> Quick view: Al-Ikhsan Sports has twelve pieces of Malaysia Day artwork in circulation and eleven separate offers inside them, each with its own spend threshold at RM100, RM150, RM200, RM300 or RM600. Only one poster in the whole set prints a date, the Puma Running Fest at 1 to 30 September 2026, and everything else is undated. Two of the offers are described differently on Al-Ikhsan's own website than on its own posters, including the socks that come free with the adidas Adizero Evo SL. A separate online-only 9.9 drop was meant to open for orders on 9 September with a second ALX item at RM9; we checked on the morning of the 9th and the collection behind that banner still listed nothing at all. Read the item price against the threshold before you go, because several of the sale's most attractive shoes sit one to thirty ringgit under the line.

Eleven offers, not one sale

"Malaysia Day Mega Sale" is a wrapper, not a discount. Underneath it Al-Ikhsan is running eleven offers that share nothing except a footer, and each one is governed by its own brand, its own threshold and its own definition of "selected items". Here is the full set as the retailer's own artwork states it.

  • Free ALX socks with a running shoe. Socks worth RM19 with selected running shoes from RM100, socks worth RM29 with selected running shoes from RM300.
  • adidas Adizero Evo SL. Buy the shoe, get free socks worth RM59. The shoe is RM669 on al-ikhsan.com in all seven colourways currently listed.
  • Puma Running Fest, 1 to 30 September 2026. NITRO Collection up to 50% off on selected items.
  • ASICS Sonicblast at RM829 and Novablast 5 at RM599, each with a free ASICS Packable Bag worth RM139. The bag is tied to the Sonicblast or the Novablast 5 Ekiden Pack specifically.
  • ASICS free shoe bag worth RM99 with a purchase of RM600 and above on any selected items.
  • [ASICS marked down on the website](https://al-ikhsan.com/collections/asics-promotion-discount-up-to-60) by as much as 45% on shoes. Gel-Nimbus 27 Lite-Show is RM409 from RM749, GT-2000 13 Lite-Show is RM329 from RM599, DS Light Pro football boots are RM319 from RM579 and the Jolt 4 is RM139 from RM249.
  • Lotto Fest. Futsal shoes at RM99, down from RM119 or RM129 depending on the model, and a backpack at RM69 from RM109. Free futsal socks with any selected Lotto futsal shoe.
  • Diadora instant rebate of RM50 on a purchase of RM200 and above on selected Diadora items.
  • aseven A7 polo jerseys, two for RM99 on selected polos.
  • aseven A7 windbreakers, RM15 rebate on any selected windbreaker.
  • FAM and PUMA at Football Republic. Spend RM150 on FAM product and the FAM or MFL mini ball is free. This one is the only poster written mainly in Malay, and it offers Atome instalments of up to 12 months.

Standing alongside all of that, and not part of the Malaysia Day set, are the football fan jerseys that Al-Ikhsan has been selling at RM89 for juniors and from RM99 for men since at least early August. Twelve of them are listed today: Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal and Bayern Munich at RM99 for men, a Liverpool long-sleeve at RM129, and six junior shirts at RM89 including a Juventus that the banner's four club crests do not show.

As of 9 September that standing offer has been recut as a 9.9 banner of its own, third in the homepage carousel, with the artwork file itself named for 9.9. Nothing inside it has changed: same junior RM89, same men from RM99, same free drawstring bag on a minimum spend of RM100, same "free shipping" printed without the RM150 figure that actually applies. If it reads to you like a 9.9 doorbuster, it is the same price it has been since early August.

The one date in the entire campaign

We opened all twelve artworks and only the Puma poster prints one: 1 to 30 September 2026. Not the adidas socks, not the ASICS bags, not the Lotto or Diadora or aseven offers, and not the socks tiers that most shoppers will actually reach. Every one of those carries the same footer instead: exclusions apply, while stocks last, terms and conditions apply, not applicable with other promotions.

