> Quick view: the Biggest Health, Beauty & Baby Expo is on at MVEC, Mid Valley Southkey JB from Friday 30 October to Sunday 1 November 2026, 10am to 10pm. BIG Pharmacy and CARiNG Pharmacy sponsor it. The headline deals are 80% off Hada Labo's sleeping mask and Skin Aqua's tone-up UV spray, about 30 buy-1-free-1 lines, a RM5 + RM5 coupon set per RM100 receipt, and a free Milo 400g once you spend RM188 and collect booth stamps.
This is the Johor Bahru edition of the pharmacy expo that BIG and CARiNG (the two chains sit in the same group) run a few times a year. Earlier in October it was a one-line "up to 80%" poster. Since then the organiser has put full price lists, gift tiers and the lucky draw prize list on its official expo site, so you can now plan a basket before you go. Every RSP and percentage below comes from those pages. The final prices are our own arithmetic, so expect a few sen of rounding at the till.
What is actually on sale
The 80% off list is mostly 40% to 50% off, with a handful of deeper cuts. The deepest, off the RSP printed by the organiser:
- Hada Labo Hydrating Sleeping Mask 80g: RSP RM98.90, 80% off, so about RM19.78.
- Sunplay Skin Aqua Tone Up UV Spray 70g: RSP RM56.90, 80% off, about RM11.38.
- Haircarebear Gummies 60s: RSP RM99.90, 70% off, about RM29.97.
- Xndo Goodnight X-Lim 20ml 15s: RSP RM119, 60% off, about RM47.60.
- 50% off lines include Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF50 50g (RSP RM34.95), Garnier Bright Complete Booster Serum 30ml (RM47.90), L'Oreal Glycolic-Bright Instant Glowing Serum 30ml (RM94.90), Dettol shower gel 900g (RM24.50), Sunsilk shampoo 625ml (RM26.50), Laurier Super Slimguard value packs (RM24), Selsun Blue 120ml (RM30.50) and Liese Blaune hair colour (RM30.20).
- 40% to 45% off covers everyday refills: Dove, Pantene and GVC shampoos, Schick Intuition razors, Gillette Mach 3, A.Life soaps and NetCare hand wash.
The buy-1-free-1 list has the better value for stock-up shoppers, because several are supplements and skincare you would otherwise buy at full price. Examples: Swisse Ultiboost Calcium + Vitamin D3 90s (ASP RM72, so two tubs for RM72), Swisse Ultiboost Cranberry 30s (RM58.90), Kordel's Estomac 30s (RM49.90), L'Oreal Extraordinary Oil 100ml (RM61.90), L'Oreal Full Resist shampoo or conditioner 440ml (RM53.50), Garnier Micellar Water 400ml (RM34.90 or RM43.50 depending on variant) and Bio-Essence body lotion 300ml (RM35.90). There are also cheap house-brand pairs, such as BIG gel hand wash 500ml at RM6.90 for two.
Gifts, coupons and the lucky draw
- Welcome coupon: a RM8 coupon on a minimum RM150 purchase, valid 30 October to 1 November. The expo page says you qualify by liking and sharing the expo's social media or downloading the BIG or CARiNG app.
- Stamp card: pick it up at the registration counter. Seven stamps from selected booths get you the welcome goodies bag (500 a day).
- Free Milo 400g: spend RM188 at the expo and collect at least 7 stamps. First 500 a day. (One gift panel says 4 stamps; the dedicated Milo page and the stamp card both say 7, so plan on 7.)
- Free A.Life Refreshing Shower Oil: spend RM338, first 500 a day.
- Free four-wheel foldable shopping trolley: spend RM888, first 200 a day.
- Coupon set: every RM100 on a single receipt earns a RM5 BIG coupon, a RM5 CARiNG coupon (minimum RM50 spend) and a lucky draw ticket, but the small print limits it to one redemption per customer.
- Lucky draw: the grand draw has 1 iPhone 18 Pro (worth RM5,499), 1 DJI Osmo Pocket 3 (RM1,559), 2 Electrolux 6.9L air fryers (RM939), 2 Niko Neko matcha starter kits (RM598) and 6 BIG & CARiNG RM500 cash vouchers. Daily draws give away 5 Xiaomi 6L hot pot cookers (RM349), 1 stryv MiniStyler (RM299) and 5 Jaya Grocer RM150 gift cards. Winners are announced on the expo's social media.
- Free Gift Frenzy: brand booths hand out extra gifts (Brand's essence, Banana Boat totes, tynor bags and more) while stocks last. The page does not give the spend for each, so ask at the booth.
- Free carry service: BIG has said on Facebook there will be a counter to help carry your haul.
A worked RM150 basket
Say you are restocking a household's bathroom and sunscreen:

That comes to about RM154.49 for goods with a combined RSP of about RM402.45. Because it is over RM100 on one receipt, you also collect the coupon set and a lucky draw ticket. It also clears the RM150 floor for the RM8 welcome coupon. Add one Swisse Calcium + D3 pair (RM72 for two) and you reach RM226.49, which clears the RM188 Milo tier as long as you have your seven stamps.
Stage shows and meet-and-greets
The organiser's live-show page lists one headline stage slot each day (times "subject to change"):
- Friday 30 October, 5pm to 6pm: Resurge meet-and-greet and signing with actor Alif Satar, with a chance to win an Alif Satar x Resurge jersey.
- Saturday 31 October, 3pm to 3:30pm: DESLY skincare sharing with founder and licensed pharmacist Ly Huy, with giveaways for attendees.
- Saturday 31 October, 4pm to 5pm: Maq Lai x Deepfeel Live, with stage games and prizes.
- Sunday 1 November, 11am: Pauyuan "Modern Herbal Wellness" with ambassador Ah Xian (Yang Jia Xian) on stage, stage activities with prizes and a free TCM pulse consultation.
If you want a stage slot and a freebie on the same trip, Sunday's 11am show lines up with the morning, before the daily gift caps run out.
Who it is for, and who can skip it
Go if you already buy these brands, live in JB or can pop across from Singapore for a weekend, or have kids. The expo also runs a Mini Career Town for children: RM10 per child for four stations (little pharmacist, nutritionist, builder and chef), with a goodie bag at the end. Only one adult may go in with each child.
Skip it if you mostly want one or two items. The percentages are off RSP, and BIG and CARiNG already sell many of these lines below RSP online and in store, so a 40% "discount" can be close to an ordinary promotion price. Check the BIG or CARiNG app for the everyday price of anything over RM50 before you queue for it.
Fine print that trips people up
- Daily caps. The Milo, shower oil and goodies bag stop at 500 a day, and the trolley at 200. Saturday afternoon is when they run out, so Friday or Sunday morning is safer.
- Single receipt. The RM100 coupon set and the spend gifts are tied to one receipt, so pay for a family's haul together rather than in separate transactions.
- One coupon set per person. Spending RM300 does not get you three sets.
- Stocks last. Every list carries "while stocks last, first come, first served", and the deepest 80% items are the most likely to sell out on day one.
- RSP, not shelf price. As above, compare against the app before treating 40% off as a bargain.
