Read the exclusions before you build a cart, because a lot of the deepest markdowns cannot take the coupon.

What is in the sale

We read the campaign page, its banners and its terms on 8 October. Here is everything that is live, grouped by how you get it.

Coupons in the Coupon Zone (claim first, then check out)

  • RM30 off a minimum spend of RM225, valid to 14 October. Still claimable when we checked.
  • RM10 off a minimum spend of RM100, valid to 14 October. This one was already stamped "Ran out".
  • W Mall codes WMALLOFF6 (RM6 off RM50) and WMALLOFF18 (RM18 off RM130). These only work on W Mall marketplace items, and the claim cards end on 9 October. Watsons' own page set-up suggests they return from 11 to 14 October, but that is not printed on the banner, so check the Coupon Zone on the day.

Brand instant rebates (applied automatically)

  • Huggies, Kotex, Poise and Kleenex: RM6 off RM60 or RM10 off RM120
  • Neutrogena, Johnson's Baby, Aveeno, Clean & Clear and Listerine: RM6 off RM80
  • Himalaya: RM5 off RM50

Member free gifts (home delivery only)

For Watsons Club members: a Huggies umbrella at RM100 of Huggies, a quilted travel bag at RM188 across Huggies, Kotex, Poise and Kleenex, a dessert plate at RM50 of Kotex and Poise, a Tsubaki bath salt at RM80, Senka sheet masks at RM50 or Senka micellar water at RM100, and a Neutrogena crossbody bag at RM80. There is also a free Ensure Gold coffee 400g with two Ensure Gold 800g tins. All gifts are while stocks last.

Date-specific events

  • Selected Eucerin at 40% off, 8 to 11 October. The Spotless Brightening Booster Serum 30ml shows RM142.80 against RM238.
  • WATSLive, Friday 9 October, 8pm to 10pm, hosted with Zakuan Zainal. The banner promises discount coupons up to RM150 and a free RM30 TNG eWallet reload PIN with a minimum spend of RM350 (members). A "coming soon" banner says the 10.10 coupons go live at 6pm on 9 October.

Payment offers (all 5 to 14 October)

  • PayLater by Grab: RM20 off a minimum spend of RM150, limited to 500 redemptions.
  • Atome: 10% off a minimum spend of RM100, capped at RM15.
  • Bank Muamalat cards: RM10 off a minimum spend of RM120.

Delivery is free once your order reaches the threshold. The campaign slider says the delivery discount is capped at RM7 with a minimum spend of RM50, while the site header says RM100 for W Mall orders.

How to use it, step by step

  1. Log in to the Watsons app or website. Member gifts and member prices need a Watsons Club account.
  2. Go to the Coupon Zone on the 10.10 page and press Claim on the RM30 coupon. Unclaimed coupons do not apply at checkout.
  3. Build your cart, then check each item's tag. Anything marked 50% off or more, Buy 1 Free 1, or from an excluded brand will not count towards the RM225.
  4. If you want a free gift, top up the qualifying brand subtotal. The gift threshold is counted after all coupons and point redemptions, so the RM30 coupon can push you back under it.
  5. At payment, pick Grab PayLater, Atome or a Bank Muamalat card if the discount suits your total. The terms do not say whether these stack with the RM30 coupon, so look at the final amount before you confirm.

Worked examples

These use prices shown on the campaign page on 8 October. Prices can change during the sale.

Skincare and toiletries cart (about RM238): Eucerin Spotless Brightening serum RM142.80, Tsubaki Premium Repair Hair Mask RM45.50, Listerine Cool Mint 750ml twin pack RM32.97 and Johnson's pH 5.5 body wash 750ml RM16.35 come to RM237.62. None of these is at 50% off or more, so the RM30 coupon applies and you pay RM207.62. The listed regular prices add up to RM371.90, so the saving is about 44% before any payment discount.

Baby and household cart: Huggies Dry Pants XL 40s (4 packs) at RM100.10 (listed at RM184.30) plus five Kotex Biocare overnight packs at RM3.90 each makes RM119.60. That is RM0.40 short of the RM10 Huggies and Kotex rebate, so a sixth Kotex pack (RM123.50 total) gets you RM10 off, to RM113.50, and the Huggies spend also clears the RM100 umbrella gift. This cart is a bad fit for the RM30 coupon, though: the Kotex price is a 50% markdown, which the terms exclude.

The 9 October livestream: the free RM30 TNG reload PIN needs RM350 in one order. Unless you were already planning a large restock, spending an extra RM100 to reach it is not a saving.

Who it suits, and who should skip it

Good for: people who already buy skincare, haircare and baby supplies online and can plan one larger order, Eucerin users (8 to 11 October is the window), and parents stocking up on Huggies who can also pick up the free umbrella.

Skip it if: you mostly shop in-store, since the campaign is online and app only. Skip it too if your usual brands are on the exclusion list. That list covers Ensure, Anlene, Brand's Essence of Chicken 70g in 18s and 30s, Skintific, Clio, Peripera, Rom&nd, Cezanne, Spoon Health and dozens more.

Fine print that trips people up

  • Online and app only. The terms say 5 to 14 October on Watsons Online and App.
  • Coupon exclusions. Upsize coupons do not apply to W Mall products, Buy 1 Free 1 items, items at 50% off or more, Orita Buy 3 Free 3, and the excluded brands.
  • Gifts are online-only and home delivery only. Click & Collect Express and 1-hour express delivery orders do not get a replacement gift. One gift per order, same day only.
  • While stocks last. This covers every promotion, so the popular coupons can run out early, as the RM10 one already has.
