> Quick view: two new campaigns landed on Sushi King's promotions index in September. App members get 100g of Australian Wagyu Yakiniku for RM10 instead of RM26.90, from 7 to 15 September 2026 — West Malaysia and Langkawi only, minimum RM50 spend, one per member for the entire campaign. Separately, the 4-Pax Yakiniku Value Pack comes with a free blind-box plushie until 30 September. And the RM14.90 and RM24.90 value-meal sets, switched off for the school break, are back from Monday 7 September for every state — not 6 September, because that Sunday is a weekend and weekends are excluded anyway.

RM10 Wagyu Yakiniku, 7 to 15 September — the offer with a clock on it

This is the sharpest single discount Sushi King is running this month, and it is open for nine days only: 7 to 15 September 2026.

  • What you get: a 100g portion of Australian Wagyu Yakiniku for RM10, against a normal price of RM26.90. That is RM16.90 off, or RM19.71 once the 10% service charge and 6% service tax are applied — RM11.66 instead of RM31.37.
  • What it costs you: a minimum spend of RM50 before service charge and tax, and that basket must include at least one Yakiniku set.
  • Where: participating West Malaysia and Langkawi restaurants only, excluding Sushi King Kiosks. East Malaysia is not in this one.
  • How: open the Sushi King app and flash your member QR code when you order — at ordering, not at payment.
  • The cap that catches people: one redemption per member for the whole campaign, and one per receipt per visit. This is not nine days of cheap wagyu; it is one plate.
  • Smile Points can be earned on the bill but cannot be redeemed against the promotional item.

Unlike almost everything else on this page, the wagyu campaign carries no weekday restriction — the nine days include Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September. That makes it the only Sushi King discount running right now that a weekend diner can actually use.

Wagyu at RM10 or 20% off? The break-even is RM57.60

The wagyu terms say it cannot be combined with other promotions, vouchers, coupons, discounts or ongoing offers — and Happy Hour is an ongoing offer. So on a weekday between 3pm and 6pm during those nine days you have to pick one route. The arithmetic settles it.

Call your food spend X — the Yakiniku set and everything else, before tax:

  • Wagyu route: X + RM10
  • Happy Hour route: 20% off the lot, wagyu at full price — 0.8 × (X + RM26.90)

Those two meet at X = RM57.60. Below that, take the RM10 wagyu. Above it, take Happy Hour, because 20% keeps scaling with the bill while the wagyu saving is fixed at RM16.90.

  • RM50 of food, the minimum: wagyu route RM60.00, or RM69.96 all-in. Happy Hour route RM61.52, or RM71.73. Wagyu wins by RM1.77.
  • RM80 of food, a table of three: wagyu route RM90.00, or RM104.94 all-in. Happy Hour route RM85.52, or RM99.72. Happy Hour wins by RM5.22.
  • On the weekend of 12-13 September, or outside 3pm-6pm: there is no Happy Hour to compare against, so the RM10 wagyu is the only discount on the table.

A free plushie with the 4-Pax Yakiniku Value Pack, 2 to 30 September

This one runs the whole month — 2 to 30 September 2026, dine-in, at participating West *and* East Malaysia restaurants, Kiosks excluded.

Order the 4-Pax Yakiniku Value Pack with exactly four qualifying protein options and you get one complimentary blind-box plushie, drawn at random from three characters: Sushi King, Roe Kata and Nisho Chan. Designs cannot be chosen, reserved, exchanged or refunded, and redemption is subject to stock. If you want a particular one, the plushies are also sold à la carte at RM24.90.

The eligible protein list is not the same in East and West Malaysia — this is the detail to check before you book a table:

  • West Malaysia: Beef Kalbi, Chicken, Lamb Shoulder, Salmon. The Beef Kalbi currently carries a free upgrade to premium Angus Beef, which Sushi King flags as limited availability.
  • East Malaysia: Beef Kalbi, Chicken, Salmon. No Lamb Shoulder — which means Sabah and Sarawak diners are picking four from a list of three, so at least one protein has to be doubled up.

Every set comes with refillable Japanese rice, fresh salad, wakame soup and spicy pickles. The wider grill line-up — Tiger Prawn, Unagi Kabayaki and 2-in-1 deluxe combos such as Beef Kalbi & Chicken or Wagyu & Beef Kalbi — sits outside the four qualifying picks.

One thing to ask at the counter. Between 7 and 15 September both campaigns are live at once, and a 4-Pax Value Pack plausibly satisfies the wagyu's "at least one Yakiniku set" condition. The plushie terms carry no exclusivity clause, but the wagyu terms do — they rule out combining with other ongoing offers. Sushi King has not addressed the overlap in writing, so confirm before ordering rather than assuming you walk out with both.

Happy Hour: the standing 20%, and the clock people get wrong

Members' App-clusive Happy Hour gives 20% off all items, every weekday from 3pm to 6pm. It has no published end date — it sits on the index as a standing offer rather than a dated campaign, which is what makes it the reliable one.

Sushi King's terms say both ordering and payment must be completed strictly between 3:00pm and 6:00pm. Being seated at 5.50pm is not enough; the bill has to be settled before six. The rest of the fine print:

  • Registered members only, and dine-in only
  • Weekdays, excluding public holidays — school holidays are *not* excluded here
  • Cannot be combined with in-app vouchers, physical coupons, Smile Points redemptions, or any other ongoing promotion, including Bonanza
  • You choose either the discount or a loyalty redemption per transaction, not both
  • Smile Points are not earned on a Happy Hour bill
  • Only Sushi King Cash Vouchers are accepted as voucher payment

The value-meal sets are back from Monday 7 September — both groups

Two standing set tiers run 1 January to 31 December 2026, dine-in, at all Sushi King restaurants except Sushi King Kiosk.

