8 Theme Parks and Water Parks in KL, Selangor and Putrajaya 2026: MyKad Prices, and the Day Each One Shuts

We priced a family of four at every theme park and water park in the Klang Valley that publishes a rate, on each operator's own site on 12 September 2026. The same two adults and two children cost RM140 at Bangi Wonderland's online rate and RM676 at Sunway Lagoon, a difference of almost five times. Sunway Lagoon and Bangi Wonderland both close on Tuesdays unless it is a school or public holiday, District 21 stops selling tickets two and a half hours before it shuts, and SplashMania is the only park here that charges Malaysians and foreigners the same price.

Klang Valley theme park prices look simple until you read the fine print. One park charges a single flat rate to everyone, another charges nearly four times more for an adult than for a senior, a third prices every attraction separately, and three of them are shut on the day you were planning to go.

We priced all eight on each operator's own website, booking store or rate card on 12 September 2026. Every figure below comes from the park itself, not a reseller.

How to compare a theme park price before you buy

Four things decide the bill, and none of them is the headline rate.

The MyKad gap. Sunway Lagoon publishes RM268 for an adult and charges a MyKad holder RM193 online. Berjaya Times Square charges RM63 with MyKad and RM90 without. i-City prices almost every attraction twice. SplashMania does not do this at all.
Whether children cost less. At Bangi Wonderland's online rate they cost exactly the same as adults. At KidZania the child ticket costs more than the adult one, because the child is the customer there.
The closing day and the last-ticket time. Two parks close on Tuesdays and SplashMania closes on Wednesdays, each with a school and public holiday exception. District 21 stops selling and redeeming tickets at 5.30pm although it stays open until 8pm, and SplashMania shuts its counters at 5pm for a 6pm close.
Height, not age. Water parks gate rides on centimetres. SplashMania's own chart puts most of its 24 slides at 120cm or 122cm minimum.

Two adults and two children aged 8, at each park's own rate, cheapest first:

Sunway Lagoon is the outlier for a reason: one ticket covers a water park, an amusement park, a wildlife park, a scream park and an extreme park on one site, and it stays open until 11pm. The rest are single attractions. But it is still almost five times the cheapest full day here.

The one promotion worth planning around

Bangi Wonderland's Online Promo runs from 1 July to 30 September 2026 and is the only dated, park-published discount live on this list. It prices a Malaysian citizen at RM35 on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, RM38 on Saturdays and Sundays and RM40 every day during school and public holidays, with international tourists at RM45, RM48 and RM50. There is no separate child price.

Three conditions from the park's own poster. Tickets must be bought on Bangi Wonderland's website, before 12 noon on the day you visit. Daily online tickets are first come, first served. And children below 90cm enter free.

For a Malaysian family of two adults and two children, that is RM140 on a Wednesday against RM190 on the counter's four-person MyKad package, a saving of RM50, or RM72 against four single counter tickets at RM212. The park is closed on Tuesdays, so the weekday rate really means Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

The annual pass that changes the Sunway Lagoon maths

Sunway Lagoon is the most expensive day on this page and the only park here that sells an annual pass. The Annual Passport is RM348 for a new sign-up and RM328 to renew, covers all seven experiences for 12 months at one entry per operating day, and costs the same for Malaysians and non-Malaysians. The park's own published comparison rate is RM968.

Against the MyKad online rate the payback is quick. An adult ticket is RM193, so two visits in a year already cost RM386 and the pass wins from the second visit. A child ticket is RM145, so a child's pass only breaks even on the third visit. For two adults and two children, four passes are RM1,392 against RM676 a visit: two visits cost RM1,352 and stay cheaper, three cost RM2,028 and do not.

The conditions are strict. One pass covers one named person, every holder registers a fingerprint on the first visit, and the card is activated within seven days of purchase and collected from the membership counter at the main entrance, which is itself closed on Tuesdays. The renewal rate only applies within three months of expiry; after that you pay the new sign-up price again.

What the ticket does not cover

The two dearest tickets here buy less than they look like they do.

Sunway Lagoon's admission excludes four attractions outright. The Bungy Jump is RM98 with MyKad and RM175 without, G-Force X is RM41 with MyKad and RM82 without, a Go Kart run is RM35 single or RM40 double, and the EV boats are RM25 to RM40. A locker is RM28 small or RM55 large, a double tube is RM32 including its RM10 deposit, and Quack Express, which skips the queue on selected rides, is RM90 a head on top of everything else.

SplashMania's RM125 is admission only, and a water park is hard to use without the rentals. Lockers are RM18, RM40 or RM45, a single tube is RM19, a sun seat RM28 and a duo seat RM39, and cabanas run RM350 to RM550 with a refundable RM100 key deposit. A family of four taking one medium locker and two single tubes adds RM78 to the RM470 above, which is RM548 before anyone eats.

