We read the price pages and live booking systems of six escape room operators in KL and Selangor on 6 November 2026. Puzzle rooms in malls cost RM32 to RM56 a player, while live-actor horror rooms run RM108 to RM128. Group size and the time you book change the bill more than the room does.
Escape rooms are one of the easier group outings to plan in the Klang Valley: a 45 to 75 minute game, in a mall or near a train station, for roughly the price of a cinema ticket and a meal. Prices are less obvious than they look. Some operators charge by group size, some by time of day, and the horror rooms with live actors cost two to three times more.
What's on this list: six operators we could confirm are taking bookings now, with prices read from their own price pages or booking systems on 6 November 2026. Five run puzzle rooms; Hauntu is a horror walk-through, included because it books the same way. We dropped operators whose sites no longer load or that are listed as closed. No operator paid to appear.
Prices can change, so confirm when you book. The cards come first, then the table and how to choose.
What a game actually costs
For a group of four, the published rates give these totals:
- Mission-Q Sunway on a weekday: RM128 (RM32 each)
- Bomb Battle off-peak: RM160, or RM120 with Buy 3, Free 1 until 15 November
- Breakout regular room: RM180, or RM153 if all four are students using STUDENT15
- Hauntu: RM276
- LOST in KL, Until Death: RM512 for four adults
The spread is wide because these are different products. A 45-minute mall puzzle room and a 90-minute horror room with actors are not the same night out, so pick the format first and then compare prices within it.
Group size matters most at Breakout. Two players pay RM50 each, eight pay RM42. Splitting a group of eight into two rooms of four costs RM360 instead of RM336, so keep a big group together if one room fits.
Time of day matters most at Bomb Battle and Mission-Q. Bomb Battle's peak rate starts at 5pm on weekdays, and Mission-Q's Saturday rate was RM6 to RM8 higher than its weekday rate. A weekday afternoon game during the school holidays is the cheapest slot on this list.
How to choose
- First game, mixed group: a mall puzzle room. Breakout's Project Fallout is rated for beginners, and Bomb Battle's Shangri-La and Framed and Forsaken are rated 3 out of 5.
- On a tight budget: Mission-Q at Sunway on a weekday, or Bomb Battle off-peak during its promo.
- Want to be scared: LOST in KL for the full story and actors, MAZE for long games, or Hauntu if your group doesn't want puzzles.
- Students: Breakout and Hauntu both give 15% off; LOST in KL has a student price for ages 11 to 18.
- With young children: LOST in KL lets children 10 and under in free with two adults, but check whether the room is suitable. Hauntu doesn't admit children 7 and under.
Before you book
- Check the minimum players. Some Breakout rooms need three, and MAZE's rooms need four or five.
- Read the scare and age notes. Several rooms use live actors, darkness, handcuffs or flashing lights, and some are 18+.
- Arrive early. Most operators brief you before the clock starts, and late arrivals can lose game time.
- Ask about cancellation. Bomb Battle's promo bookings are non-refundable unless it cancels the session.
- Confirm the price for your group. MAZE publishes none, and Mission-Q's changes by date and room.
