Aircond servicing is one of the hardest things to price-check in Kuching. Most firms here take bookings on WhatsApp and Facebook, and plenty of the prices you'll find are in community group posts that vanish within days. On 3 November 2026 we went through operators' own websites and Facebook pages, then Facebook group posts by the operators themselves, and threw out directory pages and estimate sites.
Only three firms print rates on their own website, and one more on its own Facebook page. We list those first, then one firm with a fresh group-post price, and one established company that quotes only on request. Dates are stated, because some of these numbers are old.
What the words mean
The trouble with comparing Kuching prices is that the same word covers different jobs.
- Basic or normal service: usually filters and a surface clean of the indoor unit.
- General or chemical service: a canvas bag goes around the indoor unit and the coil and blower are washed in place, sometimes with chemical. AZH's post describes it as "Chemical Cleaning (Canvas Cleaning)".
- Overhaul: the unit comes down or is fully dismantled and washed. AZH's wording is "cabut semua".
- Steam clean: SP uses high-pressure steam and sells it as chemical-free, so its RM125 isn't the same job as a chemical wash. Ask how much gets dismantled.
Before you agree a price, ask which parts come off the wall, and whether the outdoor unit is included.
Gas is where the bill moves
We found no firm in Kuching that publishes a price per R32 or R410A. What they publish is an allowance: AZH includes up to 10psi if needed, and I-Plex says up to 20psi free. A Smartcool Service post in June 2026 offered an overhaul from RM150 with 20psi free. Past the allowance, AZH's March 2025 post gave RM100 to RM200, and one operator's July 2026 group post said top-ups start from RM20. That's a wide band, so ask for the psi reading and the price before anyone connects a cylinder. A unit that keeps needing gas may have a leak, so ask whether the leak will be checked.
What about transport?
Almost nobody states this. The only distance charge we found published in Kuching is one operator's July 2026 group post: first 5km free, then RM2 per km. SP asks you to confirm your area. ALEP lists Batu Kawa, Matang, Demak, Sejingkat, Bako, Padawan, Bau and Samarahan, and AZH lists Kuching, Samarahan, Padawan and Bau. If you're out in Bau, Serian or Lundu, ask about this up front, and also whether there's a minimum number of units.
How Kuching compares
For scale, our Penang check on a full clean of one small wall unit ran from RM99 to RM250, and we also keep Johor Bahru and KL and Klang Valley lists. Kuching's published prices sit at the lower end of that range, but very little here carries a brand-backed rate card, so warranty and follow-up depend on the firm you pick.
How to pick
- For one or two units with a routine clean: compare Cleanwork's general tier, I-Plex and AZH, but get the Cleanwork "from" price confirmed for your HP first.
- For three or more units: SP's RM110 a unit is a clear published rate that doesn't change between 1HP and 3HP.
- For a smelly or dripping unit that hasn't been touched for years: price an overhaul, not a normal service. ALEP's RM150 and RM180 are the plainest published rates.
- For a cassette unit: SP publishes RM250 to RM320 a unit, and few others in Kuching print a cassette rate at all.
- For a company with an office you can visit: J Cool Concepts or Cleanwork. Both give a physical address in Kuching.
- For a new install: Cleanwork's install table starts at RM220 for a wall unit. Check what the copper allowance includes, because its wording is unclear.
Warranty is a useful tie-breaker. SP's 60 days covers service-related faults only, and 30 days is the norm elsewhere. Ask for it on the receipt. Check any website before paying too: one Kuching aircond firm's stored domain now serves gambling spam, so a link in an old listing isn't proof of anything.
No current dated promotions were on these operators' own channels when we checked. Prices below are as published, in ringgit, and may have changed, especially the ones we've flagged as undated or old.
