> Every price in this guide was read on 27 September 2026 from the hotel's own channel: SevenRooms booking pages for Hilton Kuching and Sheraton Kuching, The Waterfront's own website, and the official Instagram accounts of Grand Margherita and Pullman Kuching. Where a hotel only prints "RM75+", we say so rather than guess the final bill. Nothing here comes from buffet round-up blogs, several of which still list Kuching buffets that have not run for years.
Ask for "the best hotel buffet in Kuching" and you will be pointed at spreads that no longer exist. Imperial Hotel's often-quoted Saturday buffet comes from a 2019 post; its only 2026 buffet was during Ramadan. Merdeka Palace's social accounts have been quiet since 2018. Riverside Majestic's Puteri Wing lists no offers at all. What survives is smaller and more specific than the round-ups suggest, and it has a clear shape: one weekend dinner buffet, and a handful of weekend hi-teas.
That matters for how you choose. In Kuala Lumpur or Kota Kinabalu you pick a hotel buffet by comparing dinner spreads. In Kuching you are mostly choosing an afternoon: which day, how much seafood you actually want, and whether "RM75+" or "RM98 nett" is really the cheaper number.
How to read the prices
- Nett or plus. Hilton, Sheraton and The Waterfront quote nett prices, so the number is the bill. Grand Margherita, Pullman and Riverside Majestic quote "+" prices, which means service charge and tax are added, and none of their posts states the rate. Compare a "+" price as if it were meaningfully higher than it looks.
- Who counts as a child. Grand Margherita, The Waterfront and Riverside Majestic define a child as 6 to 12. Hilton, Sheraton and Pullman print a child price without an age band on their current listings, so ask when you book.
- Prepayment. Hilton takes full prepayment, non-refundable (it will try to reschedule). Sheraton takes a deposit that is forfeited if you cancel within 24 hours. The others take reservations by phone or WhatsApp.
- Day of the week. Grand Margherita is Saturday only, Pullman was Sunday only, and Hilton's dinner is Friday and Saturday. Only Hilton's and Sheraton's hi-teas run on both weekend days.
The six entries below are ordered from the most to the least certain to be running when you go.
How to pick
- For a family on a budget: Grand Margherita on a Saturday, where a child aged 6 to 12 is RM43+. Call extension 1158 first and ask what the "+" comes to.
- For the most food per ringgit: Sheraton's Nomadic at RM98 nett. It is the only spread here that publishes a full menu, and its noodle station includes the Sarawak laksa that visitors come for.
- For a celebration dinner: Hilton's Friday or Saturday dinner at RM238 nett, the only regular dinner buffet in the city centre. Book online and accept that the payment is final.
- For a group of ten or more: The Waterfront on 31 October, where the eleventh adult eats free.
- If a date matters: anything marked "confirm first" below is exactly that. Kuching's hotels change their buffet line-up month by month, and the Instagram post, not the website, is usually where the change appears first.
