> Quick view: Activate a TNG eWallet Visa Travel Card from 1 October to 31 December 2026 and TNG Digital gives you eight cashback vouchers worth up to RM35 in total. Each voucher pays 15% back on one foreign-currency transaction in a set category. To collect the full RM35 you need about RM234 of correctly ordered foreign spending within 90 days. The card itself costs RM20, so the realistic net gain is up to RM15 in year one, plus whatever the card's regular overseas cashback adds.

What the campaign actually gives you
We read the campaign's own terms and FAQ on tngdigital.com.my on 4 October 2026. The campaign runs from 1 October to 31 December 2026, and the only requirements are a TNG eWallet registered to a valid mobile number and a Visa Travel Card that you activate yourself during those dates. Once activated, you have 90 days of eligible spending to trigger the vouchers. There is no minimum spend on any of them.
The eight vouchers, all at 15% of a single transaction:
- Voucher 1, pre-trip booking: up to RM10. Travel platforms such as Traveloka, Agoda, Trip.com, KKday and Booking.com.
- Voucher 2, online shopping: up to RM3. Marketplaces such as Amazon, Pinduoduo, Taobao and Shein.
- Voucher 3, AI subscription: up to RM5. TNG names Claude and ChatGPT.
- Voucher 4, entertainment subscription: up to RM5. Netflix, YouTube, Spotify and iQiyi are the named examples.
- Voucher 5, transport and e-hailing abroad: up to RM3. MRT, Grab, Gojek and Bolt outside Malaysia.
- Vouchers 6, 7 and 8, overseas in-store: up to RM3 each, RM9 together.
Vouchers 1 to 5 trigger automatically by category, in any order. Vouchers 6 to 8 work differently: they credit in sequence on your next three overseas in-store transactions that do not fall into categories 1 to 5. Cashback lands in your eWallet instantly after each transaction.
The spending you need for the full RM35
Because every voucher is 15% with a cap, the cap tells you the transaction size that maxes it out. These are our own calculations from TNG's published caps:
- Voucher 1: RM10 cap, so spend RM66.67 or more in one booking.
- Vouchers 3 and 4: RM5 cap, so RM33.34 or more each.
- Vouchers 2, 5, 6, 7 and 8: RM3 cap, so RM20 or more each.
Add those up and the full RM35 needs roughly RM234 of foreign spending spread over eight separate transactions. Spending more than the threshold on any single voucher earns nothing extra from this campaign.
A worked example: four days in Bangkok
Say you activate the card in November and book a Bangkok trip:
- Hotel on a travel platform, paid in baht, worth RM400: Voucher 1 pays RM10 (15% would be RM60, capped).
- A Grab ride from the airport worth RM25: Voucher 5 pays RM3.
- Your first three in-store purchases in Bangkok are a RM45 dinner, a RM120 shopping bill and a RM30 cafe stop: Vouchers 6, 7 and 8 pay RM3 each, RM9 in total.
That is RM22 back on this trip alone. The subscription and online-shopping vouchers (up to RM13 more) only pay out if you happen to make those purchases in a foreign currency on this card within the same 90 days.
The card also carries TNG's separate "up to 3%" overseas cashback, and the activation terms say the vouchers come on top of it. Read that one carefully. Its own terms, which run to 31 December 2027, pay only on in-store purchases at a physical terminal overseas, and the rate is tiered by single transaction: 0.5% from RM2 to RM149, 1.5% from RM150 to RM299, and 3% from RM300. The RM120 shopping bill above earns 60 sen of base cashback, not RM3.60. That scheme also excludes taxis and e-hailing, so the airport Grab ride earns only its voucher.
The fine print that trips people up
- Foreign currency only. TNG's FAQ says every qualifying transaction "must be paid in a foreign currency other than Malaysia Ringgit". If your Agoda booking or streaming subscription is charged in ringgit, it does not count, even though the merchant is on TNG's own example list. Check the currency before you pay.
- The in-store vouchers do not wait for a big purchase. Vouchers 6 to 8 go to your next three eligible overseas in-store transactions in date order. Tap the card for a RM5 bottle of water at the airport and Voucher 6 is gone for 75 sen. Use cash or another card for small items until the three vouchers are used.
- Excluded spending. Duty-free stores, petrol stations, ATM withdrawals, e-wallet top-ups, money transfers, jewellery stores, government services and gambling are all on the excluded merchant list.
- Keep your card mailer. If you lose or throw away the mailer and TNG's careline activates the card for you, the campaign vouchers are never triggered.
- Refunds are clawed back. Cancel a booking after the cashback lands and TNG can deduct it from your eWallet balance.
- Already have a Travel Card? The campaign is for cards activated within 1 October to 31 December 2026. A card you activated before October does not qualify. Each user can hold only one TNG Visa card, and switching cards deactivates the old one; the campaign terms do not say whether a switch from the Everyday Card counts, so ask TNG's in-app live chat (7am to 10pm daily) before paying.
What the card costs
According to TNG's Visa Card page, the Travel Card costs RM20 to apply for (RM15 plus RM5 delivery), with an RM8 annual fee waived for the first year. It is a prepaid card linked to your eWallet balance, not a credit card, with no credit check or income requirement. You can apply from age 12 after completing eKYC, and you must live in Malaysia. It includes one free overseas ATM withdrawal a month, then RM10 per withdrawal.
Who it is good for, and who should skip it
Good for: anyone with an overseas trip booked for late 2026 or early 2027 who does not yet have the Travel Card. Activate it within a few weeks of the trip so the 90-day window covers the booking and the travel days. A December activation stretches the window into March 2027.
Probably skip: if you are not travelling in the next three months, the voucher list leaves only online shopping and subscriptions billed in foreign currency, worth at most RM13. That does not cover the RM20 card fee. The same goes for anyone who already activated a Travel Card before October.
Apply and check the latest terms on TNG eWallet's campaign page. TNG says it can end or extend the campaign early with at least five days' notice.
