> Quick view: the Go Unlimited! Merdeka FunPark Day Pass — RM15 adult, RM30 child — ended on 31 August 2026 and its page is gone: glplay.com.my now returns "Activity not found" for it, and no unlimited pass appears anywhere in FunPark's booking engine. FunPark is back to pay-per-ride, and the real rate card is cheaper than most write-ups say: four of the six rides are RM8, not RM12. Three standing offers now beat the dead Merdeka pass, and the biggest of them is free. Every price, date and rule below re-verified on GL Play's own booking engine, promotion pages and FAQ on 9 September 2026.

First, the correction: the Merdeka pass is dead

Three independent checks confirm it, not just a lapsed date:

  • The promo card rail on FunPark's own page carried 12 offers on 9 September 2026. The Merdeka day pass is not one of them
  • Its event page, /event-details/go-unlimited-merdeka-funpark-day-pass, now returns "Activity not found"
  • The booking engine lists seven products for FunPark. None of them is an unlimited pass, and the calendar prices are flat across September and October — no discounted dates anywhere

What FunPark actually costs now

There is no entrance fee to the dry park. GL Play's own FAQ puts it plainly: an entrance fee applies to Big Bucket Splash only, and the dry park runs on pay-per-ride. You can walk in, watch, and pay for nothing. These are the live per-person rates on the GL Play booking engine, verified 9 September 2026:

  • Carousel (Family Rides) — RM8
  • Jellycup Twist (Family Rides) — RM8
  • Jumpshot (Kiddy Rides) — RM8
  • Fruity Frenzy (Kiddy Rides) — RM8
  • Vroomerang — RM12
  • Eye of Gardens, the 50-metre Ferris wheel — RM12
  • Big Bucket Splash, the water park — adult RM20, child RM40, a separate session ticket

Two things follow. First, the widely-repeated "RM12 a ride" figure is only true of two rides; the four kiddie and family rides are RM8. Second, riding all six dry attractions once costs RM56 per person — which is what the RM15 adult Merdeka pass was really worth, and why it is not coming back at that price.

Note the inversion on Big Bucket Splash: the child ticket is double the adult, RM40 against RM20. FunPark prices grown-ups as accompanying adults throughout, which is also why the dead Merdeka pass charged adults RM15 and children RM30.

The hidden cost nobody quotes: parking

GL Play's FAQ gives a figure almost no write-up mentions. Parking is at the open area behind FunPark and costs RM3 per entry on weekdays and RM5 per entry on weekends and public holidays. On a RM8 carousel ride for one child, that is a meaningful share of the bill.

The three offers that beat the dead Merdeka pass

1. The birthday buy-1-free-1 — the best deal at FunPark, and it is free

If someone in your group has a birthday this month, this is the cheapest way into FunPark and it is not advertised on the ride pages at all. GL Play's terms, live on 9 September 2026:

  • Buy one full-price à la carte ticket during your birthday month and get a second ticket of equal value free
  • Explicitly covers FunPark, including Big Bucket Splash — as well as SplashMania, Discovery Park and Paya Indah Discovery Wetlands
  • Walk-in only, at the ticketing counter, valid on the same day of purchase
  • Valid for the entire birthday month, running until 31 July 2027
  • Valid daily except Wednesdays
  • The free ticket must be the same type as the one bought, and each ride is limited to one redemption per ticket
  • Cannot be combined with any other promotion

Worked example: a child's Big Bucket Splash ticket is RM40. Bring the birthday child and one sibling and you pay RM40 for both — RM20 each, the same as the adult rate, and a RM40 saving in one transaction. On the Ferris wheel it is two rides for RM12 instead of RM24. Nothing else GL Play offers comes close.

2. The OKU 50% — half price, every day, no dates attached

GL Play's FAQ confirms that Malaysians with disabilities get 50% off walk-in à la carte tickets. The discount does not apply to combo tickets. That makes every dry ride RM4 or RM6 and a child's Big Bucket Splash RM20. There is no promotional window on it — it is a standing rate. Visitors with disabilities are welcomed at both FunPark and Big Bucket Splash.

By contrast, GL Play's FAQ states there is no student discount at present, despite how often one is assumed.

3. Cuti Negeri, Jom Main Sini — 35% off, but only on your own state's dates

This is the year-long replacement for seasonal offers like the Merdeka pass, running 1 August 2026 to 31 July 2027. It gives 35% off à la carte tickets to residents of one eligible state at a time, on fixed dates, with a MyKad or MyKid state-code check at the counter.

