> Quick view: the Mochi Mochi Buy 1 Free 1 app coupon this page originally covered ended on 31 August 2026. Three things replaced it at myNEWS for September, and only one of them needs the app: a Snack Deals two-for price list running the whole month (14 lines, from 2 for RM5.00, no app required), the Sambalicious September ready-to-eat range at Maru with 50 bonus myPOINTS for members, and Cuti Paling Best, an app-exclusive draw where every RM18 single receipt is one entry for a Langkawi trip. All three run to 30 September 2026.

What happened to the Mochi Mochi Buy 1 Free 1

myNEWS ran a Buy 1 Free 1 coupon on Imuraya Mochi Mochi Ice Cream inside the myNEWS app's Coupon Deals section from 1 to 31 August 2026. That window closed. myNEWS's own promotions page now carries September artwork only, and the Mochi Mochi coupon is not part of it.

Worth being precise about what ended: the coupon expired, not the product. Mochi Mochi is a regular stocked freezer line at myNEWS, made locally by Polar Ice Cream Sdn Bhd and JAKIM-certified halal. You can still buy it — just at shelf price.

Everything below was re-checked against myNEWS's own website (mynews.com.my) and its official Facebook page on 11 September 2026.

Snack Deals, September 2026 — all 14 two-for prices

This is the one that needs no app, no coupon and no membership. myNEWS's September Snack Deals artwork is a straight shelf offer: buy two of the named line and pay the printed price. Sorted cheapest first.

Two things the artwork does and does not say. It does print the month — every card is headed "September / Snack / 2026" — so treat it as running the calendar month. It does not print exact start and end dates, a participating-outlet list, or a per-customer cap, and it carries the standard "terms and conditions apply, visuals for illustration only" line. If you are making a special trip for one line, phone the branch.

Sambalicious September at Maru

The second campaign is a ready-to-eat menu drop, and it is the one dated most precisely: the artwork's own footer reads "Promotion is valid from 1 Sept 2026 - 30 Sept 2026."

Four named items, all sambal-led, all under the Maru banner myNEWS uses for its fresh bakery and hot counter:

  • Sambal Ikan Bilis Puff
  • Pau Kari Kambing
  • Sambal Chicken and Egg Mayo Combo Sandwich
  • Tamago and Spicy Chicken Floss Onigiri

The incentive attached is points, not a discount: members earn an extra 50 myPOINTS on new items during September 2026. myNEWS's base earn rate is 1 myPOINT per RM1 spent, so 50 bonus points is worth roughly what a RM50 shop would normally earn you — a meaningful multiplier on a RM6-ish sandwich, and a better reason to scan the app than the item price alone.

myNEWS does not publish à-la-carte Maru prices on its website, so this article does not quote them. Check the hot counter.

Cuti Paling Best: the RM18 app-only draw

The third campaign is the one that actually requires the app. Cuti Paling Best dengan myNEWS runs 1-30 September 2026 and is marked App Exclusive on the artwork.

How it works, exactly as printed:

  1. Spend RM18 or more in a single receipt at myNEWS, paying through or scanning the myNEWS app.
  2. That receipt earns you one stamp — and the fine print is explicit that each receipt is entitled to one stamp (one entry) only. A RM90 receipt is still one entry; five RM18 receipts are five.
  3. Stamps are entries into the draw.

The prizes:

  • Grand prize — one Langkawi 4D3N trip, flight and stay at The Danna Langkawi, for 2 pax
  • Second prize — one night's stay at The Banjaran Hot Springs (Ipoh), for 2 pax
  • Consolation — 5 pairs of Sunway Lagoon admission tickets

The exclusions matter more than they look. The contest artwork excludes bill payment, reload services and mobile SIM packs — which is almost exactly the list of counter services myNEWS itself advertises on its Services page (bill payment, mobile and game reload, Touch 'n Go reload, SIM starter packs). Those same categories also earn no myPOINTS, alongside courier services and money changing. So a RM50 phone top-up at a myNEWS counter builds neither points nor a contest entry. Only the shopping part of your receipt counts.