That matters more than it sounds. Malaysia Day falls on Wednesday 16 September, and a campaign named after it could reasonably close that week. Al-Ikhsan has not said so anywhere we can find, so the only end date any of this can be pinned to is the Puma one. Treat 30 September as the outside limit of the campaign and the stock level in your own size as the real deadline.

Where Al-Ikhsan's website and Al-Ikhsan's posters disagree

Three of the offers read differently depending on which of the retailer's own surfaces you are looking at, and in one case the freebie itself changes brand.

The free-socks tiers are the clearest. The banner on al-ikhsan.com, headlined "Find Your Pace. Chase Your Best.", shows three tiers: ALX and Diadora shoes from RM100 for socks worth RM19, Puma and Nike shoes from RM300 for socks worth RM29, and the adidas Adizero Evo SL for socks worth RM59. The in-store poster shows only two tiers, and both brand lists are wider. The RM100 tier there covers ALX, aseven, Lotto, Diadora and umbro. The RM300 tier covers adidas, Nike, ASICS, New Balance, Skechers and Brooks. Puma is not on either poster tier, though the website puts it in the RM300 one, and the poster has no RM59 tier at all.

The RM59 socks are the second disagreement. The website banner calls them ALX socks. The adidas poster for the same shoe, the Adizero Evo SL, calls them adidas socks and pictures a three-stripe pair. Same shoe, same offer, two different products. If you are buying the Evo SL partly for the socks, ask at the counter which pair is actually in the box.

The third is the ASICS discount depth, where Al-Ikhsan's own site gives three different numbers for one promotion. The collection's web address ends in "discount-up-to-60". The page title on that same collection says "Discount up to 50 %". The deepest cut we could find among its 18 items is 56%, on a sports hijab reduced from RM89 to RM39, and the deepest on a shoe is 45%. Five of the 18 items are not discounted at all, including all four colourways of the Novablast 6 at RM599 and the Jolt 5 at RM249.

The thresholds are the whole game

Read as printed, the socks tiers key off the shoe's own price rather than your basket total: "with purchase of selected running shoes RM100 and above". That reading turns several of the sale's better shoes into near misses.

  • The Puma Velocity Nitro 3 is RM299, one ringgit under the RM300 tier. It is also showing no online discount at all, listed at RM299 against a reference price of RM299, so a shopper who went in for the Running Fest's "up to 50% off" gets neither the cut nor the socks.
  • The Puma Electrify Nitro 4 for women is the genuine NITRO bargain online at RM269 from RM439, a 39% cut worth RM170. At RM269 it is RM31 short of the socks tier.
  • The Puma ForeverRun NITRO 2 for women is RM349 against a reference price of RM689, a 49% cut worth RM340, and it clears the RM300 line comfortably. Checked again on 9 September, it is the only NITRO shoe inside the free-socks collection, which makes it the one shoe in the whole campaign that takes a deep Puma markdown and earns the RM29 socks in the same transaction. If you came for the Running Fest, this is the shoe the banner is actually describing.
  • None of the 23 Nike shoes in the free-socks collection is discounted. Every one of them, from the RM255 Downshifter 13 to the RM789 Zoom Fly 6, lists at its own reference price. Nike's place in the RM300 tier buys you socks and nothing else. Only three of the collection's ten Puma shoes reach RM300 at all: the ForeverRun NITRO 2 at RM349, the Darter Pro at RM379 and the Pulse Pro at RM389, and the last two are undiscounted too.
  • The ASICS Gel-Nimbus 27 Lite-Show at RM409 from RM749 saves RM340 and clears the RM300 socks tier. It is still RM191 short of the RM600 shoe-bag threshold. It ties the ForeverRun NITRO 2 for the largest single saving in the campaign at RM340 each, but off a higher price, so it is 45% where the Puma is 49% and it costs RM60 more.
  • Every ALX, AL and Diadora shoe in the free-socks collection is RM114.50 or more, so all 32 of them clear the RM100 line. The cheapest is an ALX women's running shoe at RM114.50 from RM229.

