> Quick view: AMZDEALS is still live, and the Ringgit prices below were unchanged when we re-checked the deals page on 10 October 2026. What has changed is what we can tell you about them. Re-checked on 1 September 2026 against seven of the packages' own published rate cards, every package is discounted by a flat 25% — not the 4% to 53% the deals page advertises. The badges are the gap between the dearest room type on a card and the cheapest one, which are different products. If you want to climb Mount Kinabalu, skip to the climb section: the operator's own booking site now beats these prices for October–December dates.
The 25% rule
Each card on the deals page shows a "Normal Rate", a "Best Price From" and a percentage. Open the package itself and you get its real rate card: a grid of prices by room type or group size, split into a Malaysia Market column and an International Market column, each line with its own struck-through normal rate.
On every package we opened, each individual line is exactly 25% off — the Sutera Harbour stay, the standard and budget Mount Kinabalu climbs, the Low's Peak Circuit combo, the Laban Rata dorm, the Kinabalu Park day tour and the Bohey Dulang hike. Twin or triple, adult or child, Malaysian or foreign: 25% off, everywhere.
The badge is something else. The 3D2N Sutera Harbour stay reads "53% OFF" because RM1,370 and RM650 both appear on that card — but on the package's own rate card, the normal rate against RM650 is RM870, and RM1,370 appears nowhere at all. The badge is comparing the top of one column with the bottom of another.
Two things follow, and the second one corrects advice we gave you in August:
- A big badge is not a big saving. Every package saves the same 25% against its own list price. Choose on what you want to do, not on which card shows the biggest number.
- A negative badge does not mean you are being overcharged. The two packages showing a minus sign are discounted like everything else. The 3D2N Low's Peak Circuit combo is RM4,320 down to RM3,240 on its own rate card (Malaysia market, group of 16–29); the 2D1N Kinabalu Park, Poring and Desa Cow Farm tour is RM960 down to RM735 (Malaysia market, group of 10–19). We previously told readers to book those two elsewhere. That advice was wrong and is withdrawn.
What the "from" price actually requires
"Best Price From" is the single cheapest cell on a rate card. Here is what each headline number actually needs, taken off the packages' own tables in Ringgit, Malaysia Market, per person:
- 3D2N Sutera Harbour + sunset cruise, RM650 — The Pacific Sutera, triple-sharing. Two adults in a twin pay RM890 each; a child sharing the bed is RM445, with an extra bed RM670; a solo traveller pays a RM1,380 single supplement. The Magellan Sutera is dearer: RM1,000 twin, RM700 triple. Non-Malaysians pay RM990 twin at the Pacific.
- 2D1N Mount Kinabalu Climb (Budget), RM1,190 — a group of 16 to 29 people. Four to six pay RM1,290 each, two or three RM1,390, and a single climber RM1,740.
- 2D1N Mount Kinabalu Climb, RM1,740 — again a group of 16 to 29. Two or three pay RM1,940 each; a single climber pays RM2,240.
- 2D1N Kinabalu Park + Poring + Desa Cow Farm, RM735 — a group of 10 to 19. A couple (2–3 pax) pays RM840 each; a child without a bed is RM440.
- Bohey Dulang hike, RM290 — adult, two people and above. This one is genuinely reachable for a couple, and a child is RM205.
- Laban Rata Resthouse dorm + meals, RM1,240 — one person, dorm bed. Also genuinely reachable. A private room for two is RM3,265.
- 3D2N Low's Peak Circuit, RM3,240 — group of 16 to 29. A single climber pays RM4,090.
For two Malaysians travelling together, the three prices on this page you can actually pay as advertised are the Bohey Dulang hike at RM290 per person, the sunset dinner cruise at RM230, and the Laban Rata dorm at RM1,240.
Currency: the label moves, the deal doesn't
The site defaults to Singapore Dollars for many visitors, and the same Sutera package reads 53% off in Ringgit but 17% off in Singapore Dollars. The prices themselves convert cleanly — SGD 442 to SGD 210 is the same 52.5% gap as RM1,370 to RM650. What breaks is the badge: the site puts the *percentage* through the currency conversion as if it were a price, so every badge in SGD is roughly the Ringgit badge divided by 3.1.
You are not getting a worse deal in another currency. But the Ringgit view is the only one where the printed percentage matches the printed prices, so set Malaysia Ringgit (MYR) — one of nine currencies in the footer selector — before you compare anything.
Kinabalu climbers: book the Year-End Promo instead
Amazing Borneo runs a separate live booking site for Mount Kinabalu at book.mountkinabalu.com, and for climbs between 1 October and 31 December 2026 it is cheaper than anything on the AMZDEALS page. Its group-price table for the standard 2D1N climb (ABK-MK01, Laban Rata stay, per person) reads, checked on 10 October 2026:
- Group of 16–29: RM1,390 Malaysian / RM2,390 international
- Group of 7–15: RM1,440 / RM2,440
- Group of 4–6: RM1,490 / RM2,490
- Group of 2–3: RM1,590 / RM2,590
- Solo climber: RM1,990 / RM2,990
The same package on the amazingborneo.com rate card is RM1,740, RM1,940 and RM2,240 for the largest group, a pair and a solo Malaysian. So a couple saves RM350 each (RM700 together) by booking the Year-End Promo instead.
