> Quick view: Family Store runs 11 neighbourhood supermarkets in Negeri Sembilan and is currently carrying three different September price lists across them. None of the three covers all 11 stores. The state-wide Selamat Hari Malaysia flyer is the only one everyone gets, and it publishes no fresh price at all in its first four days. Two branch-exclusive lists fill that gap, one at four stores and one at two, and both end on Sunday 13 September. Five branches are on the state-wide flyer alone. The lists were clearly not priced against each other: the same kacang buncis is RM2.90 a kilo on one and RM8.90 a kilo on another.
Three flyers, three different maps
Almost every supermarket promotion in Malaysia works the same way. One flyer, one set of prices, every store in the chain. You can read it once and know what your local branch is charging.
Family Store is not doing that this month. Its Facebook page is currently carrying three separate campaign flyers, all live, and each one names a different set of branches in a red bar across the top.
The first is the Selamat Hari Malaysia flyer, and it is the only one that says it applies everywhere. The line under the masthead reads "Promosi sah untuk semua cawangan di Negeri Sembilan", valid at every Negeri Sembilan branch. It is two pages. The grocery and household page is dated 7 to 18 September 2026. The fresh page is split into two separate windows, 11 to 13 September and 16 to 18 September, and carries nothing outside them.
The second is headed Weekly Deals, dated from 7 to 13 September 2026, and the red bar reads "EKSKLUSIF @ CAWANGAN #TTJ #AMPANGAN #SENAWANG #TEMPLER". Four branches out of 11.
The third is headed Promosi Hebat, tagged "6 Hari Sahaja", dated 8 to 13 September 2026, and its red bar reads "FAMILY STORE - SIKAMAT & REMBAU". Two branches out of 11.
The two branch lists overlap in time. They never overlap in geography. No single Family Store gets both.
What each branch is actually entitled to
Family Store's own store locator lists 11 outlets plus a headquarters address. Set the three flyers against that list and the chain splits into three tiers.
Four branches get the state-wide flyer plus Weekly Deals: Taman Tuanku Jaafar (Sungai Gadut), Ampangan, Senawang and Templer (Jalan Tun Dr. Ismail).
Two branches get the state-wide flyer plus Promosi Hebat: Sikamat (Taman Desa Kiara) and Rembau Sentral.
Five branches get the state-wide flyer and nothing else: Rasah Jaya, Seremban 2, Port Dickson (Teluk Kemang), Bukit Galena and Rasah Kemayan.
That last group matters more than it looks. Rasah Jaya is the original store, opened on 19 April 1989, and it sits a short drive from Templer and Bukit Galena. Port Dickson is the outlier, roughly 30km from the nearest branch on either exclusive list, so a Teluk Kemang shopper cannot casually switch stores to chase a price.
One small operational detail worth knowing before you plan a late run: ten of the 11 branches trade 8.30am to 10pm. Rasah Jaya closes at 9.30pm, half an hour earlier than the rest.
The same vegetable, two prices, six ringgit apart
This is the part that makes the branch split worth an article rather than a footnote.
Kacang buncis, French beans, appears on two of the three flyers. On Weekly Deals it is RM2.90 a kilo, available at TTJ, Ampangan, Senawang and Templer until 13 September. On the state-wide Hari Malaysia fresh page it is RM8.90 a kilo, available everywhere but only from 16 to 18 September.
Both flyers cap you at 3kg per family. So the maximum buy is RM8.70 at the four exclusive branches this week, or RM26.70 at any branch next week. That is RM18.00 of difference on one capped purchase of the same named item.
The flyers do not explain the gap, and it is fair to assume the two lots are not identical produce, because supermarket beans vary by origin and grade. What the flyers do say is the product name, the weight and the price, and on that evidence a shopper who reads only the Hari Malaysia flyer will pay three times more for beans than a shopper who happened to walk into Senawang.
The pear arithmetic
The fruit comparison is cleaner, because both prices are live in the same three days.
From 11 to 13 September, the state-wide flyer sells Pear, 6 pieces, at RM6.90. That is RM1.15 a pear. Over the same three days, the Weekly Deals flyer at TTJ, Ampangan, Senawang and Templer sells Pir Ya (Ya pear), 8 pieces, at RM4.59 per pack. That is about RM0.57 a pear, or half the price for a piece of fruit that goes in the same lunchbox.
The two flyers name them differently, so this is not strictly the same variety. It is still the same category, the same chain, the same three days, and a RM2.31 difference on a bigger pack.
The rest of the Weekly Deals fruit runs to a pomelo at RM3.88 each, a 5-piece box of green kiwi at RM6.99, red dragon fruit at RM2.90/kg, cauliflower at RM3.50/kg and a 1.5kg pack of potatoes at RM1.79. Buying one of each of those four fruit lines costs RM18.36 and gets you a pomelo, eight pears, five kiwis and a kilo of dragon fruit.
Where the calendar leaves holes
Read the three date bands together, then set them against the chain's next campaign, and three gaps appear.
7 to 10 September: the state-wide flyer has its pantry page running but publishes no fresh price at all. Its first fresh window does not open until Friday 11 September. So for the first four days of Family Store's September promotion, the only discounted fresh produce in the entire chain sits on the two branch-exclusive lists. If you are at Rasah Kemayan on Wednesday 9 September, there is no promotional vegetable price for you anywhere.
14 and 15 September: both branch lists finished on Sunday 13 September, and the second state-wide fresh window does not open until Wednesday 16 September. Monday and Tuesday of that week have no promotional fresh price anywhere in the chain. The pantry list keeps running; the vegetables do not.
