> Quick view: the October escapes are over. Shangri-La's current member offer at its two Batu Ferringhi resorts is Stay More Save More: 22% off a stay of at least three nights, from RM406 a night at Golden Sands and RM624 at Rasa Sayang, with breakfast for two and a RM50 dining credit per stay. Book by 30 November 2026 for stays from 1 November 2026 to 31 March 2027. It is not the cheapest rate on either page; the prepaid Saver Rate still is.
The Penang Kaw Kaw Escape (RM308 at Golden Sands) and Penang Ong Ong Escape (RM525 at Rasa Sayang) stopped taking bookings on 10 October. Neither resort extended them, and nothing replaced them for October stays. Stay More Save More went on sale on 15 October and only covers stays from 1 November.
We read both resorts' own offers pages on shangri-la.com on 21 October 2026 with the site currency set to ringgit, then opened each offer's detail page for the inclusions, minimum stay and terms.
What Stay More Save More includes
The offer is the same at both resorts and uses the same rate code, SLPROMO7:
- 22% off the room for Shangri-La Circle members
- Minimum three nights
- Daily breakfast for up to two adults
- A RM50 nett dining credit per room per stay (not per night)
- Wi-Fi
Golden Sands adds one condition Rasa Sayang does not print: you must book at least one day before arrival. Both resorts' terms say the offer is capacity controlled with black-out dates, so a Christmas or Chinese New Year night may not open on this rate even inside the stay window.
The children's meal policy applies as usual for members: with a dining adult, up to two in-house children aged six and under eat buffet meals free at the all-day dining venues, and further under-sixes plus all children aged seven to eleven pay 50% of the adult buffet price.
Is it the cheapest rate? No, on the headline price
At both resorts the prepaid Members Online Saver Rate with breakfast still starts lower: RM340 at Golden Sands and RM615 at Rasa Sayang. Stay More Save More's 22% comes off a higher base rate than the Saver's, so the percentage is not the saving it looks like.
Three nights, all in (10% service charge, 8% SST, RM3 hotel fee a night):
- Golden Sands: RM1,455.98 on Stay More Save More against RM1,220.76 on the Saver Rate. Even after spending the RM50 credit (RM1,405.98), the Saver Rate is RM185.22 cheaper.
- Rasa Sayang: RM2,232.94 on Stay More Save More against RM2,200.86 on the Saver Rate and RM2,236.50 on Discover More, Pay Less. Spend the RM50 credit and Stay More Save More comes to RM2,182.94, RM17.92 under the Saver Rate and RM53.56 under Discover More, Pay Less.
Two things can still make Stay More Save More the right choice. First, the from-prices above are each offer's cheapest date, and they need not be the same date: Stay More Save More's lowest night falls somewhere between November and March, while the Saver Rate's could be any night. Price your own dates on both. Second, the Saver Rate is prepaid, and Stay More Save More's terms do not say it is, which matters if your plans could change.
The family alternative at Golden Sands
For a family, the Family Fun Offer at Golden Sands is a different product, not a pricier version of the same one. From RM460 a night with no minimum stay, it covers breakfast for two adults and two children, unlimited Adventure Zone for two kids, 15% off Garden Café and Sigi's Bar and Grill, and one Adventure Zone mystery box per stay. Three nights all in come to RM1,648.44, which is RM192.46 more than Stay More Save More at RM1,455.98. If your children are six or under, the meal policy already feeds two of them free at the buffet, so the case for Family Fun rests mainly on the Adventure Zone. It books and stays to 31 December 2026.
The fine print
At both resorts the package inclusions are non-refundable and cannot be swapped, the RM50 credit cannot be exchanged for cash, the rate does not apply to groups of 10 or more rooms, and it cannot be combined with any other promotion, privilege card or Shangri-La Circle F&B or spa point redemption. Third-person charges: RM150 plus tax a night at Golden Sands, RM180 plus tax in a Rasa Sayang Garden Wing room and RM250 plus tax in a Rasa Wing room or suite, one extra bed per room.
Malaysians and permanent residents are exempt from the RM10 per room per night tourism tax, so none of the figures above carry it. Foreign passport holders pay it at check-in.

- Staying before 1 November: Stay More Save More does not cover you. Book the Saver Rate (RM340 / RM615), or the Family Fun Offer at Golden Sands if you have kids.
- Couple, three or more nights at Rasa Sayang from November: Stay More Save More, provided you will use the RM50 credit; check the Saver Rate for your dates too.
- Couple, three or more nights at Golden Sands: start with the Saver Rate. Pick Stay More Save More only if it prices lower for your dates or you need a rate that is not prepaid.
- Family that will live in the Adventure Zone: the Family Fun Offer at Golden Sands.
- One or two nights: Stay More Save More is not open to you; it needs three.
