What SOGO has confirmed

Everything below comes from SOGO Malaysia's own sale pages on sogo.com.my, read on 12 October 2026. The campaign has four parts, and they don't share the same dates:

  • Up to 70% off, 12-25 October, all stores. SOGO describes it as offers on selected participating brands "across fashion, beauty, home essentials and more". It doesn't list the brands or name which items reach 70%.
  • Free RM20 coupon, 16-18 October, all stores. Spend RM200 in a single receipt and get a RM20 coupon. It's open to SOGO Card members, and to non-members with any storewide purchase.
  • Top Spender Rewards, 12-25 October, all stores. The three SOGO Card members with the highest total spend over the two weeks each win 3 × RM320 e-Coupons (RM960).
  • Home Warehouse Sale, 12-22 October, SOGO KL only. It's on the 7th Floor Event Hall, advertised at up to 70% off home essentials, while stocks last.

Running at the same time is Crazy About All Things Home in the Home Department of all four stores (5-25 October). SOGO KL's Ground Floor Branded Fair runs to 15 October, with a free customised keychain for a RM300 single receipt from 12 to 15 October.

How to get the RM20 coupon, step by step

  1. Shop on 16, 17 or 18 October. A RM200 receipt on 15 or 19 October earns nothing.
  2. Keep it to one receipt of RM200 or more. Two RM120 bills don't add up to one RM240 bill here.
  3. Shop in the right departments. Purchases at the Beauty Hall, Supermarket, tenanted counters and food & beverage outlets are excluded. That rules out most cosmetics counters and the basement grocery run.
  4. Collect the coupon as the campaign instructs at the store. SOGO's page says "other terms and conditions apply" and doesn't print the coupon's validity or minimum spend, so ask how and when you can use it before you leave.

If you aren't a member yet, the free MySOGO app gives new members 400 bonus points, a RM5 e-Coupon on a first RM150 purchase, and a RM20 e-Coupon (redeemable on RM300 spent) after a first RM150 purchase within seven days. SOGO points convert at 2,000 points = RM10.

Worked examples

A home shop on Saturday 17 October. You buy a pot set and bedding from the home department for RM230 in one receipt. You get the RM20 coupon, which is worth about 8.7% of what you spent if you use it later. If you split that into a RM150 bill and a RM80 bill, you get nothing.

Paying with Atome. SOGO's year-long Atome offer (to 31 December 2026) gives RM10 off a RM150 spend or RM40 off a RM400 spend, at Customer Service Centres and selected cashiers. On a RM400 home buy that's 10% off before any coupon. SOGO doesn't say whether the RM200 threshold is counted before or after the Atome discount. A RM400 receipt clears it either way, but a RM205 one might not, so ask first.

The Top Spender race. You need to be among the top three SOGO Card members across all four stores for two weeks. For an ordinary household shop that's not realistic. Treat the RM960 as a lottery ticket that comes free with your membership, not as a reason to spend more.

Who it's good for, and who should skip it

Worth a trip if you're furnishing a home or replacing kitchen and bedroom basics. The KL Home Warehouse Sale, the Crazy About All Things Home sale and the RM20 coupon weekend overlap from 16 to 18 October, so that's the best window. It also suits anyone in Shah Alam, JB or Kuala Terengganu who rarely gets a SOGO campaign at the same level as KL. The coupon and the 70% ceiling apply at all four stores.

Skip it if you mainly buy cosmetics or groceries at SOGO. Beauty Hall and Supermarket purchases don't count towards the coupon. Also skip it if you're chasing a specific brand: SOGO hasn't said which brands take part, so check at the counter before you plan a trip around it.

Fine print that trips people up

  • The coupon window is three days, not two weeks. It's only on 16-18 October, even though the campaign runs from 12 to 25 October.
  • The warehouse sale ends first. SOGO KL's 7th-floor Home Warehouse Sale closes on 22 October, three days before the main campaign.
  • Top Spender excludes some payments. Payments made with e-Coupons, POS and rebate coupons or SOGO Points don't count towards your total, and neither do tenanted or F&B purchases. Winners are notified by phone or email within 60 days after the campaign ends.
  • SOGO KL closes earlier on some nights. It opens 10am to 10pm on Friday and Saturday and 10am to 9.30pm from Sunday to Thursday. Shah Alam, JB and Kuala Terengganu open 10am to 10pm daily, but the Kuala Terengganu store closes for a Friday break from 12.30pm to 2.30pm.
  • Getting to SOGO KL: Bandaraya LRT station (Ampang Line) has a link bridge straight into the building.
