> Quick view: Servay Day lands on Friday 25 September 2026. An active Servay member who spends RM100 in a single receipt earns one RM10 discount voucher, up to ten vouchers on one receipt. The vouchers print on that receipt, expire in 14 days, work only at the outlet that issued them, and cannot be spent on groceries. They are for the departmental aisles only, one voucher per transaction, so collecting the full RM100 is the easy half.

Servay calls itself East Malaysia's homegrown retailer on its own Facebook page, and for a lot of households in Sabah it simply is the weekly shop. Servay Day is the one date each month when that weekly shop pays something back.

The mechanic takes one sentence to describe and a bit of planning to actually use. Everything below comes from Servay's own published Servay Day 2026 terms at servayonline.com, read on 12 September 2026. The page is marked effective 1 January 2026 and last updated the same day, so these are the rules that have applied all year.

How Servay Day works, step by step

Step one, be an active member. The terms restrict the whole promotion to active Servay Members. Servay's member page says you sign up through the "Apply Digital Member" button and that the card works across Hyper, Jaya, Express and Online outlets. If you join or renew on Servay Day itself you also get 100 Member Points, credited within 10 working days. Servay does not publish a ringgit value for those points on that page, so treat the points as a bonus of unknown size rather than part of the maths.

Step two, build one big receipt. For every RM100 spent in a single receipt, storewide, you get one RM10 Discount Voucher. Combining receipts is explicitly not allowed, so two RM60 receipts earn nothing while one RM120 receipt earns RM10.

Step three, watch what does not count. Controlled items are excluded from the qualifying spend: milk powder, rice, cooking oil, sugar, flour and eggs, plus alcohol, cigarettes and any other government-controlled item. That is a real dent, because those are exactly the things that pad out a hypermarket trolley. A RM120 shop that includes a RM25 bag of rice and a RM18 bottle of cooking oil is a RM77 qualifying shop, and it earns nothing.

Step four, keep the receipt. The vouchers are printed directly onto the eligible receipt. There is no app wallet and no card balance. Lose the receipt and you have lost the vouchers.

What the vouchers are actually worth

The cap is ten vouchers, RM100 of face value, per member per receipt. That fixes the ceiling and makes the effective rate fall away fast once you pass it.

  • RM100 of qualifying spend earns RM10, which is 10 per cent.
  • RM1,000 of qualifying spend earns the full RM100, still 10 per cent, and that is the sweet spot.
  • RM1,500 of qualifying spend still earns only RM100, which is 6.7 per cent.
  • RM2,000 in one receipt still earns only RM100, which is 5 per cent.

Read literally, the cap is written "per member per receipt" rather than per member per day, and combining receipts is barred. On that wording a RM2,000 shop split into two RM1,000 receipts would earn twenty vouchers instead of ten. That is what the published sentence says, but it is the kind of reading a cashier may not apply, so ask at the customer service counter before you reorganise your trolley around it.

Where the vouchers can and cannot be spent

This is the part that surprises people, and it is the reason a RM100 haul can end up worth nothing.

The vouchers are redeemable at the Departmental sections only, which Servay lists as apparel for men, women and children, household goods, furniture, electrical appliances, toys, stationery, underwear, footwear, luggage, sports items, car accessories other than car perfumes, back-to-school items, and cotton items and bedsheets.

They cannot be used on items from Servay Supermarket, on Servay Online purchases, on Bee Fun vouchers, on Servay gift vouchers, on membership registration or renewal fees, or on telco reloads and E-Pay top-ups.

So the money comes out of your grocery bill and has to go back in as a kettle, a school shoe or a bedsheet.

Three more rules decide whether you can drain the full RM100:

  • Only one voucher may be used per single receipt, so RM100 of vouchers needs ten separate transactions.
  • The purchase must be worth at least as much as the voucher and no change is given, so every one of those ten transactions has to be RM10 or more.
  • The vouchers are outlet-specific and valid for 14 days from issuance, so all ten trips to the till have to happen at the same store, inside a fortnight of 25 September. Read the expiry printed on the voucher itself rather than counting days in your head.

For a sense of the range, Servay's own online listings put a 65-litre storage box at RM49.99, a double-burner gas stove at RM89.99, an outdoor umbrella at RM109.99 and a two-piece trolley case set at RM399.00. They also list a 3-gallon plastic pail at RM5.99, which is the shape of the trap: at RM5.99 the voucher cannot be used at all. The voucher is in-store only, so treat those figures as a guide to the aisles rather than a price you can pay online.

Who should plan a trip, and who should not bother

Go if you were already going to buy household or departmental goods this month. School shoes, bedsheets, a fan, storage boxes, luggage before the year-end holidays: if you can find ten separate things worth RM10 or more, the RM100 is a genuine RM100 off, and a RM1,000 grocery receipt effectively gives you 10 per cent back.

Skip it if you only ever shop the supermarket side. The vouchers will expire unused and Servay Day will have cost you an extra queue. Skip it too if your basket is mostly rice, oil, sugar, flour, eggs and milk powder, because most of that spend does not count toward earning in the first place.

The in-between case is the household that shops Servay weekly but buys departmental goods twice a year. For them the honest move is to earn only what they will use: stop at two or three vouchers rather than pushing a receipt to RM1,000 for vouchers that will die on 8 or 9 October.

The fine print that catches people

  • The vouchers are not exchangeable for cash, in whole or in part.
  • No change is given, and the purchase value must be equal to or greater than the voucher value.
  • Servay Express outlets are excluded from Servay Day entirely, even though the member card itself works there.
  • The Servay Online 5x Member Points promotion has been discontinued for Servay Day 2026. Benefits apply in store only.
  • The eco-bag that used to come with a new membership has been discontinued. New and renewing members get 100 Member Points and nothing else.
  • Servay Group reserves the right to alter, amend, suspend or terminate any part of the promotion without prior notice, and its decision is final.

When the next Servay Days fall

Servay Day is not a one-off September campaign. The terms say it is held on the 25th of every month, and the page is dated effective 1 January 2026, so the same RM100-for-RM10 mechanic is scheduled to keep running. The remaining dates this year:

  • Sunday 25 October 2026 — a weekend Servay Day, so expect the departmental aisles to be busiest on this one.
  • Wednesday 25 November 2026 — a weekday, and the quietest of the three if you want to work through ten separate transactions without queueing.
  • Friday 25 December 2026 — this one is Christmas Day, a federal public holiday. Servay has not published whether outlet hours change for it, so check with your branch before driving over.

Because the vouchers die 14 days after issuance, each month's batch has to be spent inside that month's own window. Vouchers earned on 25 October expire in early November and cannot be saved up and stacked with the November batch.

Which outlets count

Servay's own outlet list runs to 21 stores. Nineteen are in Sabah: six around Kota Kinabalu (KK Plaza, Putatan, Inanam, Likas, Servay Premier at Centre Point and Servay Jaya at 1Borneo), plus Penampang, two in Papar (Benoni and Parklane), two in Beaufort, Keningau, Kota Marudu, three in Sandakan (the Mile 7.5 hypermarket, Parkwell Departmental and Servay Supermarket at Mile 4), Lahad Datu, and two in Tawau. Two are in Miri, Sarawak: Miri Plaza and Permy Mall.

One store to ask about rather than assume. Servay posted on its own Instagram account that Servay Bandar Sri Perdana at Batu 7, Sandakan held its soft opening at 9am on Saturday 12 September 2026. It is new enough that it does not yet appear on the outlet list attached to the terms, so if that is your nearest branch, check at the counter whether it is running Servay Day on the 25th.