All-Day Value Meals — RM14.90 (East Malaysia RM15.90), each with a complimentary Shizuoka Cha:

  • Chicken Katsu Don Set
  • Tenpura Udon (S) & California Temaki Set
  • California Temaki, Chawanmushi & Takoyaki Set

From 15 June to 30 November 2026 the donburi list widens to include a Piri Piri Chicken Don Set, an Ebi Ten Don Set, and a Spicy Chicken Katsu Don (S) with Chawanmushi set.

More to Satisfy — RM24.90 (East Malaysia RM25.90), each with a free Iced Shizuoka Cha:

  • Yakiniku + Golden Ball Set
  • Chicken Katsu Don + Ebi Ten Set
  • Saba Teriyaki Set
  • Spicy Gyu Ramen + Chawanmushi Set
  • Chicken Katsu Curry + Ebi Ten Set

With the 10% and 6% applied, RM14.90 becomes RM17.37 and RM24.90 becomes RM29.03. In East Malaysia the same sets land at RM18.54 and RM30.20.

Both pages carry the same exclusion: not valid on weekends, public holidays and school holidays. Under the Ministry of Education's 2026 academic calendar, Cuti Penggal 2 ran 28 August to 5 September for Group A — Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu — and 29 August to 6 September for Group B, which is every other state, Johor now included.

Here is the correction worth having. 6 September 2026 is a Sunday. Group A schools reopen that day, but the sets are excluded on weekends regardless, so the first day you can actually buy an RM14.90 set anywhere in Malaysia is Monday 7 September 2026. The one-day head start Group A appears to get on paper does not exist in practice.

The same trap sits at the other end of the year. The year-end break starts 4 December for Group A (a Friday) and 5 December for Group B (a Saturday) and runs to 31 December. So the last value-meal day of 2026 is Thursday 3 December in Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu, and Friday 4 December everywhere else.

One honest caveat: Sushi King's terms say "school holidays" without naming a group, and outlets sit in specific states. The sensible reading is your outlet's local group calendar, but the brand does not spell it out — so confirm at the counter.

Wednesday 16 September: the day almost everything switches off

Malaysia Day falls on Wednesday 16 September 2026, a nationwide public holiday. Neither Sushi King's promotions index nor its campaign pages flag it, but the terms do the work for you:

  • Happy Hour — off. Its terms exclude public holidays.
  • All-Day Value Meals and More to Satisfy — off. Their terms exclude public holidays.
  • The plushie promotion — on. Its published terms restrict it to dine-in and exclude Kiosks, but say nothing about public holidays.
  • The RM10 wagyu — already finished. That campaign closes on 15 September, the day before.

If you were planning a Malaysia Day lunch around a discount, move it to Tuesday the 15th or Thursday the 17th.

Smile Stamps, and the six outlets where the top reward changes

The stamp programme was rebuilt around a 12-month collection window. Spend a minimum of RM60 on a single receipt to earn one stamp, and every two stamps unlock a bigger reward: 2 stamps a free Chicken Katsu Don, 4 stamps a free Grand Mixed Bento, 6 stamps a free Jo Unagi Don. Once issued, a reward must be redeemed within 30 days.

The full ladder is RM360 of qualifying spend across a year for three free meals — and rewards are not valid with any other discount or promotion, so a free-meal voucher cannot be redeemed on a Happy Hour bill.

Worth knowing if one of these is your branch: the third reward, the Jo Unagi Don, is substituted with a Wagyu Yakiniku Don at Bukit Gambir, Desaru Utama, Muar Jalan Pesta, Alor Star Mall, Jitra Cmart and Ampang Point.

What has ended

  • Midday Sushi Mania, RM3.99 a kaiten plate, ran 3 to 14 August 2026 and is gone. That RM3.99 was a pre-tax figure — a plate really cost RM4.65.
  • Japanese Curry season ran 8 June to 31 August 2026 and has now dropped off the index too.

The way to prove any of this is the index itself. Sushi King retires a campaign by removing it from `sushi-king.com/promotions/`, so a campaign page that still loads but is no longer listed is a dead campaign. Read on 5 September 2026, the index carries eight entries: the plushie promotion, the RM10 wagyu, Yakiniku, Smile Stamp, Home Meal, More to Satisfy, All-Day Value Meals and Happy Hour.

Who this suits, and who should skip it

It suits you if you can reach a West Malaysia or Langkawi outlet between 7 and 15 September and want one genuinely cheap plate of wagyu; if you are feeding four and the Yakiniku Value Pack was already the plan, since the plushie costs nothing extra; if you are a member who can eat between 3pm and 6pm on a weekday; or if you were going to spend over RM60 anyway and want the stamp.

Skip it if you are in Sabah or Sarawak and came for the wagyu, because East Malaysia is excluded; if you were hoping to collect plushies, since it is one random character per Value Pack; if you eat mainly on weekends or public holidays, because only the plushie promotion survives those; if your nearest branch is a Sushi King Kiosk, which is excluded from every offer here; or if you are not a member, since the wagyu, Happy Hour and the stamps are all gated behind free registration.

Before you go

Join the Fan Club first — it is free, and membership is the gate on the discounts rather than a nice-to-have. Then check Sushi King's promotions page for the current list, since that index is what tells you a campaign is genuinely live, and its Facebook page for outlet-level notices.
