> Quick view: COURTS opens a new store in Kota Samarahan on Friday 30 October 2026 and holds opening prices until 11 November. The headline buys are a 1HP inverter aircond for RM899, fans at RM49 and RM79, fridges and a washer from RM799, and TVs from RM1,599. Every item is limited units, TV prices are member prices, and the BNPL savings are "up to" figures.
Kota Samarahan is a university town about half an hour from Kuching, home to UNIMAS and a steady flow of students and young families setting up rented rooms and new houses. Until now, buying a big appliance from COURTS meant a trip into Kuching. The new branch sits in G3 Commercial Centre on Jalan Dato Mohd Musa, and COURTS Malaysia announced the opening on its Facebook page with the Sarawak greeting "Kota Samarahan, kamek datang!" alongside eight price posters. Everything below comes from those posters.
Every price COURTS has published
Cooling (limited units): - Korea-branded 1HP inverter aircond: RM899, normal RM1,849. Dual sensing, fast cooling, auto swing. - Branded 12-inch table fan: RM49, normal RM133. Copper motor, 3 speeds. - Branded 10-inch stand fan (blue): RM79, normal RM169. 90W, 3 speeds, 5 blades.

The fridge, washer and aircond posters only say "branded", "Korea branded" or "Japan branded", not the brand or model. Ask to see the unit before you commit, because the model decides the warranty, the energy rating and whether it fits your kitchen.
How it works, step by step
- Go early in the run. Each poster carries a "limited units" or "while stock lasts" badge. The 30 October opening day is when the counted stock is on the floor.
- Ask about member pricing at the counter. The TV tiles show a normal price and a lower member price. COURTS' website invites shoppers to sign up as a free HomeClub member through its account page, but neither the posters nor the Facebook post say whether that is what the store means by "member". Ask what you need to show, and register on the spot if it is free.
- Decide how you will pay. Cash or card gets you the poster price. COURTS also lists up to RM120 off with SPayLater and up to RM150 off with Atome. "Up to" means the top tier, which usually needs a bigger spend.
- Ask for the monthly plan in writing if you want the instalment figure. The TV posters show monthly amounts (RM47 for the 55-inch Sharp, RM58 for the 65-inch Sharp or LG, RM137 for the 85-inch Samsung), but not the tenure, the plan or the total you will repay.
- Confirm delivery and installation. The posters say nothing about delivery charges or aircond installation, so get both on the receipt.
Worked examples
- A student room near campus: the RM49 table fan plus the RM799 2-door fridge comes to RM848, against RM2,042 at normal prices. Splitting it between two housemates is RM424 each.
- One cooler bedroom: the RM899 aircond saves RM950 against its RM1,849 normal price. Add a RM79 stand fan for the living room and you spend RM978. Installation is not included in the poster price.
- New house, big kitchen: the 520L 4-door fridge (RM1,599) plus the 10.5kg washer (RM799) totals RM2,398, down from RM5,388.
- Living room TV: the 65-inch Sharp and the 65-inch LG QNED70 are both RM1,999, so the choice is between Sharp's Google TV and LG's Mini LED panel at the same price. If the RM58 a month on either runs for 36 months, you would repay RM2,088, which is RM89 more than paying up front. Check the real tenure before you sign.
Who it is good for, and who should skip it
It suits Samarahan residents and UNIMAS-area renters who need a fridge, fan or aircond now and would rather not haul it from Kuching. It also suits anyone after a large TV, where the savings are biggest in ringgit. Skip it if you live in central Kuching and only need a fan, since the drive eats most of the saving. Skip the instalment route if the plan is not 0%, because a credit agreement can cost more than the discount gives you.
The fine print that trips people up
- Limited units is on every product tile. COURTS does not say how many of each.
- The RM1 opening deals are advertised with a furniture picture, but no RM1 item is named. Treat it as a door-buster and ask which items qualify and whether there is a minimum spend.
- The Samsung U8000F poster carries a QLED badge, but the model sits in Samsung's Crystal UHD line. Compare the picture in store rather than relying on the badge.
- Opening hours for the new branch are not published yet. COURTS' terms and conditions apply, and stock runs while it lasts.
