> Quick view: Sushi King's Midday Sushi Mania, where every kaiten plate cost RM3.99 at lunch, is not running in October 2026. Its last edition ended on 14 August, it is no longer on the official promotions page, and its old campaign page now returns a 404. For lunch today, the cheapest option is an RM14.90 All-Day Value Meal on a weekday. If you can eat at 3pm instead, the members' Happy Hour takes 20% off and brings a red plate to RM4, almost exactly the old RM3.99.
What Midday Sushi Mania was
Midday Sushi Mania was a short lunch-hour campaign for Sushi King members. Every plate on the kaiten (conveyor belt) cost RM3.99 before the 10% service charge and 6% service tax, which is about RM4.65 a plate after charges. It ran from 11am to 2pm. You had to order by 1:45pm, each sitting was capped at 45 minutes, and one member could bring up to three non-members. It was dine-in only at West Malaysia restaurants. Langkawi and the Sushi King Kiosk counters were excluded, and leftovers were charged at the normal price.
It ran twice in 2026. The first edition was 13 to 17 July, and the second was 3 to 14 August. It was not repeated in September, when the payday promotion was five red plates for RM17.99 instead.
Will it come back? Sushi King has not announced another edition. On 9 October 2026 its promotions index listed just six entries: Happy Hour, All-Day Value Meals, More to Satisfy, Smile Stamps, Home Meal by Sushi King, and a menu page called Japanese Food Variety. Its Instagram posts from 2 to 8 October cover new Grab & Go kiosks and the RM24.90 sets, with no RM3.99 lunch. If it returns, it will appear on the promotions page first. Treat any RM3.99 post you see elsewhere as unconfirmed until it does.
The cheapest weekday lunch at Sushi King now
- All-Day Value Meals, RM14.90 (East Malaysia RM15.90). Each comes with a free Shizuoka Cha. The sets are Chicken Katsu Don; Tenpura Udon (S) with California Temaki; and California Temaki, Chawanmushi and Takoyaki. There are also three donburi sets: Piri Piri Chicken Don, Ebi Ten Don, and Spicy Chicken Katsu Don (S) with Chawanmushi. They are valid on weekdays only, dine-in, and not at Kiosks. Value meal terms.
- More to Satisfy, RM24.90 (East Malaysia RM25.90). These come with a free Iced Shizuoka Cha. The sets are Yakiniku with Golden Ball, Chicken Katsu Don with Ebi Ten, Saba Teriyaki, Spicy Gyu Ramen with Chawanmushi, and Chicken Katsu Curry with Ebi Ten. The same weekday and dine-in rules apply.
- Plates at full price. A red plate is RM5 before charges. There is no lunchtime discount on the belt any more.
Both set tiers exclude weekends, public holidays and school holidays. October 2026 has none of the last two, so all 22 weekdays in the month qualify (school holiday dates).
What lunch costs now, compared with the RM3.99 days
The figures below add the 10% service charge and 6% service tax (×1.166). The value-meal banner says its price "includes all applicable charges", so expect RM14.90 nett, or about RM17.37 if your outlet adds charges.
- One person, four red plates at 12pm: RM20, which is about RM23.32. Under Midday Sushi Mania it was RM15.96, about RM18.61.
- One person, a value meal at 12pm: RM14.90 nett. This is now the cheapest lunch, and cheaper than the old four-plate RM3.99 lunch.
- Two people, eight red plates at 12pm: RM40, about RM46.64. Under Midday Sushi Mania it was about RM37.22.
- Two people, the same eight plates at 3pm with Happy Hour: RM32, about RM37.31. That is 9 sen more than the old RM3.99 price.
So on red plates, a late lunch at Happy Hour nearly matches Midday Sushi Mania. What you lose is the pricier plates, which the old campaign also cut to RM3.99. Happy Hour runs Monday to Friday from 3pm to 6pm. It is for registered app members, dine-in only, and not at Kiosks. You have to order and pay between 3pm and 6pm, and you can't combine it with a value meal. Happy Hour terms.
New this month: Grab & Go kiosks with opening deals
Sushi King is opening small Grab & Go kiosks that sell packed sushi to take away. Its store list showed 10 kiosks on 9 October, and the newest is Seremban Gateway, which opened on 6 October. The Target Kluang kiosk opens on 9 October. Sushi King's Instagram post of 8 October lists two opening deals there on 9 and 10 October: 20% off all items and a free RM5 voucher for the first 50 customers each day. A Terengganu kiosk is teased but not yet named.
Kiosks are the quickest lunch, but almost none of the standing promotions work there. Happy Hour, the value meals and Smile Stamps all exclude Kiosks. For a set lunch, use a full restaurant (store locator).
Weekends and families
Weekend diners get no lunch discount. Smile Stamps are the only standing perk: you get one stamp for every RM60 on a single receipt, before charges. 2 stamps unlock a free Chicken Katsu Don, 4 a Grand Mixed Bento and 6 a Jo Unagi Don. Stamps last 12 months.
For children, the Kids Sushi Making Class runs on Saturday 10 October 2026 at 10 outlets. It starts at 9am at Meridian Central and 10am at Paradigm Mall JB, Kluang Mall, Sungai Besar, Subang Parade, AEON Nilai, AEON Ampang Utara 2, Port Dickson, Kota Warisan and AEON Bandaraya Melaka. It is for ages 4 to 12 and costs RM31.80 for members or RM37.10 for non-members, including service tax. The quarterly open classes are on Sundays 11 October, 8 November and 13 December 2026, at stores in the Klang Valley (such as Sunway Velocity, Evo Bangi and IOI City Mall), the south (AEON Bukit Indah) and the north (such as Kangar, Aman Central and AEON Bukit Mertajam). How to pick
- Weekday lunch, eating alone: take an RM14.90 value meal.
- Lunch with plates, and you can wait until 3pm: use Happy Hour. Red plates come to RM4 before charges.
- In Kluang on 9 or 10 October: try the new kiosk for 20% off, and get there early for the RM5 voucher.
- Weekend family meal: collect Smile Stamps, or book the kids' class.
- Waiting for RM3.99: check the promotions page every week or two. The 2026 editions started on 13 July and 3 August, with no fixed pattern.
