> Status on 28 September 2026: Merdeka Cara Kita, Resorts World Genting's National Day and Malaysia Day campaign, ended on 16 September, and the two offers that followed it (the Lanternverse night park and the Malaysia Day Super Savings flash sale) are over too. The line most readers came for is now firmer than it was: the RM38 Genting SkyWorlds ticket for seniors 60+, children 90–110cm and OKU guests has dropped its Merdeka name and now reads "Until 31.12.2026". The next dated event up the hill is Haunted Highlands, 1 October to 1 November, whose early-bird prices end on 29 September.

Is Merdeka Cara Kita still on?

No. The campaign was a hub of about a dozen separate offers, and they ended in stages: the Voice of National Day concert on 29 August, the Awana programme and 31 Tuah Merdeka on 31 August, and the last SkyAvenue and dining pieces on 16 September. On 28 September, Resorts World Genting's Hot Deals index carries no Merdeka offer at all. The tile that used to read "Celebrate Merdeka at Genting SkyWorlds Theme Park!" is now "Celebrate at Genting SkyWorlds Theme Park!", and the page describes the RM38 rate as inspired by the spirit of Malaysia MADANI rather than National Day.

If you searched for the campaign because you want a cheaper day at the theme park, the useful part survived, and it now has a date you can plan around.

RM38 at Genting SkyWorlds, now until 31 December

Re-read on 28 September, the Genting SkyWorlds Malaysian Rate card lists:

  • Standard, online: RM88 ("SAVE RM80"), only if bought at least one day ahead, with three Virtual Queue reservations
  • Standard, walk-in or same day: RM168, with three Virtual Queue reservations and a RM10 F&B or retail e-voucher
  • Child, Senior or Guest with Disabilities: RM38, online or walk-in, with three Virtual Queue reservations

The renamed Celebrate page prints the same RM38 for Child / Senior / Guest with Disabilities / Anak Pahang, and its date line changed from "From 17.08.2026" to "Until 31.12.2026". Child means 90cm to 110cm tall, senior means 60 or older, and OKU guests need a disability certificate. Children below 90cm get in free. Every Malaysian rate is checked against a physical MyKad at the gate, and buying the wrong category costs a surcharge based on the walk-in rate.

So the question is no longer whether RM38 will vanish next week. It is simply a matter of going before the end of the year, and avoiding Tuesdays and the cable-car closure dates below.

Two other ways in for less than RM88

  • Anak Pahang 2026, RM38 for the whole group. Standard, child and OKU tickets are all RM38, but walk-in only, at the ticketing counter or a self-service kiosk. It only works for MyKad numbers with Pahang birthplace codes 06, 32 or 33 (digits seven and eight), so it depends on where you were born, not where you live.
  • Kad Pekerja MADANI, RM65. A standard one-day ticket, sold at the ticketing counter only, valid 1 January to 31 December 2026. One ticket per card per day, and it can't be combined with other offers. The "2026 GSW x Malaysia Madani Offer" tile was still on the Hot Deals index on 28 September. For anyone not born in Pahang, it is the only walk-in price that beats RM88 online.

Haunted Highlands 2026: what it costs

Resorts World Genting's Halloween event runs 1 October to 1 November 2026 in Pavilion Hall, Skytropolis Indoor Theme Park. It opens 2pm–11pm Monday to Thursday and 1pm–11pm Friday to Sunday and public holidays, with last entry at 10pm. The event page lists its prices only on the ticket tiles, which on 28 September read:

  • Spookadilly x Kisah Bawah Tanah: RM30. Marked "For All Ages". Five zones (RnR, Cahaya Apartments, Spookadilly Graveyard, Spookadilly Mansion and The Mart), a crossover with the Kisah Bawah Tanah characters. Children must be with an adult throughout, and only children aged 3 and below enter free.
  • The Echo Asylum: RM58 early bird, RM78 normal. An abandoned-hospital haunted house in three zones, 13 and above only.
  • Double the Fear: RM70 early bird, RM90 normal. Entry to both haunted houses, 13 and above.
  • Horror Adventure: RM128. Both haunted houses plus a standard Genting SkyWorlds Theme Park ticket, 13 and above. The tile carries no early-bird mark.

Early bird ends on 29 September. The terms are the usual haunted-house ones: tickets are non-refundable; there are strobe lights, fog, loud noises and actors up close; it is not for pregnant guests or anyone with heart conditions, asthma or seizures; no food, drink, smoking or vaping inside; and no video recording or flash photography.

Still bookable up the hill

  • Exciting Holiday Escape: book by 15 November for stays from 1 September to 30 November 2026. The offer page lists Resorts World Awana Superior Deluxe from RM248 (normal RM610) and Genting SkyWorlds Hotel Quads from RM268 (normal RM960). Awana guests also get buy 1 free 1 Eufloria standard tickets. We priced real dates in a separate article.
  • 40% off Villa & Mansion stay at Resorts World Awana: still on the Hot Deals index on 28 September. It is Awana's 40th-anniversary offer and was never tied to Merdeka.

