> Status (checked 5 November 2026): this sale has ended. The Members' 1-Day Sale ran at Sunshine Square, Bayan Baru on Saturday 31 October 2026 only, and Sunshine's posts up to 4 November announce no next date. The prices and rebate below are a record, so don't expect them at the till today. The section after them lists what is still running at this store.
Sunshine is Penang's home-grown retailer, with Sunshine Central in Farlim, Sunshine Jelutong and Sunshine Bertam alongside the Bayan Baru department store. Sunshine Retail Penang announced this edition on its official Instagram on 26 October and called it a return, but it has not said how often the sale repeats.
What's on at Sunshine Square now
- Weezy pants at RM22.90 (normal price RM27.90), 24 October to 8 November, at Sunshine Square and the Sunshine Central hypermarket. This is the one brand offer from the sale weekend that outlasts it.
- Daily Morning Market, 9am to 11am. The current poster covers 2 to 5 November, and prices apply only inside those hours. Sunshine reissues it with new dates and says vegetable prices can change without notice. Our Sunshine round-up lists this round's items.
- Crazy Thursday, members only. 5 November's deal is at all outlets while stocks last: Massimo Signature Rye Multi Grain Sourdough with Citrus 200g at RM5.95 (non-member RM6.90), and China Red Globe grapes at RM3.90 a pack or RM7.50 for two (non-member RM10.80 each). It was posted only the day before, so check Sunshine's Instagram on Wednesday night for the next one.
- a.s.a.p menswear, up to 30% off selected items. The fashion label's 4 November post names Sunshine Square, Sunshine Central and Sunshine Jelutong, with no end date.
- X Copper luggage counter. New on Level 1 of the department store. Sunshine posted no promo price, so treat it as a place to look, not a deal.
Two things not to drive here for. The free Elianware tumbler (spend RM30, 2 to 29 November) is at Basement 1 of Sunshine Central, not Bayan Baru. The Häagen-Dazs luggage contest (RM20 on one receipt, 9 November to 3 January 2027) doesn't list outlets, so check the terms behind its QR code first.
What the 31 October sale offered
- RM15 instant rebate on RM150 and above, which is 10% at exactly RM150 and 5% at RM300, since the poster did not say it repeated.
- 3x members' reward points and a RM10 e-voucher for Sunshine app users.
- A mystery free gift at the Level 1 atrium for showing the Sunshine app, and a Halloween arts and craft workshop in the same spot.
- Point Knockdown: 1,800 points for RM10, 5,000 for RM30 and 7,900 for RM50.
Sunshine's Chinese caption limited the offer to goods on Levels 1 to 4, and the sale was at this one store. Brand offers ran alongside it: an Enfagrow SMART+ exchange capped at 20 a day (30-31 October), C'eal's RM10 voucher with two tumblers, and a Weezy lucky draw. Novelle bedding and Jean Perry had their own member's day posters.
Member prices to compare next time
Sunshine's 30 October poster listed these sale prices, while stocks lasted and on selected varieties. It printed no normal prices, so we can't tell you the discount. Use them as a yardstick against your last receipt.
- Nestlé ice cream 1.5 litres: RM7.95
- Dairy Champ sweetened creamer 500g: 2 for RM5 (RM2.50 each)
- F&N carbonated drink 1.5 litres: RM2.88 each
- Maggi Pedas Giler Ayam Bakar 93g: RM2.99
- Oriental Super Ring 60g: RM1.89
- Breeze liquid detergent 3.6kg, selected variants: RM17.50
As a worked example, one Breeze, one ice cream and a pair of creamers cost RM30.45 at these prices. You would still have needed about RM120 more to reach the RM150 rebate, so the rebate rewarded a full monthly shop, not a top-up trip.
If you shopped on 31 October
- Check the RM10 e-voucher in your app. Sunshine never published its minimum spend or expiry, so the voucher card is the only record.
- Check your points landed. The 3x points go to your member account, and your receipt is the evidence if the balance looks short.
- Ask before assuming knockdown rates still apply. The poster listed Point Knockdown among the day's perks, and no later post says those rates continue.
If you are planning for the next one
Bigger point tiers paid slightly more: about 0.56 sen a point at 1,800, 0.60 sen at 5,000 and 0.63 sen at 7,900. With 5,400 points, one RM30 redemption beats three RM10 redemptions, because you get the same RM30 and keep 400 points. With 8,000 points, one RM50 redemption beats four RM10s by RM10.
Membership is free through the Sunshine app on Google Play or the Apple App Store, and the app was needed for the gift and e-voucher, so sign up before the day. It suits Bayan Baru, Bayan Lepas, Sungai Ara and Relau households with a points balance. It is a poor reason to cross the island or the bridge, since other Sunshine outlets were left out of this edition.