The standing Maru coffee bundles, for comparison

Separately from the September campaigns, myNEWS runs an undated myREWARDS member-exclusive coupon bundle on Maru coffee. These are coupons you buy up front in the app, then draw down:

  • Latte (iced or hot) — 6 for RM42 (RM7.00 a cup) or 10 for RM67 (RM6.70 a cup)
  • Americano (iced or hot) — 6 for RM30 (RM5.00 a cup) or 10 for RM45 (RM4.50 a cup)

Two honest caveats. The artwork is undated, so treat it as a standing offer that can be pulled without notice rather than something guaranteed through September. And myNEWS does not publish the walk-in cup price anywhere on its site, so the bundle's discount versus counter price cannot be calculated from official sources — what you can calculate is the locked-in per-cup rate above.

How myNEWS app coupons actually behave at the till

If you are coming back to the app for the first time since the August coupon, the mechanics that trip people up are all published in myNEWS's own loyalty FAQ:

  • Coupons live under myCOUPONS, split by brand at the top of the screen
  • You must tap Redeem Now to activate the coupon before the cashier checks out — an unactivated coupon does nothing
  • An activated coupon reverts to "Redeem Now" after 30 minutes if it is not used, so activate it in the queue, not in the car park
  • Then open myCARD and let the cashier scan the barcode; the coupon only takes effect on a successful scan
  • myEXCHANGE lets you convert myPOINTS into coupons; mySTAMPS converts a completed stamp set into a coupon or gift
  • You earn 1 myPOINT per RM1 across myNEWS, CU, SUPERVALUE and Maru Coffee stores — but not at Senai International Airport or KLIA2 Airside outlets
  • myPOINTS are non-transferable and expire on the second 31 December after they are earned; myNEWS's own example is that points earned in February 2025 expire on 31 December 2026
  • Stored myNEWS Credit no longer expires (a change effective 1 August 2025), but an unused virtual card is closed after three years with a RM10 administration fee and the balance forfeited
  • The app runs on one device at a time — signing in on a new phone signs you out of the old one

Two worked baskets

A RM18-threshold basket that also uses the snack prices. Two cans of Mister Potato 125g (RM13.00) plus two packs of NIPS (RM5.50) comes to RM18.50 on one receipt. That clears the Cuti Paling Best threshold for one stamp, earns 18 myPOINTS, and both lines are on the September two-for list. Splitting it across two visits would cost the same in ringgit but produce two entries instead of one — the contest rewards receipt count, not basket size.

A month of Americano. Ten Americano coupons at RM45 works out to RM4.50 a cup, which is roughly one weekday coffee for a fortnight. The money leaves your account on day one, though, and the coupons sit in myCOUPONS until used — so this suits a daily commuter passing a Maru counter, not an occasional visitor.

Who this suits, and who should skip it

Worth your time if you already pass a myNEWS most days: the snack two-fors need nothing but a shelf and a till, the contest entry is a by-product of shopping you were doing anyway, and 50 bonus points on a new Maru item is a genuine top-up on a small basket.

Skip it if your myNEWS visits are mainly counter services. Bill payments, reloads and SIM packs are excluded from the contest and earn no points, so the app gives you nothing on those trips. Also skip the coffee bundles unless you will realistically drink six to ten cups — pre-paid coupons that expire unused are worse value than paying per cup.

Fine print, gathered

  • Snack Deals: month-stamped "September 2026", no exact day range published, no outlet list, terms and conditions apply
  • Sambalicious September: valid 1 Sept 2026 - 30 Sept 2026 per the artwork footer; the 50-point bonus is for members and applies to new items
  • Cuti Paling Best: 1-30 September 2026, app exclusive, RM18 single-receipt minimum, one stamp per receipt, excludes bill payment, reload services and mobile SIM packs
  • Maru coffee bundles: myREWARDS member-exclusive, coupons purchased in the app, artwork undated
  • myNEWS Holdings reported RM878.46 million in FY2025 revenue, up 9.23% on FY2024 — the chain's store locator lists outlets in all 16 states and federal territories, so "nationwide" here is literal