October cable car closures

  • Genting SkyWay closes for maintenance on 5–9 October. Awana SkyWay keeps running 7am–11pm, and on 5, 6 and 9 October a free shuttle van links the Genting Highlands Premium Outlets terminal and Gohtong Sentral from 9am to 7pm.
  • Awana SkyWay then closes on 12–16 October. Genting SkyWay runs 7am–11pm, a free shuttle bus runs between Sky Sentral Bus Terminal and Gohtong Sentral from 7am to 11.30pm every 15–20 minutes, and a free van links First World Hotel's lobby and Chin Swee Cave Temple from 9am to 7pm.

The maintenance notice was still at the top of rwgenting.com on 28 September.

Worked examples

A KL family with two grandparents and a 100cm child, day trip. Two adults online at RM88 each = RM176, two seniors at RM38 = RM76, one child at RM38 = RM38. Total RM290, against RM440 if all five paid the adult online rate. Buy the adults' tickets the night before, or those two alone become RM336.

Two adults who want the theme park and both haunted houses in October. Bought separately at early-bird prices: RM88 online plus RM70 Double the Fear = RM158 each. Horror Adventure is RM128, so it saves RM30 a head before 29 September, and RM50 after it, when Double the Fear goes back to RM90 (RM88 + RM90 = RM178).

A senior who wants the haunted houses too. Don't take the combo. RM38 for the park plus RM70 for Double the Fear is RM108, RM20 less than Horror Adventure, because the combo prices its park ticket as a standard adult one.

A family with a 7-year-old. The child can only do Spookadilly x Kisah Bawah Tanah, so it is RM30 for the child and RM30 for each accompanying adult. If the child is 90–110cm, a SkyWorlds day plus Spookadilly costs RM38 + RM30 = RM68 for the child.

Who should go now, and who should wait

Go before 31 December if your group includes seniors, OKU guests or children between 90cm and 110cm. RM38 is printed to the end of the year, so pick a date that suits you rather than rushing.

Book by 29 September if you're 13 or over and want The Echo Asylum or both haunted houses, because the early bird saves RM20 per ticket.

Wait if you're a standard adult hoping for a discount on your own park ticket. There isn't one; RM88 online is simply the normal rate. And if your plan depends on a cable car, avoid 5–9 and 12–16 October.

The record: what Merdeka Cara Kita and September offered

The campaign ran from mid-August to 16 September 2026. Warisan Kita at SkyAvenue (13 August – 16 September) had a Batu Seremban game that needed a same-day receipt of RM269 for Genting Rewards members or RM369 for everyone else, plus a free Heritage Trail that paid out a park ticket, capped at 500 for the whole run. Pesta Riang Ria at Resorts World Awana (29–31 August) was a free family programme. Voice of National Day at Arena of Stars (29 August) sold seats from RM148. 31 Tuah Merdeka (31 August) turned out not to be a 31% discount but a free treat for the first 31 guests at each spot. Kemewahan Lobster at Burger & Lobster and Semangkuk Rasa at Taiko Ramen closed the campaign on 16 September.

After it came Lanternverse 2026, a 7pm–10pm night park at RM38 for every Malaysian (RM33 with a same-day qualifying purchase) on ten September nights, the last on 26 September; the Flavours of Genting mooncakes, to 25 September; and the Tian Ma Fold & Go Genting Rewards blind box, to 27 September. The Malaysia Day Super Savings flash sale ran 16–18 September with First World Hotel rooms from RM59, two SkyWorlds tickets for RM140 and the Unlimited Pass at RM188. It can no longer be bought, but anything bought in it is usable to 31 December 2026. Rooms are non-refundable and fixed to the date chosen, and an Unlimited Pass counts as activated on the eighth day after purchase.

Fine print

  • Genting SkyWorlds is closed every Tuesday except Malaysian national public holidays and school holidays. Call Guest Services on +603-6105 9829 before planning a Tuesday visit.
  • Park hours are 10am to 6pm. Hotel guests at Resorts World Genting and Resorts World Awana get in from 9.30am by showing a key card or booking confirmation.
  • The RM88 online rate needs booking at least one day ahead. On the day itself you pay RM168.
  • The RM10 e-voucher comes only with the walk-in Standard ticket.
  • Anak Pahang is walk-in only and depends on your MyKad birthplace code (06, 32 or 33). MADANI RM65 is counter-only, one ticket per card per day.
  • Haunted Highlands tickets are non-refundable. The Echo Asylum, Double the Fear and Horror Adventure are 13+ only.