What else the live site showed on 10 October 2026:
- The budget climb (ABK-MK201) is no longer listed. The RM1,190 headline on the deals page has no live booking behind it, so treat it as unavailable until it reappears.
- Standard climb dates are mostly open on weekdays. Between 10 October and 3 November, 16 dates were open and 9 were blocked, mostly Fridays to Sundays. Several open dates had only 5 slots left.
- #GETLUCKY is still RM1,788 flat but nearly full: only 3 open dates in October and about 5 a month in November and December. At RM1,788 it now costs more than the Year-End Promo for a pair (RM1,590), so it only makes sense for solo climbers.
- Laban Rata dorm and meals only is still RM1,240, with 11 open dates in October and 26 in November.
The booking page also shows a free commemorative T-shirt for climbs booked "for a limited time", with no end date given.
How it works
- Go to amazingborneo.com/deals and set the footer currency selector to Malaysia Ringgit (MYR).
- Open the package you want and scroll to its rate card. Find the row that matches your actual group size, room type and market — that is your price, not the headline.
- For any Mount Kinabalu package, cross-check book.mountkinabalu.com for open dates and live rates before you commit.
- Book. There is no promo-code box: the operator's own booking engine offers only "Reserve Now, Pay Later" and the rates shown are already net. AMZDEALS is the name on the banner, not a field you fill in.
Who this suits
- Groups of three or more. Every rate card is banded by group size, and the gap is real: three people sharing at the Pacific Sutera pay RM650 each against RM890 for two.
- Divers with Sipadan on the list. RM2,245 for the Sipadan-Kapalai Dive Resort is a genuine 25% off list, and the operator bundles the dive permits that are otherwise rationed.
- Day-trippers out of Semporna. RM290 for the Bohey Dulang hike with two islands is reachable at two people, no group needed.
- Couples climbing Mount Kinabalu between October and December. Book through book.mountkinabalu.com's Year-End Promo at RM1,590 each, not the RM1,940 AMZDEALS card.
Who should skip
- Solo climbers chasing the budget headline. RM1,190 needs sixteen people, and the budget package isn't on the live booking site at all. A single Malaysian climber pays RM1,990 under the Year-End Promo, or RM1,788 on a #GETLUCKY date if one is open.
- Anyone booking a Sutera stay for late December. The package's own rate card runs to 1 December 2026, three weeks short of the promo's advertised end date.
Fine print the deals page doesn't show
- Promotional rates must be paid in full. Standard bookings take a 50% deposit with the balance 45 days out, but the booking terms state plainly that 100% payment is required on confirmation for any package on a promotional rate. Via Ferrata bookings take a 70% deposit.
- Cancellation is expensive even months out. 30 days or more before departure forfeits 50% of the tour cost (70% for Via Ferrata); 15–29 days forfeits 75%; 8–14 days 85%; 4–7 days 95%; inside 4 days or a no-show, everything. Refunds take 90 to 120 working days.
- Changes cost money. Amendments are a minimum of RM50 per service per person, or RM150 for climb bookings, which also require documentary proof such as a medical letter.
- Card fees. Credit card payment is in Ringgit only and adds a 3% convenience fee. A US Dollar telegraphic transfer adds USD 25. Maybank and Hong Leong cards issued in Malaysia can be paid in instalments at a 5% bank charge over 6 or 12 months, 7% over 18 or 24.
- Peak-season surcharges on the Sutera package apply 1–3 May, 30 May – 19 July and 23 August – 30 September 2026.
- Tourism Tax of RM10 per room per night applies to non-Malaysians, payable at the hotel.
- 2027 climbs cost more. From 1 March 2027 the standard 2D1N climb rises to RM1,820 for the largest Malaysian group band, from RM1,740 in 2026.
- The "extra 70% off Borneo Rainforest Lodge" line is the blurb on the Danum Valley package, which is itself listed at RM8,900 down to RM7,270. It is copy about the lodge component, not a further cut on your total.
- Reservations are held 3–5 days for tours and only 2–3 days for Mount Kinabalu climbs from the date of the invoice.

Tips
- Set MYR first, then read the rate card, then check climb availability. In that order.
- Ignore the badge entirely. Compare packages on what the row you qualify for actually costs.
- If you only want the sunset dinner cruise, it is RM230 on its own — you don't need the resort bundle.
- Don't panic if the booking engine opens under a different name: the Sutera package still shows there as "3D2N Rest & Relax Sutera Harbour Resort Stay + Fun Island Tour". Same tour code, ABK-LS01.
