Port Dickson (PD) is still the closest beach escape from KL, about an hour down the coast, and its resort strip has consolidated hard over the past decade. This list covers eight properties that are open and taking direct bookings: two private-pool-villa resorts, two classic water-chalet and big-grounds resorts, and four family, group and value picks.
This page was re-checked on 17 September 2026. Every room rate below was read off the resort's own booking engine for a one-night stay on Wednesday 7 October 2026 (a normal weekday) and, where it matters, Saturday 10 October 2026, for two adults. Three things changed since our August check: two resorts we had described as "no rate card" (Glory Beach and Pacific Regency) now quote real prices, the Lexis Hibiscus entry rate turned out to exclude breakfast, and three Merdeka-period offers have ended.
What a night in Port Dickson actually costs
Weekday rates for two adults, checked 17 September 2026 for Wednesday 7 October:
- Glory Beach Resort — two-bedroom apartment (up to 3 guests) RM122.14; three-bedroom RM187.86; three-bedroom sea view RM212.66; Penthouse Type 2 (up to 7 guests) RM246.14; Premium Apartment RM280.24
- Pacific Regency Beach Resort — Deluxe City RM220 room only or RM280 with breakfast; Deluxe Sea View RM270 / RM330; Family Suite RM550 / RM780; Seri Menanti Junior Suite RM800 / RM970; Seri Menanti Suite RM1,200 / RM1,250
- Avillion Port Dickson — Superior Room from RM190 on its rooms page; Garden Chalet and Water Chalet from RM280; Premium Water Chalet RM500; 1-bed Water Villa RM880; 2-bed RM1,030; 3-bed Ultimate Duplex RM2,500
- Grand Lexis Port Dickson — Deluxe Pool Villa RM330 with breakfast; Garden Pool Villa RM470; Deluxe Suite RM530; Executive Pool Villa RM580; Sky Pool and Grand Garden Pool Villa RM640; Premium Pool Villa RM690; Grand Pool Villa RM790; two-bedroom Premier Suite RM1,190; Sky Pool Grand Villa RM1,390
- Thistle Port Dickson Resort — extended MATTA rate, Deluxe Garden RM250+ for one night (RM199+ a night on a five-night pass); Midweek Romance Escape RM499 nett for two with dinner
- The Regency Tanjung Tuan — three-bedroom apartment from RM580, five-bedroom from RM810, taxes included (August engine check; the Ruby Jubilee codes below take 20-40% off)
- Lexis Hibiscus Port Dickson — Executive and Sky Pool Villa RM820 with breakfast, or RM701.10 non-refundable room only; Panorama Pool Villas RM1,140-RM1,340; suites RM3,000, RM4,800 and RM7,800
- Corus Paradise Resort — renovation notice still on its homepage; confirm by phone before pricing a stay
The headline finding has shifted. The cheapest bed on the strip is no longer a chalet: Glory Beach's self-catering apartments undercut everything, and a three-bedroom for five people works out to about RM37.57 a head. For a private pool in your own room, Grand Lexis at RM330 with breakfast is still the cheapest on a weekday.
Weekday or weekend: the same resort, very different prices
The midweek gap in Port Dickson is bigger than any discount code. On Grand Lexis's own engine, the RM330 Deluxe Pool Villa, the RM470 Garden Pool Villa and the RM530 Deluxe Suite were all not offered at all for Saturday 10 October. The cheapest room left was the Executive Pool Villa at RM650, and every other category went up by RM70 (Sky Pool Villa RM640 to RM710, Premium Pool Villa RM690 to RM760, Sky Pool Grand Villa RM1,390 to RM1,460).
Worked example for a Malaysian couple, one night at Grand Lexis:
- Wednesday: RM330 room with breakfast + RM26.40 SST (8%) + RM4 Fi Lestari = RM360.40
- Saturday: RM650 Executive Pool Villa + RM52 SST + RM4 Fi Lestari = RM706
That is RM345.60 more for the same resort, three nights later in the same week. Both rates are Best Available Rate, non-refundable and non-amendable once confirmed. A third or fourth guest is RM78+ per adult and RM60+ per child aged 7 to 12, breakfast included.
The two rate traps at the Lexis resorts
Grand Lexis: the "Published Rate". Its Deluxe Pool Villa page still says the "Published Rate" is RM1,098. That is a rack figure, not what anyone pays; the booking engine quoted the same villa at RM330 for 7 October. If a third-party listing quotes something close to RM1,098, go back to the resort's own engine.
Lexis Hibiscus: RM701.10 has no breakfast. The RM701.10 figure this page quoted as the entry price until this update is the engine's Non-Refundable Room ONLY rate for the Executive and Sky Pool Villa. The Best Available Rate with breakfast for the same villa was RM820 for Wednesday 21 October. Whether the cheaper rate is really cheaper depends on whether you eat breakfast:
- Room only: RM701.10 + RM56.09 SST + RM4 Fi Lestari = RM761.19, then breakfast for two at the RM75 walk-in adult price the Lexis group printed in its September MATTA terms = RM911.19
- With breakfast: RM820 + RM65.60 SST + RM4 Fi Lestari = RM889.60
So the room-only rate only wins if you skip the hotel breakfast. The same pattern holds up the ladder: Premium Pool Villa RM760.95 room only against RM890 with breakfast, Premium Pool Sea View Villa RM931.95 against RM1,090.