Check the free-entry lines before you buy four tickets. Sunway Lagoon admits children under 90cm free. SplashMania admits children below 3 free with a paying adult. Bangi Wonderland's online promotion also lets children below 90cm in free.

The Tuesday closures

Sunway Lagoon is closed every Tuesday except on Malaysian school and public holidays. Bangi Wonderland is closed every Tuesday except during school, public and ad hoc holidays. Both park websites say so in their own words.

For the rest of 2026 neither exception lands on a Tuesday until December. After Malaysia Day there is no public holiday in Kuala Lumpur or Selangor until Deepavali on Sunday 8 November 2026, with Monday 9 November as the replacement day, and neither is a Tuesday. Klang Valley schools are in Group B of the Ministry of Education's 2026 calendar, whose year-end holiday runs 5 to 31 December 2026, so Tuesdays 8, 15, 22 and 29 December are the next Tuesdays both parks open.

On any holiday, expect the holiday rates and hours. Bangi Wonderland opens at 10am rather than 11am. District 21 charges its RM80 weekend and holiday rate instead of RM64 and opens at 10am rather than noon. Berjaya Times Square opens at 11am, and its 50 per cent Happy Hour is not valid on public or school holidays.

The traps in the small print

District 21 stops selling tickets at 5.30pm even though the park is open until 8pm. Turn up at 6pm and you are not getting in. SplashMania does the same thing an hour tighter: its counters close at 5pm for a 6pm park close.

Two parks now check you in by face. ESCAPE Putrajaya and KidZania Kuala Lumpur both use facial recognition at the gate and require every visitor to upload a selfie from the link in the ticket email before arriving. KidZania goes further: it sells no tickets at the counter at all.

Berjaya Times Square has two Happy Hour banners on the same promotions page. The older one offers 50 per cent off Monday to Friday, 6pm to 9pm, to adults and children. The current 2026 one narrows it to MyKad and MyKid holders only, Monday to Thursday, and excludes Friday to Sunday, public holidays and school holidays. Read the newer one.

KidZania's prices carry an entertainment tax line. Its own page says all tickets are subject to a 5 per cent state government entertainment tax except for toddlers. The listed adult price of RM48.30 is exactly 5 per cent above RM46, and the child price of RM84 is exactly 5 per cent above RM80, which suggests the tax is already in the displayed figure. Confirm at checkout rather than assuming.

ESCAPE no longer has a Petaling Jaya park. Its own site lists four locations: Penang, Ipoh, Johor Bahru and Putrajaya. Plenty of guides still send families to a PJ branch.

How to pick

Cheapest real day out: Bangi Wonderland at the online weekday rate, bought before noon.
Best value if you only want water: i-City WaterWorld at RM40 for a Malaysian adult, or SplashMania if you want 24 slides and can clear 122cm.
Rain, or a weekday after school: Berjaya Times Square, entirely indoors, open to 9pm, with 50 per cent off for MyKad holders Monday to Thursday from 6pm.
Teenagers who want to be scared: District 21 on a weekday at RM64, or Sunway Lagoon's bungy jump at RM98 with MyKad instead of RM175.
Under-6s: KidZania, where the role-play city is built at their scale, or Sunway Lagoon's under-90cm free entry.
One big day, money no object: Sunway Lagoon, open until 11pm, five parks on one ticket.

Book online everywhere. Sunway Lagoon takes RM5 off, ESCAPE and KidZania advertise up to 30 per cent off, and Bangi Wonderland's online rate is 40 per cent below its own counter price.

Sunway Lagoon, Bandar Sunway, Selangor

The biggest ticket here and the only one that covers five parks at once: Water Park, Amusement Park, Wildlife Park, Scream Park, X Park, plus Lost Lagoon and the Night Park. The published adult rate is RM268, child (12 and under) and senior (60 and over) RM200. Show a MyKad and the walk-in rate drops to RM198 adult, RM150 child and senior; buy online and it is RM193 and RM145, RM5 less again. Children below 90cm enter free; child rates apply above 90cm or age 12 and under. Four rides are charged separately, and the MyKad gap on those is the widest in the Klang Valley: the bungy jump is RM175 without MyKad and RM98 with, G-Force X is RM82 against RM41, go-kart RM35 single and RM40 double, and a ride video RM40. The Quack Express queue-skip pass is RM90 a person. Boats run RM20 to RM40 depending on the craft and whether it is day or night. MyKad online rate: RM193 adult and RM145 child or senior, against a published RM268 and RM200. RM5 less than the MyKad walk-in price. SplashMania Waterpark, Gamuda Cove, Kuala Langat, Selangor