The collection page is wider than the rules it sits under, which is the thing worth knowing before you shop it. It holds 89 shoes. Eleven of the 33 Nike and Puma pairs are priced under RM300, at RM219 to RM259, so they do not reach their own tier. Of the 24 adidas pairs, only the seven Adizero Evo SL are named on any poster, and the other 17 run from RM159 to RM999 with no stated tier. Being in the free-socks collection is not the same as qualifying for free socks.

Worked examples

A father buying two football shirts. One men's Liverpool fan jersey at RM99 and one junior at RM89 comes to RM188. That clears the RM100 minimum for the free drawstring bag and the RM150 the cart needs for free shipping. Buy the men's shirt alone at RM99 and you get neither: you are RM1 short of the bag and RM51 short of free delivery. Adding a RM19 AL Tupi sock pack takes you to RM118, which unlocks the bag but still leaves you paying postage.

A runner who wants the ASICS deal and the bag. One Gel-Nimbus 27 Lite-Show at RM409 does not reach RM600. Add the GT-2000 13 Lite-Show at RM329 and the basket is RM738, which clears the shoe-bag threshold and saves RM610 against the two reference prices of RM749 and RM599. Both posters say not applicable with other promotions, so do not expect the RM99 shoe bag and the RM139 packable bag together.

A five-a-side player. Lotto futsal shoes at RM99 save RM20 to RM30 depending on the model, and the free futsal socks come with any selected pair rather than at a threshold, which makes this the least conditional offer in the set. Add the RM69 Lotto backpack, down from RM109, and you are at RM168 with free shipping.

Two Diadora pairs. A single Diadora Hylo Running at RM169 is RM31 short of the RM200 rebate. Two pairs at RM338 trigger the RM50 off, which works out to 14.8% on the basket rather than the headline figure it looks like on the poster.

The 35 stores on the poster, out of more than 180

Al-Ikhsan's About page describes the business as having over 180 stores throughout Peninsular Malaysia, grown from a single 150 square foot shop in Holiday Plaza, Johor Bahru in 1993. The participating-outlet poster attached to the adidas offer names 35: five in KL and Putrajaya, six in Selangor, seven in Johor, three each in Perak and Kedah, two each in Penang, Pahang, Terengganu and Kelantan, and one each in Melaka, Negeri Sembilan and Perlis.

Read that list as belonging to the adidas offer it is printed with, not to the whole campaign, since none of the other posters carries one. But it is still the only outlet list Al-Ikhsan published for this sale, and if your branch is not on it the safe move is to call before driving. There is no Sabah or Sarawak entry, and the chain does not trade in East Malaysia, so readers there are shopping al-ikhsan.com and paying delivery unless the basket reaches RM150.

The 9.9 online drop is a separate thing

The banner currently on Al-Ikhsan's homepage is not the Malaysia Day sale. It is an online exclusive "Super Crazy Deal" for 9.9, with prices from RM25, a second selected ALX brand jersey or T-Bottom at RM9, and the Selangor FC home and away shirts as the headline arrival. The artwork says "start ordering on 9.9". We first looked on the evening of 8 September and found the collection behind it empty, which read then like a midnight open.

It was not. We checked again on the morning of Tuesday 9 September, the day the drop was supposed to open. The hero slide is still the same "start ordering on 9.9" artwork, it still links to al-ikhsan.com/collections/9-9-crazy-deal, and that collection still returns zero products. The page loads its header text, "9.9 CRAZY DEAL, as low as RM 25, second item RM 9, Selangor new arrival", above an empty grid. We looked again later the same day and it was unchanged. So there is a live banner for a drop you cannot browse.

The "new arrival" is three weeks old. The two shirts on the banner are on the site and buyable, but they are not new and they were not waiting for 9.9. The adidas Selangor 26/27 home men's replica in red (KM8808) and the away in white (KM8811) are RM199 each and went on sale on 20 and 24 August respectively. The grey ALX State Selangor men's jersey and its white sibling are RM59 each and went up on 29 August. None of the four carries a reference price, so none of them is discounted for 9.9.

