> Quick view: Freeport A'Famosa Outlet's two September offers have ended. The Peranakan MOONLITE Festival was on Saturday 26 September, and PONEY's free plush with a RM199 receipt ran until 30 September. October's only mall event is the Glow-O-Ween Adventure on Saturday 31 October 2026, a 3km or 5km night run or bike ride from 8pm to 10.30pm, priced from RM25. Book through the Google Form on Freeport's homepage or ask on WhatsApp at +60 11-1600 0222.

Freeport A'Famosa Outlet is the open-air outlet mall next to A'Famosa Resort in Simpang Empat, Alor Gajah, built like a Dutch street with a windmill, a carousel and a lake. It opens daily from 10am to 10pm. We re-checked its homepage, its Special Deals page and the mall's announced tenant offers on 3 October 2026. This page now covers what is on in October and what has ended.

What ended in September

  • Peranakan MOONLITE Festival, Saturday 26 September. Freeport's Mid-Autumn evening charged RM28 per child for the hand-fan colouring contest (5pm to 6.30pm, with a burger, a lantern and a mooncake) and RM35 for two for the Moonlite Party (7pm to 9pm). The registration form closed early, on or before 22 September.
  • PONEY's free Faye or Finn plush, 7 to 30 September. A RM199 receipt at PONEY, Lot 20, earned a horse plush valued at RM129. The offer was for September only and has not been extended.

Glow-O-Ween Adventure, Saturday 31 October

Freeport's homepage now leads with the Glow-O-Ween Adventure: "Glow Up. Scare On. Adventure Awaits!" The event poster gives the details the homepage leaves out:

  • Date and time: Saturday 31 October 2026, 8.00pm to 10.30pm. That is Halloween itself, and it falls on a Saturday this year.
  • Format: "3KM & 5KM Run or Ride". The artwork shows runners and cyclists in glow-in-the-dark outfits passing the mall's Dutch facade at night, so read it as a glow night run with a cycling option rather than a haunted house.
  • Price: from RM25, per the homepage banner.
  • Booking: the "Let's Go" button opens a Google Form. It asks you to sign in with a Google account before it shows anything. The WhatsApp line, +60 11-1600 0222, is the other way in.

What Freeport has not said yet

The poster and homepage stop there. As of 3 October 2026 they do not say:

  • what the RM25 tier includes (a medal, a glow kit or a T-shirt are common at night runs, but none is promised here), or what the higher tiers cost;
  • whether bicycles are provided or you must bring your own;
  • whether the 3km and 5km are priced differently, or whether children run free with an adult;
  • when registration closes. The Moonlite form filled up two days before its printed deadline, so do not leave this to the last week.

Ask those four questions on WhatsApp before you pay, and keep the reply.

Who it suits, and who should skip it

Good for: families with primary-school children who can manage 3km on foot or by bike after dark; casual runners who want a short, themed route rather than a timed race; anyone already in Melaka that weekend. Arrive in the afternoon, shop the outlets and eat before the 8pm start, as the mall closes at 10pm and the event ends at 10.30pm.

Skip it if: you want a certified, timed 5km. Nothing on the poster mentions timing chips or rankings. KL families should weigh the drive: Freeport is 1.5 to 2 hours from KL each way, and a 10.30pm finish means a late drive home or a night in Melaka.

Shopping at Freeport in October

No tenant has posted an October offer specific to the outlet as of 3 October. The homepage still headlines "up to 90% off" and the Special Deals page "up to 80%", without naming brands or dates. Read both as a ceiling on selected lines, not a storewide rate. PONEY's own online shop is running an F1 Buy 3 Free 2 deal until 4 October, but that is a website offer and the Lot 20 outlet has not said it honours it.

Fine print that trips people up

  • Old e-vouchers. Freeport's "Let's Get Rewarded" page still lists 20 brand e-vouchers, such as RM10 off RM200 at PONEY and RM50 off RM250 at PUMA. The four we opened all say valid until 31 December 2022.
  • Google sign-in. The Glow-O-Ween form needs a Google account. If you do not use one, use WhatsApp.
  • Open-air route. Freeport is mostly outdoors, and late October is monsoon-transition weather in Melaka. Ask what happens to the event if it rains.
