What's live on 11 September: the 9.9 Mega Sale until 12 September, plus bank-card promo codes that outlast it (Maybank Mastercard RM250 off flights to 31 December, UOB RM150 off flights or hotels to 31 March 2027, RHB Mastercard 15% off hotels to 30 November) and Trip.com's own weekly Super Lokal codes for domestic trips until 29 October.

Status: the 8.8 sale has ended

The 8.8 Merdeka Sale ran from 5 to 8 August 2026. Its app codes (RM70–RM160 off flights, RM70–RM138 off hotels), the RM88 Hotel Flash Deals and the AirAsia fare drops at 1pm on 5 and 8 August are all gone, and those codes will not apply at checkout. A record of what it offered is at the bottom of this page. Everything else here was checked on Trip.com Malaysia's own campaign pages and the banks' promotion pages on 11 September 2026.

Live now: 9.9 Mega Sale (9–12 September 2026)

The 9.9 Mega Sale terms (campaign ID MY-47090) set the window as 9 to 12 September 2026, GMT+8, both days inclusive. How it works:

  • Codes drop every night at midnight until 12 September. They are first-come-first-served, and a code only counts once the booking is paid.
  • Headline caps: flight codes up to RM200 off and hotel codes up to RM250 off; the hotel page advertises rooms from RM99 a night and up to 50% off.
  • Codes on the page on the evening of 11 September: RM100 off flights with a RM1,200 minimum spend, and RM80 off hotels with a RM800 minimum. Both are app-only, and the mix changes at each midnight drop.
  • HSBC tiers (flights departing Malaysia, app only): RM300 off a RM2,000 spend with an HSBC Premier credit card; RM200 off a RM2,000 spend with an HSBC Mastercard or Visa credit card; RM525 off a RM3,500 business- or first-class booking with HSBC Premier.
  • Sunway Hotels Super Brand Day (4–13 September): RM30 off a RM400 booking, and RM80 or RM120 off a RM800 booking of at least two nights. These codes work only at Sunway Hotels & Resorts properties, in the app.
  • Attractions: Hong Kong Disneyland at 50% off with the discount capped at RM225, plus separate RM30-off (RM260 minimum) and RM100-off (RM520 minimum) park codes.

One inconsistency: a hotel flash-sale block on the 9.9 hotel page is labelled "9 – 13 September", but the campaign terms end on 12 September. Treat the 12th as the last day.

The codes that outlast the 9.9 sale

These are the bank-card codes, each with the bank's own end date:

  • Maybank Mastercard: RM250 off flights, minimum spend RM2,000, booking period 3 September to 31 December 2026, travel until 31 December 2027. Only Mastercard credit or debit cards issued by Maybank Malaysia qualify (Maybank Visa and Amex do not). Codes are released every Monday at 12am, limited to the first 85 successful bookings each week, and each user can use one per month. Works on the Trip.com Malaysia website or app, flights only, and the discount is applied to the fare before taxes and fees.
  • UOB: RM150 off flights or RM150 off hotels, minimum spend RM1,500 each, booking period 20 April 2026 to 31 March 2027 (per UOB Malaysia's own promotion page). Malaysia-issued UOB cards, paid in MYR, Trip.com app only, two redemptions per account. China domestic flights are excluded, as are partner-supplied room types and Pay-at-Hotel bookings.
  • RHB Mastercard: 15% off hotels, capped at RM200, minimum spend RM800 (room price after existing platform discounts), 1 September to 30 November 2026. Stock is topped up every Tuesday at 12pm; app only, one use per account, Malaysia-issued RHB Mastercard.
  • HSBC Premier: 15% off business-class flights, capped at RM525, minimum spend RM3,500, until 31 December 2026. HSBC credit cards issued in Malaysia only (debit cards do not qualify), app only, three uses per user, and capped at 50 redemptions a month across all users.
  • Visa: 20% off hotels, capped at RM200, campaign period 1 to 30 September 2026. The campaign page does not print a minimum spend; the code shows its own conditions when you claim it.

Trip.com's own recurring codes

  • Super Lokal! (domestic flights, hotels, car rental and airport transfers): runs 29 July to 29 October 2026, with weekly promo codes worth up to RM100. The campaign artwork marks the drops as Monday, Thursday and daily. It also carries 10% off AirAsia domestic routes, and that discount covers baggage, seats and meals bought in the same transaction. Works on the website, app and mobile site.
  • Super Staycation (Malaysian hotels): has no end date. RM50-off hotel codes are released every Thursday at 12pm and on selected Fridays at 12pm, alongside curated hotels at up to 30% off.

Which day to open the app

  • Monday 12am: Maybank Mastercard flight codes (85 bookings a week) and the Super Lokal Monday drop.
  • Tuesday 12pm: RHB Mastercard hotel codes are topped up.
  • Thursday 12pm: Super Staycation RM50 codes and the Super Lokal Thursday drop.
  • Every midnight until 12 September: the 9.9 Mega Sale codes.

Malaysia Day falls on Wednesday 16 September. For a holiday stay booked with a code, the remaining drops before it are Monday 14 September (Maybank, Super Lokal) and RHB's Tuesday 15 September top-up.

Worked examples

  • RM2,000 flight booked by 12 September: an HSBC Premier credit card takes RM300 off (15%). After the 9.9 sale, a Maybank Mastercard takes RM250 off (12.5%) and a UOB card RM150 off (7.5%).
  • RM1,500 flight: only UOB's minimum is met, for RM150 off (10%). Maybank's RM2,000 minimum is not.
  • RM1,000 hotel stay: RHB takes 15%, or RM150, and Visa's 20% lands exactly on its RM200 cap. UOB's RM1,500 minimum is not met, and the 9.9 RM80 code is smaller than both.
  • RM1,500 hotel stay: RHB hits its RM200 cap and UOB gives RM150, so RHB wins if you hold both cards. Visa would also cap at RM200.
  • RM800 hotel stay: RHB gives RM120 and the 9.9 code RM80; Visa's 20% would be RM160 if its code accepts a booking that size.

Fine print that trips people up

  • One code per booking. Every set of terms above says the codes cannot be combined with other promotions, so a bank-card code does not stack on a 9.9 code. Use whichever is larger.
  • "App only" means app only. The UOB, RHB and HSBC codes and most 9.9 codes fail on a web-browser booking. Maybank's and Super Lokal's also work on the website.
  • Claiming is not reserving. Codes go to whoever pays first, so a claimed code can still run out before you check out.
  • Changing a booking can cost you the code. On the Visa code, a cancelled or refunded booking counts the code as used. On Maybank, modifying a booking releases the code back to the pool, and you have to cancel and rebook to try again.
  • Malaysia-issued card, billed in MYR, for the Maybank, UOB, RHB and HSBC codes.

What the 8.8 Merdeka Sale offered (5–8 August 2026, ended)

  • Flight codes: RM70 off (RM500 minimum) or RM160 off (RM1,000 minimum), app-only
  • Hotel codes: RM70 off (RM350 minimum), RM88 off (RM700 minimum) or RM138 off (RM1,000 minimum)
  • Hotel Flash Deals from RM88 a night, plus Buy 1 Free 1 and up to 50% off selected attractions
  • HSBC tiers of up to RM300, RM200 and RM525 for business and first class; the same HSBC structure is back in the 9.9 sale
  • The "up to RM188 off" headline was the combined value of the code set, not a single code

The 9.9 caps are higher than 8.8's (RM200 and RM250 against RM160 and RM138), but the two 9.9 codes live on 11 September asked for more spend per ringgit saved. RM80 off RM800 is 10%, against 8.8's RM88 off RM700 at 12.6%.
