> Quick view: the POPULAR Bookfair at Farley Mall, Kuching ran 6-16 August 2026 and is over. Farley Mall has no permanent POPULAR store, so there is nothing in that building to fall back on — the live Kuching offers are a 20% storewide Big Sale at AEON Mall Kuching Central and Vivacity Megamall, 28-31 August, and a bookfair at Emart Tabuan Jaya that runs to 1 November 2026.

The fair is over

It ran 6-16 August 2026 at the LG Main Concourse, Farley Mall, Jalan Penrissen (6th Mile), Kuching. Checked on 28 August 2026, it is no longer listed on POPULAR's Ongoing Promotions hub — the page that tracks every live POPULAR bookfair. Eleven other fairs are still on that list. This one is not.

What closed with it: discounted English and Chinese book bundles, three selected English books for RM20 nett, stationery and gadget deals, up to 50% purchase-with-purchase savings on an RM60 nett spend, and members' gifts.

Farley Mall has no POPULAR store — that is the part that changes your plan

At most stops on this circuit, when the roadshow packs up the permanent in-mall store is still there. AEON Mall Kulaijaya has one at Lot G-21. AEON Mall Kuching Central has one at Lot F38 & F39. Farley Mall does not appear anywhere in POPULAR's store locator, which lists 80 POPULAR/HARRIS outlets nationwide and only four in Kuching: AEON Mall Kuching Central, Everrise BDC Complex, Matang Mall and Vivacity Megamall.

So a trip back to Farley Mall gets you nothing. You have to move.

Option 1: 20% off storewide, 28-31 August, two Kuching stores

POPULAR's Big Sale runs 28-31 August 2026: 20% off storewide on books, stationery, CD-Rama and Gadgets & IT, at 43 selected POPULAR/HARRIS stores. No membership card, no buy-two condition — which makes it a cleaner offer than the Farley fair's bundle bins were.

The Sarawak entries on the campaign artwork are AEON Mall Kuching Central, Vivacity Megamall, Bintang Megamall in Miri, Delta Mall in Sibu and tHe Spring Bintulu. Inside Kuching that means two of the four stores: AEON Mall Kuching Central (Lot F38 & F39, First Floor) and Vivacity Megamall (Lot L2-014, Level 2, Jalan Wan Alwi). Everrise BDC Complex and Matang Mall are not on the list and stay at normal prices.

Read the exclusions before you go: Robin, Text and Assessment books, nett-priced items and promotion items are all out. Also on across the four days: a free RM10 POPULAR cash voucher on a minimum RM150 nett single receipt, and a purchase-with-purchase tier on RM60 nett and above — a 3M Scotch Titanium detachable kitchen scissor at RM38.00 nett (usual RM67.50) or a SonicGear SonicGo! 5 Bluetooth speaker at RM39.90 nett (usual RM59.90 nett).

Option 2: the Emart Tabuan Jaya fair, open until 1 November

If you want the bookfair format, POPULAR Bookfair @ Emart Tabuan Jaya is the long one: 21 August - 1 November 2026, 10am-10pm, Ground Floor, G20 & G21, No 1, Tabuan Tranquility Commercial Centre, Jalan Canna, 93350 Kuching.

Its terms are thinner than Farley's were, and that is worth knowing before you make the drive:

  • A free RM5 promotion voucher on a minimum RM50 nett single receipt — half what the current Penang and Selangor fairs are giving on the same threshold
  • Purchase-with-purchase, save up to 60% on an RM60 nett spend: a UZSPACE 700ml thermal flask at RM29.90 nett (usual RM79.90), or a SonicGear SonicGo! 5 Bluetooth speaker at RM39.90 nett (usual RM59.90 nett)
  • A free exclusive gift with every new or renewed POPULAR Card / e-Card — an assorted-design clear pouch for the 3-year Privilege Card, a Pilot pen for the 1-year card
  • No book-rebate tier at all. The Emart poster carries no buy-two rebate and no discounted bundle, unlike the Farley fair's three-for-RM20 English books

That last point is the real trade: 73 days of opening hours, but the book pricing that made the Farley fair worth queueing for is not there.

Option 3: Aiman Mall from 3 September — and it is not in Kuching

POPULAR Bookfair @ Aiman Mall runs 3-28 September 2026, 9.30am-10pm, Ground Floor. POPULAR's promotions page files it as "Aiman Mall, Kuching", but the address printed on POPULAR's own campaign artwork is Aiman Mall, 94300 Kota Samarahan, Sarawak — a separate town southeast of Kuching city. Budget the drive accordingly.

Its terms are the best of the three: selected English books at RM15.00 nett each, or three for RM20 nett; selected English and Malay books, buy 2 or more, 20% rebate; a free RM5 voucher on RM50 nett; and the same RM60 nett PWP on the UZSPACE 700ml flask at RM29.90 and the SonicGear speaker at RM39.90.

The offer that follows you anywhere

Two chain-wide promotions started on 28 August and work at all four Kuching stores, Everrise BDC and Matang Mall included:

  • Super Holiday Promotion, 28 August - 16 September 2026 — selected bestsellers up to 25% off
  • POPClub Promotion, 28 August - 27 September 2026 — a members' 20% storewide gift certificate, presented at the till or through the POPULAR MY app
