October's buffets and prices

The hotel posted its October rate card on Instagram on 1 October and again on 8 October 2026. Both buffets are at Wembley Cafe, Level L, under the hotel's Spice of Life weekend series:

  • The Fusion buffet lunch: Saturday and Sunday, 12pm to 3pm. RM95 nett adult, RM70 senior, RM44 child.
  • Steak & Pearl buffet dinner: Friday and Saturday, 6pm to 9.30pm. RM148 nett adult, RM113 senior, RM71 child.

The lunch price is the hotel's own figure. Older third-party Penang buffet listings still show RM88 adult and RM68 senior for the weekend lunch, which is out of date. Earlier hotel posters defined a child as 6 to 12 and a senior as 55 and above; ask when you book if anyone is on the edge.

The 8 October post describes the weekend spread as mains, fresh seafood and desserts. When the series was refreshed in July 2026, it listed seafood on ice (tiger prawns, oysters and green mussels), live Penang-style orh jian and Japanese oden stations, chilli swimmer crab, salted egg prawns, roast lamb leg, beef Wellington, satay, dim sum and Nyonya kuih. Menus rotate with each month's theme, and the hotel sends the current one by message on request.

The October–November senior special

Senior citizens pay RM71 nett for the Steak & Pearl buffet dinner (usual RM113), a saving of RM42 a head. The hotel's poster labels it an "October–November special", so expect it to run to the end of November. It ran once before, during the September Mid-Autumn buffet.

The standing perks

These are printed on every buffet poster, including both October ones:

  • Birthday guest dines free with two paying adults
  • Children under 12 dine free at the buffet dinner with one paying adult
  • Free corkage and free parking for diners

Pink October: what the buffet supports

From 1 to 31 October 2026 the hotel is running Shine Bright in Pink with Penang Hospice Society:

  • A portion of the October buffet proceeds goes to the society. The hotel has not said how much per diner.
  • At the hotel lobby on Level L, make a donation at the front desk and you get a pink ribbon sticker to add to a large ribbon the hotel is filling in through the month. All funds collected go to the society.

There is no minimum donation, and you do not need to dine to take part.

CHM Club: the cheapest way in

CHM Club is the free loyalty programme of the hotel's operator, Cititel Hotel Management. Its rewards catalogue lists a St Giles Wembley Penang eVoucher for 20% off weekend buffet lunch and dinner at Wembley Cafe, priced at 0 points, so any member can redeem it, including someone who signed up that morning.

How it works:

  1. Join CHM Club (free) and sign in.
  2. Redeem the St Giles Wembley buffet eVoucher from the rewards catalogue. The QR code arrives by email straight away.
  3. Show the QR code to the restaurant before you pay.

The terms: valid until 30 November 2026; one eVoucher per transaction; dine-in only; not on public holidays, the eve of a public holiday or special festive periods; not with other vouchers, discounted items, loyalty or privilege schemes, or ongoing promotions.

Which weekends it works

Penang has no public holidays left in October, so the remaining October buffet weekends all qualify: 17–18, 24–25 and 31 October. In November, Deepavali falls on Sunday 8 November, so Saturday 7 November (the eve) and Sunday 8 November are blocked. The other November weekends (1, 14–15, 21–22 and 28–29 November) are open, and Sunday 29 November is the last usable buffet day.

The terms say "weekend buffet", but they do not say whether a Friday dinner counts, so ask when you book.

Worked examples

At the hotel's October rates:

  • Two adults, weekend lunch: RM190; with the eVoucher, RM152
  • Two adults and two children aged 6–12, weekend lunch: RM278; with the eVoucher, RM222.40
  • Two adults and a birthday guest, weekend lunch: RM190 for three, about RM63 a head
  • Two adults, Saturday Steak & Pearl dinner: RM296; with the eVoucher, RM236.80
  • Two seniors, dinner: RM142 with the October–November special, against RM226 at the usual senior rate
  • Two adults and two children under 12, Saturday dinner: RM296, if each paying adult brings one free child as the promotion reads

The eVoucher cannot be combined with "ongoing promotions", so do not assume it stacks with the senior special, the birthday perk or the free-child perk. Work out which saves more. For two adults and a birthday guest at lunch, the free seat (worth RM95) beats 20% off two adults (RM38). For seniors at dinner, the RM71 special (RM42 off) beats 20% off the usual RM113 (RM22.60 off).

Staying over

The hotel's only listed stay offer is the Visit Malaysia 2026 Early Bird: confirm a stay at least 14 days in advance and save 15%, valid until 31 December 2026. The hotel publishes no room rate against it, so the saving depends on the rate you are quoted. The deadline moves with your check-in: a stay starting Friday 6 November must be confirmed by Friday 23 October. CHM Club separately advertises member rates of up to 20% off stays, so compare the two when you book.

St Giles Wembley is at 183 Jalan Magazine, George Town, next to KOMTAR and about 20 minutes' drive from Penang International Airport. The Lobby Lounge opens daily from noon to midnight, and the DSRT Sky Room on Level 31 opens Monday to Saturday, 5pm to midnight.

Who should go, and who should skip

  • Seniors: October and November are the time to go, with the Steak & Pearl dinner at RM71 nett.
  • Families at weekend lunch: the RM44 child rate and the birthday perk do the most work here.
  • Couples: the Saturday dinner with a CHM eVoucher works out to RM118.40 a head for the RM148 spread.
  • Skip it if you want a public-holiday buffet with a discount, or a menu you can read before you book.