The newest big water park in Selangor, on the Gamuda Cove estate near the KLIA highway, with 24 water slides and 15 key attractions. It closes every Wednesday except on Malaysian public and school holidays, runs 10am to 6pm on the days it opens, and shuts its ticketing counters an hour before closing, so 5pm is the real cut-off. It is the only park on this list with one price for everyone: adult (13 to 59) RM125, child (3 to 12) RM110, senior (60 and above) RM110, OKU RM65, and free for children under 3 with a paying adult. There is no MyKad discount because there is no foreigner surcharge either. Extras are priced separately and add up quickly: lockers RM18, RM40 and RM45, a single tube RM19, sun seat RM28 and duo seat RM39, and cabanas from RM350 for four to RM550 for a large one with an upper deck, rented from 10am to 5pm with a RM100 refundable deposit returned if the key is back by 6pm. Wheelchairs and baby strollers are RM23 with a RM20 refundable deposit. Read the height chart before you pay: most of the big slides need 120cm or 122cm, and Mini Mania, Mini Monsta and Tiny Twista are for 106cm to 137cm only, so a 110cm child is limited to the small side of the park. At the time of checking the operator's live notices listed the Monsta slide as temporarily unavailable, the estate e-tram under maintenance with a shuttle from The Hive instead, and Big Bucket Splash closed for a private event on Sunday 13 September from 10am to 1.30pm. Bangi Wonderland Water Theme Park, Kajang, Selangor

A 14-attraction water park on Persiaran Bangi Avenue in Kajang, and the cheapest full day in this list by a wide margin. Counter rates with MyKad are RM58 adult (130cm and above), RM48 child (90cm to 130cm), RM25 senior (60 and above), RM25 OKU adult and RM20 OKU child. Without MyKad it is RM70, RM60, RM30, RM30 and RM25. Children below 90cm enter free. The counter also sells a four-person MyKad package at RM190. The online rate is where the money is: until 30 September 2026 a Malaysian citizen pays RM35 on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, RM38 at weekends and RM40 during school and public holidays, with no separate child price, and international tourists pay RM45, RM48 and RM50. Not one park but a cluster of separately ticketed attractions inside the i-City development in Shah Alam, which is why it can be the cheapest water option here or one of the dearest days out, depending on what you buy. Malaysian rates from its own ticketing store: WaterWorld RM40 adult, RM35 young adventurer, RM32 preschooler, RM35 senior or OKU, with a two-person Duo Splash at RM60; SnoWalk Aurora RM65 adult, RM55 young adventurer, RM50 preschooler; SkyCity RM45 adult, with a family pass of one adult and one child at RM75; Digital Sports Arena RM45 adult; Kidz World RM32 to RM35 at weekends with adults at RM10. Non-Malaysians pay RM45 to RM75 across the same list. Bundles are where the discount sits: Mega Fun Package RM48, Fun Package RM28, Glow Night Package RM38 and SkySplash RM60, all marked for Malaysians only. Race karting is RM75 for a beginner vehicle and RM95 for a twin, with a RM35 suit rental, RM10 mask and RM3 glove on top. One number to read sceptically: the All Day Happyness Pass 2026 at RM150 for a Malaysian adult is shown against a struck-through RM687, a total nobody would ever pay in one visit. Berjaya Times Square Theme Park, Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur

The only park on this list inside the city centre, and the only one that is entirely indoors: 133,000 square feet across Galaxy Station for thrill rides and Fantasy Garden for younger children, listed in the Malaysia Book of Records as the country's first and largest indoor theme park. Prices are refreshingly plain. With MyKad: adult (13 and above) RM63, child (3 to 12) RM53 with MyKid, senior (60 and above) RM23, OKU and pregnant women RM23, infants under 3 free. Without a Malaysian card the same tickets are RM90, RM75, RM35 and RM35. The family package of two adults and two children is RM195 for Malaysians and RM264 for foreigners; bought separately the same four tickets cost RM232, so the package saves RM37. OKU and pregnancy rates need documentation shown at the Level 5 ticketing counter. Hours are noon to 9pm Monday to Friday and 11am to 9pm at weekends, public holidays and school holidays. Its Happy Hour gives 50 per cent off entrance tickets to MyKad and MyKid holders, Monday to Thursday, 6pm to 9pm, and is not valid Friday to Sunday or on public and school holidays. District 21, IOI City Mall, Putrajaya

An apocalypse-themed indoor adventure park on Level 1 of IOI City Mall, 52,000 square feet under a 55-foot air-conditioned atrium, with eight attractions including a Ninja Warrior course, a vertical maze, a free-fall device, a trampoline field, an auto-belay climbing wall, the Tubby Ride and Malaysia's first indoor Roller Glider. Pricing is unusually simple and has just two tiers. Walk-in Active admission is RM64 on weekdays and RM80 at weekends, school holidays and public holidays, and Non-Active admission, for the adult who is only there to watch, is RM10 on any day. Hours are noon to 8pm on weekdays and 10am to 8pm at weekends, school holidays and public holidays. The trap is in the same line as the hours: the last ticket purchase or redemption is at 5.30pm, two and a half hours before the park closes. The next public holiday, Deepavali on Sunday 8 November 2026 and its replacement day on Monday 9 November, takes the RM80 rate and the 10am opening. ESCAPE Putrajaya, Alamanda Shopping Centre

