Johor Bahru's pickleball scene has grown quickly, and a good share of the demand comes across the Causeway: Singapore lifestyle sites now publish their own guides to JB courts. That has produced a market where eight venues within an hour of each other price the same hour of play in eight different ways, with different peak times, different court tiers and, in half the cases, temporary promo prices.
So this is a price check, not a list of nice courts. On 17 September 2026 we read each venue's current rate card on the booking page it uses: the live "Opening hours & Pricing" panel on Courtsite for Forum Tebrau, EduCity and X Park, the venue page on playsportstogether.com (the AFA booking platform) for 55 Gatheround, JuzDink, D Pickle Zone and Pickle Friends, and ATP Club's own website alongside its Courtsite panel. We then checked each venue on Google Maps to confirm it is trading. On 20 September 2026 we re-read all eight rate cards, and every one was unchanged. On 27 October 2026 we re-read all eleven rate cards in this article (the eight below plus three added on 20 September) and again found no change: JuzDink is still headed "Merdeka! Promotion", and ATP Club still lists its weekend happy hour for September to December 2026. The prices below are per court, per hour, for up to four players.
Three things that move the price more than the venue
1. Whether you are paying a promo price. Four of the eight venues are advertising a promotional rate without an end date. JuzDink's rate card was still headed "Merdeka! Promotion" on 17 September, after both Merdeka and Malaysia Day, and it still was on 27 October. D Pickle Zone calls its prices "exclusive launch promotional rates, available for a limited time only, until further notice". EduCity labels its card "Limited Promo!", and Pickle Friends shows a "Limited-Time Promo Price" beside a normal price RM8 higher. Only ATP Club dates its promotion.
2. When peak starts. A 5.30pm booking is peak at X Park, EduCity and 55 Gatheround (from 5pm), off-peak at Forum Tebrau, JuzDink, D Pickle Zone and Pickle Friends (until 6pm), and still off-peak at ATP Club until 7pm.
3. Whether 6% SST is on top. Forum Tebrau prints "+ 6% SST" beside every rate, and X Park's panel says its prices exclude 6% SST. The other six do not state it either way. At Forum Tebrau a RM20 hour is really RM21.20, and at X Park a RM70 hour is really RM74.20.
What four players pay for two hours on a weekday at 8pm
Using each venue's standard court and the rate shown on 17 September:
- Forum Tebrau: RM70, or RM74.20 with SST (RM18.55 each)
- D Pickle Zone, outdoor court: RM80 (RM20 each)
- EduCity Sports Complex: RM90 (RM22.50 each)
- 55 Gatheround: RM100 (RM25 each)
- JuzDink: RM100 on its two-hour rate (RM25 each)
- D Pickle Zone, indoor open court: RM100 (RM25 each)
- ATP Club, Premium Court: RM120 (RM30 each)
- Pickle Friends: RM140 at the promo rate (RM35 each), RM156 at its normal rate
- X Park: RM140, or RM148.40 with SST (RM37.10 each)
Move the same game to a weekday morning and the gap narrows. Forum Tebrau is RM42.40 with SST, JuzDink RM58 for two hours before 6pm, 55 Gatheround RM60 from 9am, and ATP Club RM80.
Weekends are not always dearer
Two venues price weekend afternoons below weekday evenings. JuzDink charges RM58 an hour on weekend and public holiday mornings but RM38 from 2pm to 1am, the same as its cheapest weekday slot. ATP Club's Weekend Happy Hour puts Premium Courts at RM28 from 8am to 11am and 3pm to 6pm, less than its RM40 weekday daytime rate.
The same brand can also price the two cities differently. X Park's Iskandar Puteri courts cost RM70 all day on weekends. When we priced X Park at Sunway South Quay in Subang Jaya on 13 September, its weekend rate was RM50, lower than its own weekday evening.
