Status: the reopening promotion and last week's sale have both ended

Guardian's reopening promotion at Gurney Paragon Mall ran 31 July to 30 August 2026 and is over. The Syok-ing Sale that carried the shelf after it ran 10 to 14 September and is over too. The outlet itself is trading: Guardian's own store locator lists it at 163D-LG-07 & 08, Gurney Paragon Mall, Persiaran Gurney, 10250 Penang, and the mall opens 10am to 10pm daily. It is one of 32 Guardian outlets the locator files under Pulau Pinang.

The discounts at the Gurney Paragon shelf now come from Guardian's national weekly window. Everything below was checked on 15 September 2026 against guardian.com.my, Guardian's terms portal at guardianmy.com, and gurneyparagon.com.

What is live at the shelf: Beauty Days, 15 to 21 September

Guardian's campaign artwork for this window is dated 15 to 21 September 2026 and carries three lines, all marked "terms and conditions apply, while stocks last":

  • All Cosmetics: save 50%
  • All Skin Care: save up to 40%
  • All Hair, Bath & Oral Care: save 40%

The window runs seven days, longer than the recent five- and six-day windows, and takes in the Malaysia Day holiday on Wednesday 16 September. Guardian's written terms went up on guardianmy.com later on 15 September, titled "Beauty Days & Syok-ing Sales Deals! (15 - 21 September 2026)". Besides the three Beauty Days lines, it keeps two Syok-ing lines: All Skin Care save up to 40% and Health Care save up to 40%, both for participating brands and ranges only.

Two categories from last week are gone: deodorant and sanitary protection have no line this week. Health care stays, but "up to 40%" on participating brands is narrower than last week's pool, so plenty of vitamins now sit on smaller markdowns, as the basket below shows.

How deep the headline really goes

"Save 50%" reads as a flat rate, so we priced every product in the three pools on guardian.com.my on 15 September. The pools total 4,214 products, and 603 of them are not reduced at all:

  • All Cosmetics (1,298 products): only 346 (27%) are at 50%. The largest group, 417, is at 30%, then 218 at 40% and 133 at 20%, while 125 are at full price, among them L'Oréal Color Riche Slim Matte Intense at RM63.50. At the other end, 32 go past 50%: L'Oréal Voluminous Lash Paradise mascara is RM20.70 against RM69.00, and SilkyGirl Big Eye Collagen Mascara is an exact half at RM15.95.
  • All Skin Care (1,799): 541 at 40% and 552 at 30%. The "up to" is honest as a ceiling, but 225 products are at full price and 61 go deeper than 40%, mostly Wardah (Hydra Rose Petal Infused Toner 100ml at RM19.75 against RM39.50). Bioré UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence 50g, pictured on the poster, is 30% off at RM24.50. Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Cleansing Oil 200ml is RM39.30 against RM65.50.
  • All Hair, Bath & Oral Care (1,117): the most honest line, with 705 products (63%) at exactly 40% and none deeper. Sunsilk Shampoo 625ml is RM15.90 against RM26.50, Dove Body Wash 1L is RM15.54 against RM25.90, and Colgate Optic White Purple 100g is RM9.60 against RM16.00. But 253 products are at full price, including Sensodyne Fresh Mint 100g (RM13.55) and Listerine Cool Mint 250ml (RM12.10), despite "All" in the headline.

These are website prices. Check the shelf tag at Gurney Paragon before you pay, because not every product is carried at every store.

What changed from last week, in ringgit

Last week's three-item restock was Sunsilk Shampoo 625ml, Neurobion 60s and Kordel Effervescent Vitamin C 1000mg + D3 10s. It cost RM76.02 during the Syok-ing Sale. On 15 September the same basket costs RM88.47:

  • Sunsilk 625ml: RM15.90, unchanged, because hair care is still at 40%
  • Neurobion 60s: RM49.53 (35% off RM76.20), up from RM45.72
  • Kordel Vitamin C + D3 10s: RM23.04 (20% off RM28.80), up from RM14.40

That is still RM43.03 (33%) under the RM131.50 normal price, but RM12.45 more than a week ago. Deodorant shows the same drop: Rexona Men Arctic 135ml is 20% off at RM15.44, after a flat 30% on almost every deodorant last week.

For the record, the ended reopening rebate would have added 5% on top, which is RM4.42 on this basket. The weekly window was always the bigger lever.

