> Quick view: Laketown Waterpark at Bukit Merah is charging a flat RM23 for waterpark admission, adult or child, to anyone showing a Perak, Penang, Kedah, Perlis, Kelantan, Terengganu or Pahang ID card, from 19 October to 19 November 2026. The campaign is Salam 7 Negeri 4.0, and it takes over from the northern-only Cheq Oghang Utagha 5.0, which ran at the same price until 18 October. Tickets are walk-in only at the waterpark ticketing counter, ten per ID card.

What changed on 19 October
The first version of this article covered Cheq Oghang Utagha 5.0, northern dialect for "I'm a northerner": RM23 waterpark tickets for Perak, Kedah, Penang and Perlis residents, 18 September to 18 October 2026. That offer is over.
The resort replaced it the next day with Salam 7 Negeri 4.0. The price, the walk-in rule and the ten-ticket cap carry over unchanged. What is different:
- Three more states. Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang ID holders now qualify, alongside the original four northern states.
- New dates. Sale and usage both run 19 October to 19 November 2026.
- A new online ticket. The Splashing Funcation online promotion ended on 30 September. Since 1 October the resort's online offer has been Gempak Holiday, at the same RM30 adult and RM25 child.
How it works
- Bring the ID card of a Perak, Penang, Kedah, Perlis, Kelantan, Terengganu or Pahang resident.
- Go to the waterpark ticketing counter on the day of your visit. There is no online booking at this price.
- Pay RM23 per ticket, adult or child, up to ten tickets per ID card presented.
- The ticket covers waterpark admission only. Lockers, tubes and cabanas are rented separately.
The resort ties the cap to "the ID card presented", not to each person entering. That reads as though one qualifying adult can buy for a party of ten, but the page does not say whether every person in that party must also come from one of the seven states. If your group is mixed, ask at the counter before you pay.
What you actually save
The waterpark's standard gate rates are unchanged:
- RM40 adult and RM30 child, with MyKad
- RM45 adult and RM35 child, without MyKad
- RM25 special pass for Malaysian senior citizens aged 60 and above and for disabled visitors (MyKad and OKU card at the counter)
The child rate applies to children above 90cm or aged 12 and below. Children under 90cm get in free, so do not buy them a ticket.
Against the MyKad gate price, RM23 works out as:
- Adult: RM40 down to RM23, saving RM17 (about 43%)
- Child: RM30 down to RM23, saving RM7 (about 23%)
- Senior or disabled visitor: RM25 down to RM23, saving RM2
Salam 7 Negeri or Gempak Holiday?
The resort's other current promotion is Gempak Holiday, an online ticket open to anyone, sold and used from 1 October. The promos page gives the end date as "3 January 2026", which can only mean 3 January 2027, since the sale started in October 2026. Its waterpark ticket is RM30 adult and RM25 child.
- ID from one of the seven states: walk-in RM23 beats online Gempak Holiday by RM7 per adult and RM2 per child. You give up the certainty of buying ahead.
- ID from anywhere else (Selangor, KL, Johor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Sabah, Sarawak): Gempak Holiday at RM30 and RM25 is your cheapest waterpark ticket, RM10 per adult under the MyKad gate price.
- Visiting after 19 November: Gempak Holiday is the only discounted waterpark ticket listed, unless the resort posts another state campaign.
The arithmetic on a real family
Two adults and two children, all with qualifying ID, on a Saturday:
- At the MyKad gate rate: RM40 + RM40 + RM30 + RM30 = RM140
- On Salam 7 Negeri: four tickets at RM23 = RM92, a saving of RM48
- On Gempak Holiday online: RM30 + RM30 + RM25 + RM25 = RM110
So the walk-in rate still saves that family RM18 against the online ticket. Two adults alone come down from RM80 to RM46. A group of ten adults on one ID card comes down from RM400 to RM230.
Adding Animal Paradise or a hotel night
Animal Paradise is charged separately at RM15 adult and RM13 child, walk-in at its own counter. Gempak Holiday also sells an online combo covering both parks at RM43 adult and RM35 child:
- A qualifying adult does better buying separately: RM23 + RM15 = RM38, five ringgit under the RM43 combo
- For a qualifying child the combo just wins: RM23 + RM13 = RM36, against RM35
- Without a qualifying ID, the RM43/RM35 combo beats paying gate prices for both parks
The Lake Cruise is RM25 adult and RM15 child, walk-in at the recreation counter.
For an overnight trip, Gempak Holiday lists three 2D1N room packages, each including breakfast and waterpark admission:
- Laketown Hotel Standard Room: RM258
- Laketown Hotel Deluxe Room: RM318, adds a meal voucher
- Kampung Air Studio Suite: RM428, adds a meal voucher
The page does not say how many guests' waterpark admission each package covers, so confirm that with the resort (+605 890 8888) before comparing it with separate RM23 tickets.
When you can actually go
- Monday, Wednesday and Thursday: 12:00pm to 5:00pm
- Friday to Sunday: 10:00am to 6:00pm
- School and public holidays: 10:00am to 6:00pm
- Closed on Tuesdays for maintenance, except public and school holidays
The waterpark closes 15 minutes before the published closing time. A Monday or Thursday gives you about four hours and forty-five minutes of water, a Saturday nearly eight, for the same RM23. For a long drive in from Kelantan, Terengganu or Pahang, a weekend visit, or an overnight stay on a Gempak Holiday package, makes far more of the ticket.
Who should skip this
- Anyone without a qualifying ID: use the online Gempak Holiday ticket instead.
- Seniors and disabled visitors: the RM25 special pass is only RM2 more.
- Parents of children under 90cm: those children are free.
- Anyone who needs tickets confirmed before leaving home: there is no online version of the RM23 rate.

- Walk-in purchase only, at the waterpark ticketing counter.
- Up to ten tickets per ID card presented.
- Rates and operating hours are subject to change and cancellation without prior notice, per the resort's own pages.