The rules that decide whether it is worth a trip:

  • Strictly on-site ticketing counters, walk-in only
  • One IC equals one discounted ticket per attraction per park — it is not a discount on your whole basket
  • Limited to the first 500 walk-in customers per eligible day, first-come first-served
  • The ticket is for the IC holder only and cannot be transferred to family
  • Cannot be combined with other promotions, group discounts or packages
  • GL Play notes it is eligible for Domestic Tourism Tax Relief

Melaka's window, 23–24 August 2026, has already passed. FunPark sits in Selangor, so for locals the next chance is 10–12 December 2026 — a Thursday to Saturday.

One design detail worth knowing: not one of the fourteen windows contains a Wednesday. GL Play built the calendar around its own closure day, so you will never lose a Cuti Negeri date to a shut park.

Be realistic about the size of it at FunPark, though. Because the cap is one discounted ticket per attraction, 35% off turns an RM8 ride into RM5.20 and an RM12 ride into RM7.80. The one place it bites is Big Bucket Splash, where a child's RM40 becomes RM26. The birthday offer saves more, and needs no calendar.

The Wednesday rule, corrected

FunPark's own page says flatly that "both parks are closed every Wednesday", and that has been repeated as an absolute — including in an earlier version of this article. It is not absolute. GL Play's FAQ and its promotion terms both add the carve-out: closed every Wednesday, except during Malaysian public holidays and school holidays.

The booking calendar proves the carve-out is actually applied. In September 2026, Wednesday 23 and Wednesday 30 are unbookable — but Wednesday 16 September, Malaysia Day, sells at the normal RM12. Every Wednesday in October 2026 (the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th) is blank, with every other day open.

One live quirk to plan around: on 9 September 2026 the Eye of Gardens had no online availability until 13 September, while every other ride was bookable from the 10th. If the Ferris wheel is the reason for the trip, check its own calendar rather than the park's.

Opening hours

For the dry park — the rides listed above:

  • Monday to Friday: 3pm–10pm
  • Saturday, Sunday, public holidays and school holidays: 2pm–10pm

Big Bucket Splash runs on its own schedule, and on weekends it splits into two sessions rather than running straight through:

  • Monday to Friday: 3pm–10pm, sold as a single 3.00pm–9.59pm session
  • Weekends, public holidays and school holidays: Session 1, 10am–1.30pm; Session 2, 2.30pm–6pm

Two things on the FunPark page that are not for FunPark

The promo rail on FunPark's own page is shared across every GL Play park, and most of what sits on it excludes FunPark entirely. Two current examples:

  • The Sepang Motorsports Special, 50% off for holders of a 2026 Sepang race ticket or wristband from 1 to 11 October 2026, applies to SplashMania and Discovery Park only
  • The MATTA Fair RM75 pass is a SplashMania admission ticket

Read the fine print on any card you see there before driving to Sungai Buloh for it.

Two FunPark-only extras worth knowing

Sky Party Cabin turns one Eye of Gardens cabin into a private, decorated party pod with a night view over Gamuda Luge Gardens. The normal rate is RM50 for 2 pax and the Early Bird rate is RM35 for 2 pax, subject to a limited quota — and RM35 is the only rate currently on the booking engine. Against RM24 for two standard Ferris wheel tickets, the private cabin costs RM11 more. No birthday cake is included.

Hydro Heroes: The Big Bucket Mission is a STEM session inside Big Bucket Splash for ages 4 to 12 — the pump room, water-quality testing, and building a mini pump and model waterpark. It is RM75 per pax and runs by enquiry only, at sales.glplay@gamudaland.com.my, not through the booking page.

Polar Bear Snow World is still listed among FunPark's attractions on GL Play's site, but it has no bookable package on the booking engine — ask at the counter before counting on it.

Practical fine print

  • Re-entry is allowed at FunPark but not at Big Bucket Splash
  • All tickets are non-refundable, and non-transferable except in an emergency
  • Pre-booking is recommended for Big Bucket Splash only, because of its capacity limit; walk-ins are welcome for everything else
  • Outside food is a contradiction in GL Play's own FAQ: the FunPark section says you may bring your own food and drinks into FunPark but not into Big Bucket Splash, while the safety section says no outside food or drinks at all. Ask at the gate rather than assuming
  • Drones, monopods and selfie sticks are not allowed. Avoid skirts and dresses; swimwear for Big Bucket Splash
  • In light rain the park keeps running; in a thunderstorm all rides stop and the park is evacuated, and tickets are not refunded for weather
  • Payment by cash, card or e-wallet. Free WiFi. Food on site includes A&W, Jihun Korean Fried Chicken, laollao and Coco Loca
  • Group rates start at 30 people, by email to sales.glplay@gamudaland.com.my at least seven working days ahead

FunPark, Gamuda Luge Gardens, Persiaran Gamuda Gardens 1, Bandar Gamuda Gardens, 48050 Sungai Buloh, Selangor — just off Exit 115 of the North–South Expressway, and a five-minute drive from where the Guthrie, LATAR and North–South expressways meet.