Three more JB courts, checked on 20 September
When we re-read the eight rate cards on 20 September 2026, the same two booking platforms were listing three more Johor Bahru pickleball venues we had not priced. Two of them sit side by side on one street in Taman Gembira.
- KICKS - The Pickle Exchange, 6A Jalan Riang Utama, Taman Gembira, on AFA. A VIP Court costs RM45 an hour on weekdays from 9am to 5pm and RM60 from 5pm to 1am, with RM60 all day at weekends and on public holidays. A Tournament Court is RM50 and RM70 on the same split. Paddles rent at RM5 for a fibreglass one and RM8 for the T700 Carbon Pro.
- Gotta' Bounce Sports & Social Club, 6C Jalan Riang Utama, next door, also on AFA. Its "Hot Summer Promo" prices fully covered courts at RM35 an hour from 9am to 7pm on weekdays and public holidays, RM50 from 7pm to 10pm, and RM48 all day at weekends. A separate Night Owl Promotion charges RM25 an hour from 10pm to midnight, seven days a week — the cheapest late-evening hour we have found in JB. Bookings are final: no cancellation, no rescheduling and no refund under any circumstances.
- The Backyard Sports Centre @ Skudai, at Sutera Sports World, Jalan Persiaran Sutera Danga 1, Taman Sutera Utama, on Courtsite. Its canopy court is RM35 an hour on weekdays from 8am to 6pm, or RM60 for two hours, then RM55 from 6pm to midnight and RM55 all weekend. Its outdoor court is cheaper again: RM25 an hour from 10am to 6pm, or RM40 for two hours, seven days a week, with RM35 before 10am on weekdays, RM45 before 10am at weekends and RM45 after 6pm daily. Paddles and balls are RM5 each. SST is not stated.
That RM40 two-hour outdoor block at The Backyard undercuts every daytime rate in our original eight, including Forum Tebrau's RM42.40 with SST and JuzDink's RM58. The trade is that it is an open-air court on a sports-complex site in Skudai rather than a hall inside a mall. Both new promo labels are undated as well, which takes the running count of undated promo prices across these eleven JB venues to six.
How to pick
- For the lowest bill: Forum Tebrau on a weekday before 6pm, and remember to add SST. For two-hour games the cheapest block we found anywhere in JB is The Backyard's outdoor court at RM40 for two hours, ahead of Forum Tebrau's RM42.40 with SST and JuzDink's RM58.
- For a covered court in bad weather: ATP Club, Forum Tebrau, 55 Gatheround, JuzDink, Pickle Friends and D Pickle Zone's indoor courts are all under a full roof. X Park's courts are roofed but open-sided. D Pickle Zone's outdoor courts close in unsafe weather: under 30 minutes played can be rescheduled free, more than 30 minutes cannot.
- For heat: EduCity's cheapest slot is RM20 from noon to 5pm, and the photos on its listing show open-air courts.
- For late games: Forum Tebrau runs to 2am, ATP Club, X Park, EduCity, JuzDink and KICKS to 1am, and Pickle Friends stops at 11pm. The cheapest late hour is Gotta' Bounce's RM25 Night Owl slot from 10pm to midnight.
- For cancellations: D Pickle Zone and 55 Gatheround do not refund. Pickle Friends and JuzDink refund to the AFA wallet only for bookings made in the AFA app, 100% more than 48 hours out and 50% between 24 and 48 hours. Website bookings cannot be cancelled.
- For lessons: ATP Club is the only venue here that publishes coaching fees, from RM150 an hour for one player with a coach, court included, with a 1.5-hour minimum.
- For solo practice with a ball machine: 55 Gatheround rents a pickleball training machine on its own at RM20 an hour, every day from 8am to midnight. ATP Club instead adds a flat RM36 an hour to any court rate for a ball machine, or RM30 for a ball trolley, so a Premium Court with a machine is RM76 off-peak and RM64 in the weekend happy hour. JuzDink in Skudai also lists a ball machine, available daily from 8am to midnight, but its page gives no rate, so ask at the counter.
