> Quick view: Bee Cheng Hiang has launched a new bakkwa flavour, Cuttlefish Minced Pork, and it is 20% off from 1 to 11 October 2026 in West Malaysia. On the brand's online store the 300g pack is RM60 (usually RM75), 600g is RM120 (RM150) and 1kg is RM200 (RM250). For these 11 days, the new flavour costs less per gram than the classic Minced Pork.

Bee Cheng Hiang (美珍香) is a bakkwa maker with a Malaysian company based in Puchong and outlets in Penang, the Klang Valley, Johor Bahru and Kuching. Its newest freshly grilled flavour mixes cuttlefish into the familiar minced pork sheet, and the brand is carrying a "Contains Seafood" badge on every visual for it. The launch poster limits the offer to West Malaysia for 1 to 11 October 2026. The product page on beechenghiang.com.my shows the same 20% tag and notes the flavour is "Only Available for West Malaysia".
How to get the 20% off, step by step
- Pick your channel. Walk into a West Malaysian outlet, or order on the official online store for delivery within West Malaysia.
- Choose a pack size. Online, the flavour comes in 300g, 600g and 1kg. Freshly grilled bakkwa is sold by weight at the counter, so ask the outlet staff what sizes they pack it in.
- Check the price shows the discount. Online, the 20% is already applied on the product page: RM60, RM120 or RM200.
- Online only: claim the October voucher. The store lists an "Oct RM50 Voucher", which gives RM50 off a minimum spend of RM150, valid 1 to 31 October 2026. You need to log in and tap Claim before checkout.
Where the West Malaysia outlets are
Bee Cheng Hiang's store page lists these outlets in the Peninsula:
- Penang: Pulau Tikus (Jalan Burma), Plaza Gurney, Queensbay Mall, Sunway Carnival Mall Seberang Jaya
- Kuala Lumpur: Jalan Sultan (Petaling Street), Mid Valley Megamall, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur
- Selangor: One Utama, SS2 Petaling Jaya, Sunway Pyramid, Sunsuria Forum Setia Alam
- Johor Bahru: Sutera Mall
Most open 10am to 10pm daily. Queensbay and Sutera Mall run 10.30am to 10.30pm. The Vivacity Megamall outlet in Kuching is in East Malaysia, so do not count on the offer there.
Is the new flavour actually good value?
The cleanest way to compare bakkwa is price per 100g. Prices below are from the official online store on 6 October 2026.
- Cuttlefish Minced Pork, during the promo: RM20 per 100g at every size (RM60 / 300g, RM120 / 600g, RM200 / 1kg).
- Cuttlefish Minced Pork, after 11 October: RM25 per 100g.
- Classic Minced Pork (碎肉肉干): RM65.40 for 300g, RM130.80 for 600g and RM218 for 1kg, so about RM21.80 per 100g.
- For context: Black Pepper is RM230 per kg, Gourmet Bakkwa RM302 per kg and Chilli Gourmet RM308 per kg.
So during the launch window the cuttlefish sheet is RM5.40 cheaper than classic Minced Pork at 300g and RM18 cheaper at 1kg. Once the discount ends it becomes RM9.60 dearer per 300g. If you were going to buy minced pork bakkwa this week anyway, trying the new flavour costs you nothing extra.
Worked examples
- Just a taste. One 300g pack is RM60, a saving of RM15.
- Two gift packs. Two 300g packs cost RM120 instead of RM150.
- Mixed online order. 600g Cuttlefish Minced Pork (RM120) plus 300g classic Minced Pork (RM65.40) comes to RM185.40. That clears the RM150 minimum, so if the October voucher applies on top of the launch price, you pay RM135.40. At normal prices the same order is RM215.40.
- The 1kg buyer. 1kg is RM200. If the RM50 voucher also goes through, it drops to RM150, which works out to RM15 per 100g.
Who it suits, and who should skip it
It suits bakkwa regulars who want to try something new without paying a premium, and anyone sending a box to family in the Peninsula. The per-gram price undercuts the classic flavour for the whole 11 days.
Skip it if you have a seafood or shellfish allergy: the brand flags it clearly. The product is pork, so it is not halal. If you live in Sabah or Sarawak, the flavour is not offered for delivery to you, and the poster's scope is West Malaysia only.
Fine print that trips people up
- One flavour only. The 20% is on Cuttlefish Minced Pork. The other freshly grilled flavours stay at their usual prices.
- Voucher stacking is not stated. The RM50 voucher is listed on the same product page, but neither the poster nor the store says it combines with the 20% launch price. Apply it at checkout and check the total before you pay.
- Online delivery time. The store header promises delivery in 3 to 5 working days, so an order placed late in the window may arrive after 11 October. That is fine: the price is locked when you pay, so just pay by 11 October, Malaysia time.
- Freshly grilled means short shelf life. Buy what you will finish or gift within the week, not a festive stockpile.
- Images are illustrative. Bee Cheng Hiang's terms note that bakkwa shapes and sizes vary slightly.
- While stocks last. The poster carries the usual "while stock lasts" line, so a busy outlet may sell out of a new flavour first.
