October at Pullman Kuching is pink. The hotel has shaped its dining calendar around Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the anchor is a cause-driven Sunday buffet that happens to be one of the better-value hotel hi-teas in Kuching right now.
Pinktober Sunday Hi-Tea at Culina
Every Sunday in October (4, 11, 18 and 25), Culina lays out a pink-themed hi-tea buffet from 12pm to 3pm. The hotel's own flyer prices it at RM108+ per adult, RM54+ per child and RM78+ per senior citizen, the plus meaning service charge and tax are added on top. The hotel says RM10 from each paying adult goes to the Sarawak Breast Cancer Support Group, the state's long-running patient support charity.
The spread is broader than the pink theme suggests: seafood on ice (prawns, crabs, mussels, white clams), a Bavarian platter with smoked duck and smoked salmon, a noodle station doing Sarawak laksa and mee kolo with Angus beef, live carving (schnitzel, Nurnberger sausages, roasted duck), ayam pansuh and nasi goreng dabai among the local mains, and the pink desserts the flyer leads with: pink velvet cupcakes, strawberry lychee cake and mini rose pavlova, next to an ABC and cendol station.

Nu Er Hong: pepper season
The hotel's Chinese fine-dining restaurant (which bills itself as Borneo's only halal Chinese fine-dining room) runs a Sarawak pepper special from 5 October to 31 December: smoked chicken with fish maw braised in Sarawak black and white pepper broth. Alongside it sit six signature dim sum creations, including scallop and mushroom siu mai, crispy unagi roll with salted egg yolk and crispy salmon yam puff, priced between RM16 and RM30 a portion on the restaurant's current menu.
Say Cheese! at The Junction
Cheese fondue, served daily from 6pm to 10pm until 31 October. The hotel has not published a price for this one, so ask when booking.
