What is live instead runs to 30 September: the new V80 Lite 5G from RM1,399 (RRP RM1,499) with an RM100 bank rebate and BNPL discounts, and e-store flash prices that take RM700 off the X300 Ultra.

Status: the Merdeka promotion has ended

The Sunway Pyramid promotion ran 8-31 August 2026. For the record, it offered unspecified "exclusive in-store promotions", gifts with selected purchases while stocks lasted, and hands-on activities. The hard numbers sat in vivo's nationwide Merdeka campaign (3-31 August): an RM100 rebate on a minimum RM1,000 spend at selected concept stores in Penang, Selangor, KL and Johor Bahru, 6 months 0% instalment via SPayLater, and up to 10,000 Coin Bonanza coins. The "Shoot Beyond What You See" X300 Ultra landmark photo challenge (#MyPerspectiveofMY) closed the same day.

Checked on 11 September: neither the vivo.com/my homepage nor the official e-store carries a Malaysia Day (16 September) campaign. What is live is a phone launch and a store-wide flash sale, and both end on 30 September.

What's live: the V80 Lite 5G launch (to 30 September)

vivo launched the V80 Lite 5G in Malaysia on 3 September 2026. Pre-orders ran 3-11 September at vivo concept stores, the vivo e-store, and vivo's Lazada and Shopee stores. The first-sale promotion that follows runs to 30 September, while stocks last.

Prices, promo first with RRP in brackets:

  • 6GB + 128GB: RM1,399 (RRP RM1,499)
  • 6GB + 256GB: RM1,699 (RRP RM1,799)
  • 8GB + 256GB: RM1,899 (RRP RM1,999)

The gift bundle, itemised. The e-store's product page lists what it attaches to each unit: a Smart Projector (RM699), a V80 Lite gift box (RM199: a backpack, V Selection earbuds and a card holder), a 1-year extended warranty (RM99), a 4-year battery warranty (RM99), 1-year back cover protection (RM49) and a multi-country warranty (RM0). That adds up to exactly RM1,145, the figure launch coverage gave for the pre-order gifts. The projector is the pre-order gift. For first-sale buyers after 11 September, vivo's announcement lists the RM199 gift box plus the vivo Care warranties, "worth up to RM466". The e-store's own line items add up to RM446 without the projector. Treat the projector as gone unless it is still on the product page when you check out.

Payment offers for the first sale, to 30 September:

  • RM100 rebate when you pay on a 6- or 12-month 0% instalment plan with Hong Leong Bank, Public Bank, UOB or OCBC
  • BNPL discounts: up to RM150 with SPayLater, RM120 with Atome, RM150 with Grab PayLater
  • 12-month 0% instalment "from RM124.92 a month"

Read that last number closely. RM124.92 x 12 = RM1,499, the RRP, not the RM1,399 promo price. Spread over 12 months, the promo price works out to RM116.58 a month.

Worked examples, using the published numbers:

  • Cheapest outright: 6GB + 128GB at RM1,399.
  • Bank-card route: 6GB + 128GB on a 12-month 0% plan with one of the four banks, less the RM100 rebate. That is RM1,299 (RM108.25 a month) if the plan is billed off the promo price, or RM1,399 if it is billed off the RRP, as the RM124.92 headline implies. Ask which before you sign.
  • BNPL route: 8GB + 256GB with the full RM150 SPayLater or Grab PayLater discount comes to RM1,749 at best. "Up to" means the RM150 depends on the variant and the provider's own terms, so check at checkout.
  • vivo has not said the bank rebate and a BNPL discount stack, so plan on one or the other.

Is the V80 Lite the right phone?

The pitch is endurance, not speed. From vivo's own spec sheet:

  • 10,000mAh battery with 44W charging and the charger in the box. vivo rates it to keep 80% capacity after 1,400 full cycles, with stable output up to 45°C
  • IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance, plus five MIL-STD environmental tests
  • 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display, 120Hz, 2,000 nits
  • MediaTek Dimensity 7300e, a 2024 mid-range chip
  • 50MP Sony main camera + 2MP bokeh sensor, 32MP selfie camera, NFC, USB 2.0, 224g

Buy it if you ride, work outdoors or simply want two days between charges, and you want a phone that shrugs off rain. Skip it if camera or gaming performance matters. The only real rear camera is the 50MP main one (the 2MP sensor handles depth), and the chip is two years old. For the same RM1,899, the e-store's V70 FE flash deal gets you 8GB + 512GB, double the V80 Lite's top storage.

The e-store flash deals (also to 30 September)

The vivo e-store's Flash Deals were counting down to the end of 30 September when checked on 11 September. Prices, with RRP:

  • X300 Ultra 16GB + 512GB: RM6,099 (RRP RM6,799), which is RM700 off
  • X300 Ultra 16GB + 1TB: RM7,099 (RRP RM7,799)
  • X300 Ultra 16GB + 512GB with Telephoto Extender Gen 2: RM6,798 (RRP RM7,798). The extender costs RM699 on top of the phone, against the RM999 its list price implies
  • V70 FE 5G 8GB + 512GB: RM1,899 (RRP RM1,999)
  • Y31s 5G 8GB + 256GB: RM1,429 (RRP RM1,699)
  • Y11 5G 4GB + 256GB: RM999 (RRP RM1,099)
  • iQOO Z11 5G 8GB + 256GB: RM1,459 (RRP RM1,899). iQOO is vivo's sub-brand, sold on the same store

The e-store ships free above RM199 and offers 0% instalment plans. If the Merdeka photo challenge left you eyeing the X300 Ultra, note that it needed exactly this phone-and-extender pairing. That bundle now sits RM1,000 under its list price.

Buying at Sunway Pyramid

The store behind the original promotion is still trading. Sunway Pyramid's own directory lists vivo at Lot F1.36 & 37, First Floor, phone +60 13-881 4818. It sells smartphones and accessories and runs an in-house repair service. The V80 Lite pre-order ran at vivo concept stores, but the flash prices above are e-store listings. Ask at the counter whether the in-store price and gift bundle match the e-store's before you pay. Klang Valley's other vivo concept store is at Sunway Velocity Mall, Lot 3-101 & 3-102, Cheras, which opened on 27 June 2026.

Fine print
