> Quick view: Ai-CHA just opened its 200th outlet across Borneo — at 1Borneo Hypermall in Kota Kinabalu — and is celebrating with a Sabah- and Sarawak-wide campaign: collect stamps for a shot at 200,000 free drinks, or enter a Borneo-themed photo contest for a slice of over RM40,000 in cash prizes.

The occasion

Ai-CHA opened its first Malaysian outlet at Centre Point, Kota Kinabalu, in August 2024. Less than two years later, the ice cream-and-tea chain has hit its 200th outlet across Borneo (Sabah, Sarawak, Brunei and Kalimantan combined) — a milestone it's marking with the Borneo 200 Campaign 2026, running from mid-June through 31 August 2026.

The campaign has three parts. Here's what's actually redeemable, and what's a longshot.

1. Borneo 200 Mission Card — free drinks (1 Jul–31 Aug 2026)

  • Make a qualifying purchase at a participating Ai-CHA outlet and collect a stamp on your Borneo 200 Mission Card
  • Complete 5 stamps, and you stand a chance to receive a reward from a pool of 200,000 free drinks, collectively valued at more than RM1 million
  • Sourcing for this article didn't turn up a published minimum spend per stamp — ask at the counter when you buy, since it likely varies

This is the part with the widest reach: no photography or social media skills required, just repeat visits.

2. Borneo Creative Photo Contest — cash prizes (closes 31 Jul 2026)

  • Buy any Ai-CHA drink or merchandise, take a creative photo featuring the product at a Borneo landmark, tourist attraction or local food spot, and submit it through Ai-CHA's official channels
  • Unlimited submissions are allowed
  • Cash prizes totalling over RM25,000 are up for grabs
  • This one closes soonest — entries must be in by 31 July 2026

3. Social Media Viral Challenge — cash prizes

  • Selected photo-contest entries get reposted on Ai-CHA's official Instagram and TikTok
  • The first 10 entries per region to hit 1,000+ likes qualify for cash prizes totalling over RM17,000

Where to redeem (Malaysia outlets)

Sabah: 1Borneo Hypermall (Kota Kinabalu), Centre Point Sabah (Kota Kinabalu), University Utama Square (Telipok, KK), Harbour Mall (Sandakan), Bandar Kim Fung (Sandakan), Plaza Keningau, Royal Plaza (Putatan, Penampang)

Sarawak: Emart Commercial Centre & Marina Phase 2 (Miri), Metrocity 3 and other outlets (Kuching), Aiman Mall (Kota Samarahan), Town Square (Bintulu)

The wider Borneo 200 campaign also includes Ai-CHA's Brunei and Kalimantan outlets, but those sit outside Malaysia and aren't the focus here. Not every listed outlet may carry every element of the campaign — confirm participation at your nearest branch.

Fine print

  • Sourcing didn't specify the exact minimum purchase amount required per Mission Card stamp — confirm in-store
  • The Mission Card and photo contest run on different clocks: stamps until 31 August, photo submissions only until 31 July
  • Free drinks and cash prizes are reward-pool/contest mechanics, not a guaranteed discount on every visit
  • Photo contest and viral-challenge terms (exact submission form, judging criteria) are on Ai-CHA's official social channels, not detailed in the news coverage checked for this article

Tips

  • If you're a regular anyway, ask for your Mission Card stamp every visit — five qualifying purchases between now and end-August is realistic for anyone who already drinks Ai-CHA
  • The photo contest has the tightest deadline (31 July) — don't leave your entry to the last weekend
  • Outlet participation can vary by branch; a quick call or DM to Ai-CHA's official Facebook page before a special trip avoids disappointment
