> Quick view: the POPULAR Bookfair at Farley Mall, Kuching ran 6-16 August 2026 and is over, and Farley Mall has no POPULAR store. Re-checked on 4 November 2026, the Emart Tabuan Jaya fair has ended too, so Kuching's POPULAR offers are now in its four shops: Annual Clearance to 9 November at two of them, Member's Syok Giler Treats to 15 November, and WOW! Deals to 30 November.
The Farley Mall fair is over, and there is no store to fall back on
It ran 6-16 August 2026 at the LG Main Concourse, Farley Mall, Jalan Penrissen (6th Mile), Kuching. It left POPULAR's Ongoing Promotions page in August and has not come back.
At most stops on this circuit the mall has a permanent POPULAR store, so shoppers can keep buying after the fair leaves. Farley Mall is not one of them. POPULAR's store locator, re-checked on 4 November, still lists four Kuching stores:
- AEON Mall Kuching Central: Lot F38 & F39, First Floor. Sun-Thu 10am-10pm; Fri, Sat and public-holiday eves 10am-10.30pm
- Everrise BDC Complex: No. 21, Level 2, Taman BDC. Sun-Thu 9.30am-9.30pm; Fri, Sat and PH eves 9.30am-10pm
- Matang Mall: Lots 417-419, 3rd Floor, Taman Matang Jaya. Daily 10am-10pm
- Vivacity Megamall: Lot L2-014, Level 2, Jalan Wan Alwi. Daily 10am-10pm
The fair that took over, at Emart Tabuan Jaya, closed on 1 November. POPULAR's page still prints it, but with the same dates and no extension. The fairs it lists now are all in the Klang Valley, so a Kuching reader has no fair to go to. Farley's three English books for RM20 has no successor on any current Kuching flyer.
Option 1: Annual Clearance, to 9 November, at two stores
Annual Clearance runs 23 October to 9 November 2026. In Kuching only AEON Mall Kuching Central and Vivacity Megamall are on the list of 56 stores. Everrise BDC and Matang Mall are not.
Rebates reach 50%, or 90% for members, on selected items with a spend of RM10 and above. The flyer's named lines include *Atomic Habits* at RM44.90 nett (usual RM79.90), *Surat Cinta dari Tuhan* at RM45 nett (Sabah/Sarawak list price RM65), and selected Chinese titles at 3 for RM48. The first 10,000 customers can add a Snoopy tissue pack at RM8 (usual RM16.90). A spend of RM60 nett opens two add-ons: a POP Bazic mug at RM25 and a Micropack mouse at RM35.
Option 2: Member's Syok Giler Treats, 30% off books to 15 November
This is the biggest percentage off regular-priced books in Kuching now, and it works at all four stores. POPULAR moved the end date from 1 November to 15 November, as its banner and promotions page show.
- Sign up for or renew the POPULAR Privilege Card (three years, RM25).
- On the same day, take 30% off regular-priced books, except text, assessment, nett-priced and promotion items, plus 40% off selected stationery.
- The cap is one unit per product, 10 books and 10 stationery items on a single receipt.
The sums. The break-even point is about RM83.33 of regular-priced books on the day you join. RM112.80 of books would save RM33.84, more than the card. Below the break-even, you pay more for the card than you save.
Who should skip: existing cardholders who are not due to renew, and anyone buying textbooks or assessment books, which are excluded. The offer doesn't touch nett-priced books either, so *Atomic Habits* stays at RM44.90.
Option 3: WOW! Deals, 1-30 November
WOW! Deals run at every POPULAR/HARRIS store and on POPULAR Online, with any purchase of RM10 and above and no card. This is the route for Everrise BDC and Matang Mall, because some clearance prices are printed here too: *Atomic Habits* RM44.90, the Chinese edition of *Thinking, Fast and Slow* RM45, *365 Activities Book for Kids* RM14.90. The list also has the Casio fx-570EX at RM85 and two Malay-language *Kaiju No. 8* or *Cardcaptor Sakura* volumes for RM22.
How to pick
- Going to AEON Mall Kuching Central or Vivacity by 9 November? Browse the clearance shelves. In Kuching, the rebates and the RM8 tissue are only at these two stores.
- Your nearest store is Everrise BDC or Matang Mall? Check the WOW! list before you drive.
- Joining or renewing anyway? Go to any Kuching store by 15 November and buy at least RM84 of regular-priced books the same day.
- Holding a voucher from an old fair? Ask at a counter. POPULAR's voucher terms page had no entry for the Emart fair when we checked, and its last edit was 13 October.
We read POPULAR's artwork, not the shelves, so stock and shelf prices at a given store are not confirmed.
