> Quick view (checked 21 October 2026): the POPULAR Bookfair at AEON Mall Kulaijaya ended on 16 August 2026, and the chain's Good Reads, Great Value campaign that followed it ended on 11 October. The next big one reaches this store: POPULAR's Annual Clearance, Friday 23 October to Monday 9 November 2026, with rebates of up to 50%, or up to 90% for members, on selected items. POPULAR's own outlet list names AEON Mall Kulaijaya as one of 56 participating stores.
Is AEON Mall Kulaijaya in the Annual Clearance?
Yes. POPULAR's campaign page only says "56 participating POPULAR/HARRIS bookstores", but the outlet-list artwork it published for the sale spells them out. Under Johor it lists ten: AEON Mall Bukit Indah, AEON Mall Kulaijaya, Batu Pahat Mall, HARRIS at AEON Mall Tebrau City, Kluang Mall, Paradigm Mall Johor Bahru, Sutera Mall, The Mall Mid Valley Southkey, TOPPEN Shopping Centre and Wetex Parade.
Two Johor stores on POPULAR's locator are not on the list: KOMTAR JBCC and Segamat Central. If you usually shop at either, Kulaijaya or Sutera Mall is the nearest participating store.
The store: Lot G-21, AEON Mall Kulaijaya, PTD 106273, Persiaran Indah Pura Utama, Bandar Indah Pura, 81000 Kulai Jaya. POPULAR's locator gives Sun-Thu 10.00am-10.00pm and Fri, Sun and public-holiday eves 10.00am-10.30pm (Sunday appears in both bands in POPULAR's own wording). The store's WhatsApp on the locator is 012-819 9688.
How the Annual Clearance works
- Look for the clearance shelves and rebate tags. The poster's fine print says "for selected items only" and "spend RM10 & above". New releases at full price elsewhere in the shop are not part of it.
- Bring your POPULAR card. The public rebate tops out at 50%, and the member rebate at 90%. POPULAR does not say which items reach the top figure, so treat 90% as a ceiling, not an average.
- Group your buys on one receipt. The RM10 minimum is per receipt, and the add-ons below are also counted per receipt.
- Go early for the tissue. With any purchase, the first 10,000 customers chain-wide can add a SNOOPY Premium Tissue 5-ply 6-pack (76 pulls) for RM8.00 nett (usual RM16.90), one per receipt.
- Check if you've reached RM60 nett. That unlocks a POP BAZIC 330ml steel coffee mug at RM25.00 nett (usual RM59.90) and a MICROPACK MP729 wireless mouse at RM35.00 nett (usual RM59.00 nett). The RM60 must exclude the add-on items themselves, and there's a limit of one of each per customer per receipt on the same day.
POPULAR also stamps the poster "New Stock Added Daily", and claims over 3 million products across the chain. A second visit later in the 18 days may find different shelves.
Worked RM examples
- Mug and mouse: spend RM60 nett on anything, then add both for RM60.00. At their usual prices they cost RM118.90, so the pair saves RM58.90. That's only worth it if you wanted them anyway.
- Tissue: RM8.00 vs RM16.90, so RM8.90 off, on any purchase. Expect most of the 10,000 units to go in the first weekend across 56 stores.
- A clearance book tagged RM40.00: at a 50% public rebate you pay RM20.00. If the same tag carries a member rebate of 70%, a member pays RM12.00. These figures are illustrative; check each tag in store, because POPULAR publishes no item list.
Members' Syok Giler Treats ends 1 November
Running alongside the clearance at all POPULAR/HARRIS stores until Sunday 1 November 2026: sign up for or renew a 3-year Privilege Card (RM25) and you get, on the same day, 30% off regular-priced books and 40% off selected stationery, up to 10 items of each per receipt. Textbooks, assessment books, nett-priced and promotional items are excluded, so don't expect it to stack on clearance-tagged stock.
For Kulai's Chinese readers, the campaign poster shows several current Chinese titles at their regular prices: 流俗地 RM53.00, 卢克明的偷偷一笑 RM49.00, 勇敢告别的人,生活会奖励一场新的开始 RM78.25, 在疲惫时变成沙发变成云 RM65.00 and 课堂没教,却是你该懂的人生功课 RM36.00.
Worked example: 流俗地 + 卢克明的偷偷一笑 + 勇敢告别的人 = RM180.25. At 30% off you save about RM54, pay about RM126, and with the RM25 card the total is about RM151, roughly RM29 ahead of buying the same three books without it. The break-even is RM25 ÷ 30% = about RM83 of regular-priced books on the sign-up day.
Who it suits, and who should skip
- Suits: parents stocking up on activity books and stationery before the 2027 school year, readers who don't mind older titles, and anyone in Kulai, Indahpura or Senai who can drop by twice.
- Skip or wait: if you want one specific new release. Clearance is selected stock only, and a brand-new title at full price is better bought with the Syok Giler card deal before 1 November.
- East Malaysian readers: POPULAR prints separate Peninsular and Sabah/Sarawak prices, so the figures here are West Malaysia prices.
What ended
- Good Reads, Great Value, 25 September-11 October 2026. It had single nett prices on Chinese titles (三体 全三册 RM48, 活着 RM24), member prices on stationery and a PWP on an RM60 spend. It's no longer on POPULAR's Ongoing Promotions page.

Nearest bookfair
There's still no POPULAR bookfair in Johor. On 21 October POPULAR lists Emart Tabuan Jaya, Kuching (to 1 November) and a new fair at AEON Mall Cheras Selatan, Selangor (27 October-9 November). From Kulai, the Lot G-21 store during the clearance is the practical option.
