> Quick view: Berjaya Langkawi Resort's Christmas dinners went on sale on 3 November. The best-value choice changes by night: on 24 December the Beach Brasserie set is the cheapest at RM100 a head, while on 25 December the Dayang Café buffet falls to the same price. The separate New Year package closes on 30 November, so that is the date to act on first.
What each restaurant charges
All three restaurants serve from 6.30pm to 10.30pm on both nights. Every price includes a party pack and one glass of house wine, draught beer or soft drink, per the resort's Merry Feast by the Sea page.
- Dayang Café buffet, Thursday 24 December: RM150 per adult, RM75 per child aged 5 to 11.
- Dayang Café buffet, Friday 25 December: RM100 per adult, RM50 per child aged 5 to 11.
- Beach Brasserie, Seaside Noël Set, either night: RM200 for two people.
- Pahn Thai Restaurant, Sawasdee Christmas Set, either night: RM150 per adult, RM75 per child aged 5 to 11.
The resort has not published the menus on this page. It also does not define the party pack.
What it costs in practice
- Couple, 24 December: RM200 at Beach Brasserie, or RM300 at Dayang Café or Pahn Thai.
- Couple, 25 December: RM200 at either Beach Brasserie or Dayang Café, or RM300 at Pahn Thai.
- Couple, both nights: RM400 with the set on the 24th and the buffet on the 25th. Two buffets would cost RM500.
- Two adults and two children aged 5 to 11: RM450 for the buffet on the 24th, RM300 on the 25th, or RM450 at Pahn Thai on either night.
So a family saves RM150 by moving the buffet one night later. Beach Brasserie lists only a price for two, so a family should ask how it would charge the children.
Adding a room
We searched the resort's own booking engine on 3 November for two adults, one night at a time. On both 24 and 25 December, the Mystery Room with breakfast came to RM771.64 plus RM77.16 tax and fees, or RM848.80 a night. The room type is revealed only at check-in. The engine also offered a member price of RM694.48 plus RM69.45.
A couple staying two nights and eating as above would pay about RM2,117.60: RM1,697.60 for the room, RM20 for the RM10-a-night Langkawi Heritage Fee quoted in the resort's offer terms, and RM400 for dinners. That excludes flights and any tax the restaurants add. These room rates move, so treat them as a snapshot.
Rooms are already thinning out. For 24 December, only the Mystery Room, Rainforest Chalet and Premier Suite on Water appeared for our search, and the Rainforest Chalet showed "only 4 rooms left" for 25 December. All these rates carry a "Plan Ahead 45 days" label. If that means what it says, the rate for 24 December would end around 9 November, though the page we read does not print that deadline.
The New Year gala: read this before paying
Rainforest NYE Gala 2026 starts at RM2,318+ for two people. It covers one night on 31 December with breakfast and minibar, a beachfront countdown dinner, unlimited drinks, a party pack, fireworks, an Aboriginal cultural performance, dancing and a DJ. Booking closes on 30 November. If the 10% tax and fee line on the resort's room rates also applies, the total would be about RM2,549.80.
Ordinary rooms cost far more that night. A Mystery Room for 31 December showed RM2,769.78 plus RM276.98, or RM3,046.76, against RM848.80 a week earlier. Its description lists only the room, welcome drink, breakfast and minibar, and it does not explain the jump. Ask whether that rate includes the gala before you book it.
The gala package did not appear in the engine's Packages tab for 31 December when we searched. Phone the resort to book it, and get the total in writing, because full payment is non-refundable and no cancellations or changes are allowed.
Who it suits, and who should skip it
Good for: couples already visiting Langkawi over the Christmas weekend, since 25 December falls on a Friday, and families who can eat on the 25th instead of the 24th.
Skip it if: you can travel earlier. The resort's Tropical Forest Indulgence is from RM1,640 nett for two people and two nights, with daily breakfast and a set dinner each night or RM150 of food and drink credit per adult per day. It must be booked by 20 December for stays to 22 December. With the heritage fee, that is about RM1,660, or RM457.60 below our Christmas example, though you miss the festive dinners. Families can look at Little One's Endless Fun, from RM1,210 nett for two adults and one child for two nights, on the same dates.
Questions to ask when you call
- Are prices nett? The Christmas page shows neither "nett" nor "+", while other offers from this resort use one or the other.
- Can non-residents dine? The page neither limits the dinners to hotel guests nor confirms that outside guests are welcome.
- What do children under 5 pay? Only ages 5 to 11 are priced.
- What happens if it rains? The resort's private beach dinners carry a bad-weather relocation term. The Christmas page says nothing about seating at Beach Brasserie.
- Is the food halal? The page does not say, and house wine and draught beer are among the included drinks.
Year-end school holidays start on 4 December for Group A and 5 December for Group B, so expect competition for tables. If you need a car, December is also peak season for Langkawi car rental.