What happened to the 2X MyPoints

The reopening doubled points storewide for MYguardian members, and that has ended. Guardian's rewards menu still runs a standing Extra Member Points pool of 2,448 products on 15 September, beside a separate Member Exclusive Offers pool of 1,532. Scan the MYguardian card or app before payment if you want either.

Online orders: Gurney Paragon is not a pickup point

Guardian's click-and-collect list has 61 stores nationwide, and six of them are in Penang: Gurney Plaza (Lot 170-B1-05, Basement 1), 1st Avenue, E-Gate, Solaria Square, Sunway Carnival Prai and Auto City Prai. Gurney Paragon is not one of them, so the nearest collection counter for a guardian.com.my order is the Gurney Plaza Guardian on the same stretch of Gurney Drive.

That matters this week because of an online-only sale. Mid-Month Madness runs 14 to 17 September under Guardian's Online Exclusives, up to 60% off a 79-product pool. Its codes are capped:

  • MM8SP: RM8 off a RM80 spend, limited to 100 redemptions
  • MM18SP: RM18 off a RM150 spend, limited to 50 redemptions
  • An extra RM5 off Enercal Complete 850g (1,000 redemptions) and an extra 5% on four Toujours drinks and jellies

None of it applies at the Gurney Paragon counter. Last week's 9.9 Mega Sale has gone from Guardian's promotions menu. If you are not collecting:

  • Delivery: RM7 for up to 3kg in Peninsular Malaysia, plus RM1 for every extra kg, and free above RM100 on the website and app.
  • First app order: code FIRSTAPP12 takes RM12 off a first purchase of RM100 or more on the Guardian app, one use per registered account. The campaign artwork caps it at 100 redemptions in total, so it may already be gone.

Gurney Paragon's own Mid-Autumn offer

The mall runs its own campaign on top, 9 to 27 September 2026 in the Level 1 atrium, unchanged on its events page on 15 September. Mid-Autumn Spend & Redeem gives one festive experience for a RM150 single receipt, from lantern making and bookmark painting to mooncake candle making and snow skin mooncake making, subject to availability. A separate Mid-Autumn Festivities programme runs in the same atrium.

The mall's page does not say which tenants' receipts qualify. RM150 at Guardian is a large basket even at 40% off, so ask at the atrium counter before you build one around it.

Who should go this week, and who should wait

Go before Monday 21 September if you are restocking shampoo, body wash or toothpaste. Hair, bath and oral care is the one line where most products really are at the headline rate. It also suits a makeup haul, if you check each tag: a quarter of cosmetics are at 50%, and one in ten isn't reduced at all. A Guardian run pairs easily with the mall's Mid-Autumn activities before 27 September.

Wait if your list is vitamins, deodorant or sanitary products. Those were deeper last week, and this window doesn't cover them. Order online instead if you can use MM8SP or MM18SP before 17 September and collect at Gurney Plaza.

Guardian at Gurney Paragon, for the record

Guardian's Facebook announcement set out three reopening perks, running 31 July to 30 August 2026:

  • An extra 5% storewide instant rebate on a single receipt of RM50 or more, open to all shoppers
  • 2X MyPoints for Guardian members on storewide purchases
  • A free Guardian reusable bag with a RM30 single-receipt spend, limited to the first 50 customers each day

No coupon was part of it. Guardian's KIPMall Senawang reopening (7 to 20 August) did carry a free RM5 coupon, which is why the question keeps coming up. The weekly windows since then:

  • 20 to 25 and 26 to 31 August: Beauty Days, All Cosmetics save 50%
  • 2 to 7 September: Buy 2 Free 1 Mix & Match
  • 10 to 14 September: Syok-ing Sale, six lines including Health Care up to 40%, All Deodorant 30% and Sanitary Protection up to 30%. All 3,963 products we priced on 11 September were marked down, averaging about 30%.
  • 15 to 21 September: Beauty Days again, three lines

Fine print

  • Beauty Days covers the three lines on the artwork only, terms apply, and everything is while stocks last. "All" still leaves 603 products at full price online.
  • The "Win RM300,000 in Prizes" tile still sits in Guardian's rewards menu, but its own artwork dates the contest 29 April to 2 June 2026. It is over.
  • MM8SP, MM18SP, FIRSTAPP12 and the weekday online deals do not apply at the Gurney Paragon counter.
  • Free delivery above RM100 applies in Peninsular Malaysia only; Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan have a different rate card.