RM25 is not a new floor either. The banner's "as low as RM25" is already the shelf price of the AL Football Passion Junior's Jersey in navy (HA03028320), which sits in the AL brand collection at RM25 and adds to the cart at RM25 with no discount attached. Al-Ikhsan's cheapest AL or ALX apparel elsewhere on the site runs a RM28 short-sleeve top reduced from RM69 and RM29 ALX shorts, so RM25 lands in the middle of the range the site was already selling at.

The RM9 second item still has no published rule. The RM9 is a flat price, not a percentage, so the arithmetic rewards putting the dearer of your two ALX pieces in as the second item if the cart lets you choose. Al-Ikhsan has not published which of the two gets discounted, and most retailers apply it to the cheaper one. With the collection empty we could not get the mechanic to fire in a cart, so there is still nothing to check it against. Read the cart total before paying.

The live sessions were real, then pulled. The earlier version of the 9.9 artwork lists two live-selling windows: Shopee, on the "Al-ikhsan Sports Official" store, from 12pm to 6pm, and TikTok, on @alikhsansportofficial, from 6pm to midnight. The file now serving on the homepage is a recut with that whole block removed, and its mobile filename ends in "no_live". Treat the live sessions as planned rather than confirmed.

One more sign that nobody is minding the calendar here: on 9 September the homepage carousel was still running a Merdeka banner in its fourth slot, nine days after Merdeka. In a campaign where only one poster out of twelve carries a date, that is worth knowing before you take any of the artwork as a statement about timing.

Who this is good for, and who should skip it

Worth a trip if you are buying a running shoe from ALX, aseven, Lotto, Diadora or umbro, because anything from RM100 clears the socks tier and the ALX shoes start at RM114.50. Worth it if you want ASICS, where the markdowns are broadest: RM340 off a Gel-Nimbus 27 Lite-Show and RM270 off a GT-2000 13 Lite-Show, with an identical 45% holding across five different shoes rather than resting on one. Worth it for football families, where RM89 junior shirts and RM99 Lotto futsal shoes are the least conditional prices in the set.

Worth it, too, for one specific Puma: the women's ForeverRun NITRO 2 at RM349 from RM689 is a 49% cut and the only NITRO that also clears the RM300 socks tier, which is the closest the Running Fest's "up to 50% off" comes to being literally true.

Skip it if you came for Puma NITRO expecting half off across the range, because outside that one shoe the promise thins out fast: 39% on the Electrify Nitro 4 and nothing at all on the Velocity Nitro 3 or the Deviate Nitro 3. Skip the RM300 tier as a discount hunt if you are a Nike buyer, because not one Nike shoe in the free-socks collection is marked down and the socks are the entire offer. Skip it if you were hoping to stack, since every poster rules that out. And skip the drive entirely if your outlet is not among the 35 named, at least until you have phoned to confirm the offer is running there.

The fine print that trips people up

  • The same footer sits on all twelve artworks: exclusions apply, while stocks last, terms and conditions apply, image is for illustration purposes and actual product may vary, and not applicable with other promotions. That last clause is the one that costs money, because it rules out combining a rebate with a freebie or two freebies with each other.
  • "Selected items" is never defined. No poster and no page lists which products qualify for the rebates or the polo pricing, so a shelf tag or a till receipt is the only proof.
  • The cart's free-shipping line is RM150, and it is separate from every promotion above. The fan jersey banner says "free shipping" with no figure next to it, which is easy to read as unconditional.
  • The site's own PROMOTION menu link goes to an empty collection. As of 8 September it returned no products at all, so the campaign is only findable through the homepage banners or by knowing the collection names. If you cannot see the sale on the website, that is why.
  • A price on a poster is not always a price on the site. The ASICS poster prices the Novablast 5 at RM599; the website's ASICS promotion collection lists the Novablast 6 at RM599 with no discount attached. Different generation, same number.

The one-line version

Al-Ikhsan has put eleven offers under one Malaysia Day banner, printed a date on only one of them, and left its website and its posters disagreeing about which brands and which socks qualify. The 9.9 drop it advertised for 9 September had not opened by that morning, and the "new arrival" it leads on has been on sale since August. Check the item's own price against the threshold, and check it at the till.
