Preschool and Kindergarten Fees in KL and the Klang Valley 2026: From Free to RM37,800 in Year One, and the 30% Cap Parents Can Ask About

Kinder Arena, Alam Damai, Cheras

The clearest all-in price on this list. Kinder Arena Sdn Bhd runs its KL branch at 45 Jalan Damai Raya 6, Alam Damai, with nursery and kindergarten (18 months to 6 years) in one building and English and Mandarin as the main languages, adding Bahasa Malaysia from Nursery 2. The Cheras kindergarten page publishes RM1,500 a month full day (7.30am to 6.30pm) and RM1,300 half day (7.30am to 1pm or 1pm to 6.30pm), and its FAQ says meals, books and materials are included with no hidden charges. Two things to note. Half day costs 87% of full day for about half the hours, the highest ratio we found. And registration and deposit are not published; the site only mentions an initial payment set out in the enrolment package. Its Penang branches on the same fee page charge RM150 to RM300 less.

R.E.A.L Kids (Klang Valley centres)

A chain founded in 1988 with more than 35 centres nationwide, including Ampang Utama and Bangsar in KL, Bukit Jelutong, Denai Alam and Kemuning Greenhill in Shah Alam, plus Kampung Tunku and Gasing Indah in PJ, Puchong Jaya, Cyberjaya, Kajang Prima and Rawang. It runs two tiers: First, based on the national preschool curriculum, and Plus, which adds Cambridge English and science. Its programme pages publish full day (8am to 3.30pm) at RM1,070 a month for First and RM1,300 for Plus, and half day (8am to 12pm) from RM680 and from RM960. So a First half day costs about 64% of the full day. Watch the end time: the standard full day ends at 3.30pm, and the extended programme to 6pm is extra. Contradictions on its own site: the FAQ says fee details are given at the school tour, although the programme pages print them, and a site-wide banner still says Bandar Sunway is "relocating in Q2 2026". Registration, deposit and late-pickup fees are not published.

Genius Aulad (Islamic preschool chain)

The lowest published private fee on this list. Genius Aulad, part of GAINS Education Group with its head office at Dataran Puchong, runs an Islamic preschool for ages 4 to 6 that follows the national preschool curriculum and adds Arabic, Iqra' and Islamic modules. Its fee page lists Genius Lite half day at RM400 a month (morning 8am to 12pm, or an afternoon session) and Genius Premium full day at RM680 a month (7am to 6pm), each shown against a struck-through RM420 and RM700 with no end date, so treat the lower figures as the current price rather than a dated promo. Half day is 59% of full day. Two inconsistencies on its site: the afternoon session is printed as "1.00 am - 5.00 pm", and its sessions page gives an 8.30am to 4.30pm programme inside the 7am to 6pm care hours. Registration, uniforms and materials are not priced, and as a franchise the fee at a particular centre may differ, so confirm with the branch.

Pink Tower Childcare Centre (Puchong, Old Klang Road, Seri Kembangan, Kajang, Rawang)

A childcare and preschool chain run by Glorious Education Sdn Bhd since 2003, with its head office at Bandar Puteri Puchong and Klang Valley branches at Taman Gembira off Old Klang Road, Seri Kembangan, Kajang and Rawang. It covers infant care, daycare, preschool for ages 4 to 6 and after-school care, which suits families wanting one centre for siblings of different ages. Pink Tower publishes only a range: its fee page says preschool for 4 to 6 year olds "typically ranges from RM1,300 to RM2,000 per month", depending on branch, schedule and package, with meals, materials and activities usually included and transport varying by branch. There is no per-branch list, so ask your branch for its figure in writing. Note that the same site's general daycare-fees page says half day is about 50% to 60% of full day, which is market commentary rather than Pink Tower's own price.

elc International School, Sungai Buloh

The cheapest of the three international early-years options here. elc runs a British-curriculum school at Sungai Buloh from Reception, and its fee table (with effect from September 2025) lists Early Years at RM6,000 a term and Reception at RM6,500 a term, three terms a year. On top: a RM1,000 registration fee (non-refundable) and a deposit of one term's fees, refundable with six weeks' notice. Miscellaneous charges are shown as under RM200. The RM8,000 admission fee applies from Year 1, which is worth asking about if your child starts earlier. That puts year one for Early Years at about RM25,000 in published fees, before uniforms, books, transport and canteen meals, which are charged separately. There is a 5% sibling discount on the term fee. elc says fees are generally reviewed every two years, last in September 2025. One inconsistency: the fee table lists an Early Years class that its admissions page does not describe.

Tenby Schools Setia Eco Park, Shah Alam (Early Years)

The highest first-year cost on this list, and the clearest example of one-off fees outweighing tuition. Tenby's 2026/2027 fee page for Setia Eco Park lists Nursery (3 to 4) and Reception (4 to 5) at RM7,800 a term, three terms a year, so RM23,400 a year. The one-off fees are the story: a RM2,000 application fee and a RM7,000 registration fee, both per child and non-refundable, so RM9,000 before the first day, more than a full term. Add the RM1,500 yearly resources fee and a RM3,900 refundable deposit and year one is at least RM37,800. Early Years pupils are automatically placed on a compulsory meal plan at an extra charge the page does not price, and fees exclude any applicable SST. A contradiction to raise at the admissions office: the deposit column is headed "One Term's Fee" but shows RM3,900, half of the RM7,800 term fee.

Tenby Schools Tropicana Aman, Telok Panglima Garang (Early Years)

Same brand as Setia Eco Park, different price list, which is the point of including both. Tenby's Tropicana Aman campus, on the southern edge of the Klang Valley, publishes 2026-2027 Nursery and Reception fees of RM7,030 a term (RM21,090 a year), plus a meal plan at RM650 a term that this campus does price. The one-off fees are lower than at Setia Eco Park: RM1,300 application and RM5,000 registration for Early Years, against RM7,000 registration from Year 1, so starting in Nursery saves RM2,000 on registration here. The deposit is RM3,515, labelled honestly as 50% of the term fee, and there is a RM1,500 yearly resources fee. Published first-year total: about RM34,355. Fees exclude applicable SST. If you are choosing between Tenby campuses, compare both pages line by line, because the registration gap alone is RM2,000.

Tabika Perpaduan (Ministry of National Unity)

The free benchmark every other fee on this list should be measured against. Tabika Perpaduan are preschools run by the Ministry of National Unity for children aged 4 to 6, with Taska Perpaduan for ages 2 to 4. In its release of 12 January 2026, the ministry said Taska and Tabika Perpaduan provide their service free, without any charge, and that 33,307 children started the 2026 session at 1,781 Tabika Perpaduan nationwide, with 998 children at 41 Taska Perpaduan. They are neighbourhood-based, so availability depends on where you live, and the programme is a standard preschool day rather than full-day childcare, so working parents may still need after-school care. Fees paid to a registered kindergarten qualify for tax relief, but there is nothing to claim here. Ask at the Jabatan Perpaduan Negara dan Integrasi Nasional office for your district about places for the next intake.