An outdoor adventure park built along the alfresco side of Alamanda Putrajaya Shopping Centre, run by Sim Leisure Group, with a Zip Coaster and rope-and-climb attractions rather than machines. Prices are published as a floor rather than a fixed rate: Future Kid (0 to 3) free, Junior Kid (4 to 12) from RM52.50, Big Kid (13 to 59) from RM79.10, and Super Kid (60 to 100 and above) free when accompanied by a paying guest, with photo identification required. ESCAPE advertises up to 30 per cent off for buying online, which is where the "from" prices come from. Open daily, 10am to 6pm. Two operational details to plan for. The park uses facial recognition ticketing, and every visitor must upload a selfie through the link in the ticket email before arriving, including everyone in your group. And rescheduling needs at least one day's notice for Family and Friends tickets, two days for Team Building, Birthday Party and Greenie Programme tickets, with additional charges. A point most lists get wrong: ESCAPE has no Petaling Jaya park. Its own site lists Penang, Ipoh, Johor Bahru and Putrajaya only. KidZania Kuala Lumpur, Curve NX, Petaling Jaya

An indoor role-play city built at child scale, where children work as firefighters, surgeons, pilots and scientists in miniature establishments and are paid in kidZos. It is the one park on this list where the child ticket costs more than the adult one, because the child is the customer and the adult is a chaperone. Published rates are Baby (0 to 2) free, Toddler (3 to 5) from RM40.60, Child (6 to 17) from RM84, Adult (18 to 59) from RM48.30, and Senior (60 to 100 and above) free. Its own page notes that all tickets are subject to 5 per cent state government entertainment tax except for toddlers, and that each OKU card holder must be accompanied by a paying guest. The listed adult and child prices sit exactly 5 per cent above RM46 and RM80, which suggests the tax is already inside the figure; confirm at checkout. Two rules to know before you leave home: tickets are 100 per cent online and are not sold at the counter, and the park uses facial recognition for check-in, so everyone in the group must upload a selfie from the ticket email first. How much cheaper is a theme park ticket with a MyKad?

It depends on the park, and at one it makes no difference at all. Sunway Lagoon has the widest gap: a published adult ticket is RM268, a MyKad walk-in is RM198 and a MyKad online ticket is RM193, so RM75 off. Its pay-per-ride attractions are steeper still, with the bungy jump at RM175 without MyKad and RM98 with. Berjaya Times Square charges RM63 with MyKad and RM90 without, Bangi Wonderland RM58 against RM70 at the counter, and i-City prices almost every attraction twice. SplashMania at Gamuda Cove charges RM125 for every adult regardless of nationality.

How tall does my child need to be for the slides at SplashMania?

Taller than most parents expect. SplashMania's own height and restrictions chart puts the minimum at 120cm for Aqua Swirl, Rush Havoc, Shaka Waka and Spills & Thrills, and 122cm for Curl & Swirl, Monsta, Plunge, Sumaumeira Drop, Twin Turbo and Twista. Maniac Racers needs 106cm. Mini Mania, Mini Monsta and Tiny Twista are restricted to children between 106cm and 137cm. Curl & Swirl and Twin Turbo allow a 106cm to 122cm child to ride paired with an adult. A child under 106cm is limited to the splash pad, the carousel and the shallow play areas, so measure before you pay RM110 for a child ticket.

Is the Sunway Lagoon Annual Passport worth buying?

It depends entirely on how many times you will actually go. Against the MyKad online rate of RM193, an adult who goes twice in a year spends RM386, so the pass wins from the second visit. A child ticket is RM145, so a child's pass needs three visits to break even. For two adults and two children, four passes cost RM1,392 against RM676 for a single day, which only pays off on the third visit. One pass covers one named person, every holder registers a fingerprint on the first visit, and the card is collected from the membership counter at the main entrance, closed on Tuesdays.

Which Klang Valley theme parks let small children in free?

Three of the eight publish a free-entry line, and all three use a different test. Sunway Lagoon admits children under 90cm free, and charges the child rate above that up to age 12. SplashMania admits children below 3 years old free when they come with a paying adult, then charges RM110 from 3 to 12. Bangi Wonderland's online promotion, which runs to 30 September 2026, also lets children below 90cm in free. The other five quote a child price from the youngest age they accept, so a toddler still costs money at District 21, ESCAPE Putrajaya, KidZania, i-City and Berjaya Times Square. Check the line before you buy four tickets rather than three.