The second fresh window opening on 16 September is not a coincidence. That is Malaysia Day itself, and it falls on a Wednesday this year, which means the window runs Wednesday to Friday rather than across a weekend.
19 September: there is a third hole, and it is the most predictable of the three, because it is not specific to this campaign at all. The Hari Malaysia flyer stops on Friday 18 September and Family Store's next campaign does not begin until Sunday 20 September. The chain has left that same one-day seam in each of the last two months. The section below explains how that calendar works and what it means for the week after Malaysia Day.
The six-day list at Sikamat and Rembau
Promosi Hebat is the smallest of the three and the most aggressive per item. Four products, six days, 8 to 13 September, at Sikamat and Rembau Sentral only.
The four are Sawi Jepun at RM0.90 a kilo, limau kasturi at RM0.90 a kilo, MFM Cap Ros wheat flour, 850g, at RM1.95 and Gold Coin Juara sweetened creamer, 500g, at RM2.39.
Two of those are the classic kopitiam pairing, flour and sweetened creamer, and both carry a 3-unit-per-family-per-day cap. A kilo of calamansi at RM0.90 is the sort of price that only appears when a branch has volume to move, which is also why the flyer prints "sementara stok masih ada", while stocks last, in the same footer.
A shopper at Sikamat on Friday 11 or Saturday 12 September is in the best position of anyone in the chain: the Promosi Hebat list and the first state-wide fresh window are both live at that store on those days. One kilo each of sawi jepun and limau kasturi (RM1.80), the flour and creamer (RM4.34), plus tauhu putih at RM0.39, a kilo of bayam hijau at RM1.50 and a kilo of whole chicken leg at RM10.90 comes to RM18.93 across seven items.
What comes after 18 September
Family Store's promotions blog is thin on prices but strict about dates, and three months of it are enough to read the shape of the chain's calendar. It posts twice a month, and the two posts are always the same two campaigns.
The first post lands on or about the 4th, and covers the 7th to the 18th. This month's went up on 4 September 2026 for 7 to 18 September. August's went up on 4 August for 7 to 18 August. July's went up on 4 July for 7 to 18 July.
The second post lands on or about the 17th, and covers the 20th of that month to the 5th of the next. August's went up on 17 August for 20 August to 5 September. July's went up on 17 July for 20 July to 5 August.
Two things follow for anyone planning around Malaysia Day. The next Family Store campaign should appear around 17 September 2026 and run 20 September to 5 October 2026, and as of 10 September it had not been posted yet. And the one-day gap is structural rather than a slip: 19 July, 19 August and now 19 September all fall between the end of one campaign and the start of the next. If you are stocking up this fortnight, Friday 18 September is the last day of discounted fresh produce, and the next campaign opens on the Sunday.
This is a pattern read off the chain's own posting history, not a schedule Family Store publishes anywhere. Treat 20 September as the shape the last three months have taken rather than a commitment.
Who should skip this
If you shop at Rasah Jaya, Seremban 2, Port Dickson, Bukit Galena or Rasah Kemayan, the honest answer is that this month's promotion is thinner for you than the Facebook feed suggests. You get the pantry page from 7 September, then nothing fresh until 11 September, then a three-day window, then a two-day pause, then a final three-day window. Driving to Senawang for RM6-a-kilo beans is a real saving only if you were going that way anyway.
If you have a baby in nappies, note that the two nappy lines sit on different flyers and different rules. Drypers Drypants (M58, L48, XL42, XXL36) at RM26.99 is on the state-wide fresh page, so it is a 11-13 September item. Dr.P Value Tape (M10, L9, XL8) at RM14.99 and Drypers Head To Toe 650ml at RM10.99 are on the pantry page, so they run the full 7 to 18 September.
The fine print that trips people up
The caps are worded differently. Weekly Deals says "each item is limited to 3 units per family per day". Promosi Hebat says "terhad kepada 3 unit / 3kg setiap keluarga sehari", per family per day. The state-wide flyer's footer says "terhad kepada 3 unit / 3 kg setiap keluarga" and omits the word for "per day" entirely. Whether that is a genuine difference or a printing shorthand is not something the flyer settles, so treat 3 units as the working limit and expect the cashier to apply it per visit.
Every list carries a stock-out clause. All three flyers print "sementara stok masih ada". On loss-leader produce at RM0.39 and RM0.90, that clause does real work, and the branch lists are the ones most likely to run dry because they are stocked for two or four stores rather than eleven.
The state-wide flyer disclaims itself. Its footer reads that all prices and information were confirmed correct at the time of printing but are subject to change without notice.
The website announces the campaign, but it does not carry the prices. familystore.com.my runs a promotions blog, and it did publish this campaign. A post headed "September Special Promotion" went up on 4 September 2026, carrying the Selamat Hari Malaysia masthead artwork and exactly one line of detail: "Promotion Date: 7 - 18 SEPTEMBER 2026". What it does not carry is a single price. The post is the banner and nothing else, with no grocery page, no fresh page, and no mention anywhere that two branch-exclusive lists also exist. So the website is a reliable place to confirm that a campaign is running and when, and the Family Store NS Facebook page is still the only official place any of the actual prices, or the branch restrictions, can be read.
One paperwork oddity, for completeness. The Hari Malaysia flyer's footer names the publisher as Sikamat Family Store Sdn Bhd (381202-A), Taman Desa Kiara, Seremban, while the Facebook page's own profile describes the business as FS Family Store Sdn. Bhd. (389764-U). Both are the company's own descriptions of itself. It changes nothing for a shopper, but it is the kind of thing worth knowing if you ever need to raise a complaint in writing.
The one-line version
Check the red bar at the top of the flyer before you check the prices. On Family Store's September campaign, that bar is doing more work than any of the numbers underneath it.