Corus Paradise: renovation notice still up
Corus Paradise Resort still has its "Renovation Notice" artwork on its homepage as of 17 September 2026. The image was uploaded in December 2024 and says the renovation is "expected to be completed by 3rd Quarter 2026", which ends on 30 September. The notice does not say the resort is closed, and the booking form is live, but it has not been updated to say the works are finished. Call the front office (019-661 1973) before booking and ask which pools and room blocks are open on your dates.
Fees that are never in the headline rate
- SST — 8% of the room rate. Grand Lexis and Lexis Hibiscus show their engine prices "excluding Sales & Service Tax", so add 8% to those numbers.
- Fi Lestari — RM4.00 per room per night. A sustainability fee in force since 1 November 2025, collected at check-in and not included in the room rate. Grand Lexis and Lexis Hibiscus state it on every rate in their booking engines and Avillion posts it on its own site, so budget for it wherever you stay.
- Tourism Tax — RM10.00 per room per night, under the Tourism Tax Act 2017, for foreign tourists and non-resident guests. Malaysian citizens and permanent residents are exempt.
On a two-night stay the flat fees add RM8 for a Malaysian couple and RM28 for a foreign couple, on top of the 8% SST.
Offers that are live now (checked 17 September 2026)
- Thistle — Extended MATTA Fair Deals. Book by 30 September 2026 for stays from 7 September 2026 to 8 March 2027. Deluxe Garden from RM199+ a night on a five-night pass, RM230+ on a three-night pass or RM250+ for one night; Deluxe Seafront RM249+, RM280+ or RM300+. Add RM50+ a night on Saturdays and school holidays and RM100+ on public holidays, their eves and peak season. Reservations by phone (06-648 2828) or email.
- Lexis Hibiscus and Grand Lexis — Tropical Escape, valid to 15 December 2026. Up to 15% off the Best Available Rate with breakfast when you book at least 30 days ahead, or up to 5% off plus a free one-way KLIA transfer for two on a three-night stay (return transfer for four nights or more). Non-refundable, blackout dates apply, and the early-booking discount excludes the three suites at Lexis Hibiscus.
- The Regency Tanjung Tuan — Ruby Jubilee 40. 40% off two consecutive weekday nights (Monday-Thursday) with code RJWDS, or 20% off two consecutive weekend nights with RJWEE, official-website bookings only, stays to 31 December 2026, no blackout dates. At the RM810 five-bedroom rate we saw in August, the weekday code would bring it to RM486 a night, about RM48.60 a head for ten people. The extra 10% early-bird discount ended on 12 September.
- Thistle — Midweek Romance Escape, RM499 nett for two with breakfast, a candlelight dinner and 3pm check-out, weekdays to 3 December 2026; Thistle Adventure Escape, RM510, RM730 or RM830 nett with an Unlimited activity package (banana boat, donut ride, one jet ski session and one ATV ride for two), to 31 December 2026.
- Grand Lexis — The Grand Merdeka Fish Head Feast at Roselle Coffee House, curry or asam pedas fish head, ends Sunday 20 September 2026.
Ended: Thistle's Jiwa Malaysia Escape (16 September), Lexis Hibiscus's Kidz World Merdeka Fun Package (6 September) and the Regency's early-bird window (12 September).
Getting to Port Dickson from KL
Port Dickson sits roughly 90-95km south-west of Kuala Lumpur, about an hour in clear traffic, most of it on the North-South Expressway (E2) before you turn off at Seremban for the Seremban-Port Dickson road. Leave KL on a Friday evening or a school-holiday morning and that hour can stretch to two. From KLIA, The Regency puts the drive at about 45 minutes.
The resorts are strung along one coastal road. Lexis Hibiscus and Grand Lexis sit together at the Pasir Panjang end; Glory Beach is at Tanjung Gemok on Jalan Seremban, about 10 minutes from town; Avillion is at 3rd Mile; Thistle and Pacific Regency (Batu 7½, Jalan Pantai) are at Teluk Kemang; The Regency is at 5th Mile, Jalan Pantai. Teluk Kemang has the most food and shops within walking distance.
There is no direct rail link to the beaches. The nearest KTM Komuter station is Seremban, about 35km inland, so a car or a Grab from Seremban is the practical way in.
How to pick
- Cheapest bed: Glory Beach's two-bedroom apartment at RM122.14 on a weekday, with a kitchenette.
- Cheapest private pool: Grand Lexis Deluxe Pool Villa, RM330 with breakfast, weekdays only in practice.
- Groups of five to ten: Glory Beach's three-bedroom (RM187.86 for five) if you want the lowest price; The Regency's five-bedroom with the RJWDS code if you want 1,700 sq ft and a white-sand beach.
- A conventional hotel room on the beach: Pacific Regency's Deluxe City, RM220 room only or RM280 with breakfast.
- A package you don't have to think about: Thistle's RM499 nett Midweek Romance Escape, or its MATTA rates if you can book by 30 September.
- The trophy stay: Lexis Hibiscus, with its two Guinness World Records. Compare the room-only and breakfast rates before you pay.
- Water chalets: Avillion at RM280.
Whatever you pick, price a Wednesday before a Saturday. On this check, moving one night from a Saturday to a Wednesday saved RM345.60 at Grand Lexis, which is more than any code on this page.
