> Quick view: Proton's Year-End Drive Fiesta runs until 30 November 2026. The maximums are RM13,000 on the X50 and X70, RM10,000 on the S70, RM9,000 on the X90 and RM1,800 on the Saga. With no car to trade in, those fall to RM11,000, RM9,000, RM7,000 and RM1,500.
The RM13,000 on Proton's banner is a ceiling that only two of the five models can reach. The more useful number is what your chosen car gets, with or without a trade-in, and how far that moves the price you were already quoted.
Proton's campaign page gives the overall caps. Its model-by-model posters give the splits below.
What each model gets
Each line shows the cash rebate, the trade-in rebate and the year-end bonus. All are "up to" figures.
- All-New X50: RM9,000 + RM2,000 + RM2,000 = RM13,000. Without a trade-in: RM11,000.
- X70: RM9,000 + RM2,000 + RM2,000 = RM13,000. Without a trade-in: RM11,000.
- S70: RM7,000 + RM1,000 + RM2,000 = RM10,000. Without a trade-in: RM9,000.
- X90: RM7,000 + RM2,000, with no bonus on the poster = RM9,000. Without a trade-in: RM7,000.
- All-New Saga: RM500 + RM300 + RM1,000 = RM1,800. Without a trade-in: RM1,500.
Proton's page also calls the third component a "November Bonus", while the posters say "Year-End Bonus". They appear to be the same item. The Persona and Iriz appear on Proton's interest form but have no campaign poster, and the e.MAS range is not mentioned, so don't assume any of these qualify.
What that does to the price
These sums start from the entry prices on Proton's model pages and in launch reports (Peninsular Malaysia, on the road without insurance). They assume every maximum applies, so treat them as the best case, not a quote.
- Saga from RM38,990: RM37,490 without a trade-in, RM37,190 with one. That is about 4.6% off at most.
- S70 1.5TD from RM79,800: RM70,800 without, RM69,800 with. About 12.5% at most.
- X50 Executive at RM89,800: RM78,800 without, RM76,800 with. About 14.5% at most, but see the next section.
- X70 Executive at RM106,800: RM95,800 without, RM93,800 with. About 12.2% at most.
- X90 Lite at RM106,800: RM99,800 without, RM97,800 with. About 8.4% at most.
The last two start at the same list price, yet the X70 can end up RM4,000 lower because the X90 has no bonus. The X90's RM99,800 is also the price it launched at in March 2026, so a buyer with no trade-in is not getting below that launch number.
What does it mean each month? On an illustrative nine-year loan at a flat 3%, every RM1,000 off the amount borrowed saves about RM11.76 a month. So RM11,000 is about RM129 a month, and the Saga's RM1,500 is about RM18. Your rate will differ, and this flat versus effective rate guide explains why it matters.
The X50 number that does not add up
The X50 poster says pricing starts from RM79,800. Proton's model page lists the X50 from RM89,800. The gap is exactly RM10,000, and no combination of RM9,000, RM2,000 and RM2,000 makes RM10,000.
So at least one component is probably below its cap on the entry variant, or the poster is using a different base. Neither Proton page explains it. If you are looking at an X50 Executive, ask the sales advisor to show how RM79,800 is built up and whether a trade-in is needed to reach it.
How to claim it, step by step
- Pick the exact variant first. The splits are "up to", so a figure for one variant may not apply to another.
- Test drive at a Proton showroom, or register your interest on the campaign page and let an outlet call you. Proton's customer care line is 1-800-88-8398.
- Ask for a written breakdown showing cash rebate, trade-in rebate and bonus as separate lines.
- Ask what must happen by 30 November. Proton's page only says "Until 30th November 2026". It does not say whether that means booking, loan approval or registration. Earlier Proton offers, including the S70 launch rebates, were tied to registration.
- Get your loan moving on the day you book, and ask what happens to the rebate if your car is not delivered in time.
A trade-in rebate is not your trade-in price
The trade-in rebate sits on top of whatever the outlet pays for your old car, so compare the whole offer. Here is a made-up example. A used-car buyer offers RM18,000 for your car. The outlet offers RM16,500 plus the RM2,000 rebate, which is RM18,500 in total. You are only RM500 ahead, not RM2,000.
Get one outside valuation before you visit. If your car is over 20 years old and no longer roadworthy, note that the RM4,000 old-car grant ran out within three months, according to the Transport Minister in August, so ask whether any round is open before counting on it.
Who should move, and who can wait
Good timing: you have already settled on an X50 or X70, your loan is likely to clear quickly, and you have a car to trade in. These two carry the largest amounts. Buyers choosing between the X70 and X90 should also price both, since the X90's lack of a bonus narrows its appeal unless you need the seven seats. Launch reports also say the 2026 X90 dropped ADAS, so check that if driver aids matter to you.
No need to rush: Saga buyers, since RM1,500 is not worth accepting a colour or variant you don't want. S70 1.5 Lite and Prime buyers already have a separate RM3,000 early bird reward until 31 December, and the poster does not say whether the November amounts apply to those two variants. RM13,000 was also the ceiling on Proton's September campaign, so this is a recurring level rather than a one-off. That is no promise about December, only a reason not to let a deadline rush a loan you can't comfortably carry.
Fine print that trips people up
- "Up to" appears on every figure, and the posters carry only "Terms and conditions apply".
- Prices exclude insurance, so budget for it in the first year.
- East Malaysia usually costs more. The X70 Executive is RM108,800 there against RM106,800 in the Peninsula, and the S70 1.5 is also RM2,000 higher. Ask for the local price before doing the sums.
- Check any figure above RM13,000. At least one dealer website advertises up to RM15,000 on the X50 and X70, which is RM2,000 above Proton's own ceiling. Ask what the extra RM2,000 is and get it in writing.
- Don't assume other offers stack. Ask about insurance perks, financing rates and old rebates individually.
