round is longer and has clearer terms:

- Dates: 1 September – 30 November 2026 (poster: "Valid until 30 Nov 2026", marked "Limited time offer") - Outlets: AEON Mall Tebrau City (Johor Bahru) and Setia City Mall (Shah Alam). The poster calls it an exclusive for these two - Mechanic: no weekend surcharge and no public holiday surcharge on the all-you-can-eat courses - Prices on the poster, same on every day of the week: - Lunch from RM39.90++ per pax - Dinner from RM53.90++ per pax - Tax: "Price is subject to 6% SST and 10% Service Charge" - Excluded: set meals (RM32.90+)

Shabu-Yo publishes only the starting price for each session. Higher courses with beef or wagyu cost more, so check the tablet menu at your table before you order.

How much the no-surcharge rule saves

Shabu-Yo doesn't state its usual weekend surcharge on this poster. A dated reference: when Shabu-Yo opened at Queensbay Mall, Penang in February 2025, a food creator's launch listing gave lunch from RM39.90 on weekdays vs RM44.90 on weekends and holidays, and dinner from RM53.90 vs RM59.90. That's a gap of RM5 at lunch and RM6 at dinner per adult on the entry course. The weekday starting prices match today's poster exactly, but treat those weekend figures as a 2025 Penang snapshot, not a JB quote.

Worked examples on the entry course, if that 2025 gap still applies:

  • Saturday dinner for 4 adults: 4 × RM53.90 = RM215.60 before charges, or about RM251 with 10% service charge and 6% SST. At the old RM59.90 weekend rate the same table would be RM239.60 before charges, RM24 more.
  • Sunday lunch for 2 adults: 2 × RM39.90 = RM79.80 before charges, about RM93 after. The saving vs the old weekend rate is RM10 before charges.
  • Public holiday dinner for 2 adults and 1 child under 140cm: children's courses are priced separately (Shabu-Yo lists children under 140cm from RM29.90+ and toddlers under 120cm from RM19.90+; under 90cm eat free). 2 × RM53.90 + RM29.90 = RM137.70 before charges, about RM160 after.

Other Shabu-Yo offers you can use at AEON Tebrau

  • Stamp card, free kids' meal (AEON Mall Tebrau City and Setia City Mall only): get 1 stamp per visit. With 3 stamps you get 1 free kids' meal worth up to RM29.90+. Stamps are collected until 31 December 2026 and must be redeemed by 31 January 2027. A parent must accompany the child, it can't be combined with other promotions or vouchers, and it's one stamp per person. Three weekend family dinners between now and November, all at weekday prices, fill a card.
  • Birthday month, 15% off: 15% off the total bill for up to 6 pax, any time in your birthday month. All-you-can-eat courses only, not set meals or single hotpot, and it can't be combined with other offers, vouchers or coupons. Ask at the counter whether it stacks with the weekday-price rule before you order. Shabu-Yo will also keep a birthday cake in the fridge for you.
  • Longer lunch sitting (all outlets): enter before 3:30pm and lunch pricing runs until 5pm, on weekdays and weekends, until further notice. This doesn't apply to set meals, which keep a 90-minute limit.
  • Autumn "Pumpkin Fair" menu: pumpkin soup, fresh pumpkin at the buffet, chicken mushroom rice, new kakigori syrups, and pork and cabbage dumplings (dinner only). It started at LaLaport BBCC on 1 September and at the other outlets from 8 September, while stocks last.

Who this suits, and who should skip

It's a good fit for:

  • Families and groups who can only eat out on weekends. The bigger the table, the more you save
  • Singapore day-trippers crossing on a Saturday. AEON Tebrau City is a short drive from the Causeway, and a Saturday visit now costs the weekday rate
  • Parents who will be back three times before the end of the year. The stamp card adds a free kids' meal on top

Skip it if:

  • You want a set meal. The RM32.90+ set meals are excluded, and they only include 2 plates of meat
  • You're comparing on the starting price alone. RM39.90++ and RM53.90++ are entry courses, and beef or wagyu courses cost more
  • You're in KL or Penang. Only AEON Tebrau City and Setia City Mall take part, so other Shabu-Yo outlets still charge weekend rates

  • The first round (17 June – 31 August 2026) has ended. From 1 December, weekend pricing may return unless Shabu-Yo announces another extension

Tips

  • Book or arrive early on weekends. Removing the surcharge makes weekends busier, and AEON Tebrau City's car park fills up fast
  • Order in small rounds. It's a tablet-order buffet with a time limit, and desserts include waffles and soft-serve
  • Bring the stamp card every time. A visit without a stamp means one more trip before the free kids' meal
