> Quick view: Burger King Imago's reopening Buy 1 Free 1 Whopper ended on 11 September 2026, and nothing specific to that outlet has replaced it. We re-read every Burger King Malaysia offer on Friday 2 October and sorted them by one question: does it work at a Sabah counter? Four things do. The Kongsi Bundle is RM32.90 for two or RM52.90 for three to four at East Malaysia prices. The new KITKAT Series comes with a free KITKAT bar, and buying it with a set meal enters you in a 1–31 October contest. The Dragon Ball Super King Jr. Meal starts at RM15.50 while figurines last. And the 2pm–6pm Mid Day Snacking Deals run daily. Burger King's own fine print rules out the 15 September–15 November digital coupons and the RM9.90 Value Combo in Sabah.

How the Imago reopening ended

Burger King Imago is in the basement of Imago Shopping Mall at KK Times Square. It reopened after a refit on Friday 28 August 2026, under Burger King artwork headed ARAMAITI BK IMAGO. The artwork promised a free burger for the first 100 customers at 11am, a Lion Dance and Magunatip performance, prizes on the day, and a Buy 1 Free 1 Whopper from 28 August to 11 September. The one-for-one ended on the 11th without an extension. Since then Burger King has published nothing specific to Imago, on its website or on its Facebook wall.

The shop is trading normally. Re-read on 2 October, Burger King's restaurant locator still lists it at Lot No. B-04 and B-05, Basement Floor, Imago Shopping Mall, KK Times Square Phase 2, Off Coastal Highway, 88100 Kota Kinabalu, open 8am to 10pm. Google Maps has long shown a 10am opening, so for a breakfast visit, assume 10am until the counter tells you otherwise.

What the opening deal was worth. Burger King prints the normal price of two Real Whoppers as RM32.40 (RM16.20 each) in the Peninsula. Its IOI Mall Damansara opening a week later used the same template and printed two Whoppers for RM16.20, so a Burger King opening one-for-one costs the price of a single Whopper. Listing sites quoted RM18.90 for the Imago pair, which fits the RM2–RM3 East Malaysia premium Burger King charges on everything it prices separately. Burger King never printed an Imago price itself.

What works at a Sabah Burger King in October

Kongsi Bundle: the one Burger King confirms is everywhere

The Kongsi Bundle is Burger King's standing sharing menu. Its offer page, re-read on 2 October, still prints two prices for each set, and Sabah pays the second:

  • Kongsi A (2 pax): Cheeseburger, Single BBQ Beefacon, Medium Fries, 6-piece Nuggets with BBQ sauce, 2 Medium Soft Drinks. RM32.90 in East Malaysia, RM29.90 in West Malaysia.
  • Kongsi B (2 pax): Spicy Tendercrisp, BK Chick'N Crisp, Medium Onion Rings, Cheesy Fries, 2 Medium Soft Drinks. RM32.90, RM29.90 in the West.
  • Kongsi C (3–4 pax): Mushroom Swiss Single, Long Cheesy Onion Beef, Long Chicken, BK Chick'N Crisp, Medium Onion Rings, Large Fries, Cheesy Fries, 4 Medium Soft Drinks. RM52.90, RM49.90 in the West.
  • Kongsi D (3–4 pax): Spicy Tendercrisp, BK Fish'N Crisp, 2 BK Chick'N Crisp, Large Fries, 6-piece Nuggets with BBQ sauce, 2 Soft Serve Cones, 4 Medium Soft Drinks. RM52.90, RM49.90 in the West.

All prices include 6% Service Tax, and the only printed exclusion is airport outlets. In September, asked in the Facebook comments where to get it, Burger King replied *Ada di semua outlet* (it's at every outlet). The homepage banner prints only the West Malaysia figures (RM29.90 and RM49.90), so expect the counter in Kota Kinabalu to charge RM3 more than the poster behind it.

KITKAT Series and the October racing-car contest

Burger King launched a KITKAT Series on 30 September, *available at all Burger King outlets nationwide, while stocks last*. Sabah is included. There are three items: a KITKAT Iced Chocolate, a KITKAT Hot Chocolate and a Sundae "Made with KITKAT". Each comes with a free KITKAT chocolate, while stocks last. Burger King has not published a price for any of the three, in either half of the country.

On top of that runs a contest, announced on Burger King's Facebook page for 1 to 31 October 2026. Buy any BK Set Meal and add or upgrade to a KITKAT Series item, and you can win one of five RM999 racing-car building sets each week. Another 20 winners a week get RM100 Burger King vouchers, and a new car design is revealed weekly. The post sends readers to Burger King's website "for more details", but on 2 October the site had no contest page, and a customer under the post was asking where to upload the receipt. Keep the receipt. Don't assume an East Malaysian entry counts until Burger King publishes the rules.

Dragon Ball Super King Jr. Meal: still on, at RM2 more

The Toei Animation collaboration started on 7 September, and the Dragon Ball banner is still on Burger King's homepage on 2 October: *One per King Jr. Meal. While supplies last.* There are three versions, 4-piece Nuggets, Chick'N Crisp or a Cheeseburger, each with Fries and a Minute Maid. Each comes with a themed crown and one of six figurines: Goku, Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Goku, Vegeta, Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Vegeta, Piccolo and Beerus. Burger King's press release prices it from RM13.50 in Peninsular Malaysia and RM15.50 in East Malaysia. The release does not say whether you can choose a figurine, and after nearly four weeks some outlets will be down to the last designs. Ask before you pay.

The cosplay free burger (12–20 September) is over. It only ran at five themed Peninsular restaurants anyway.

Mid Day Snacking Deals, 2pm to 6pm

Burger King's homepage still runs the Mid Day Snacking Deals, *available from 2pm–6pm daily*. There are three combos: 6-piece Nuggets with a Fanta Grape, Large Onion Rings with a Fanta Grape, or Medium Fries with an Apple Pie. The August release states no regional limit, and the Imago reopening artwork showed the panel on the outlet's own kiosk screens. Burger King still publishes no price, in either half of the country.

What Sabah cannot use

The digital coupon book, CD01 to CD37. The current set runs 15 September to 15 November 2026 and has replaced August's YD codes. The fine print on Burger King's all-coupons PDF reads: *"Only valid in West Malaysia."* It also excludes Sunway Lagoon, Medini Mall, Johor Premium Outlets, Genting Highlands Premium Outlets, Mitsui Outlet Park, Langkawi and airport branches. The best-known tile, CD17, is two Real Whoppers for RM18.90 against RM32.40, but only in the Peninsula.

The RM9.90 Value Combo. A Whopper Jr. or BK Chick'N Crisp with Medium Fries and a Coke. The panel is still on Burger King's homepage on 2 October, and its fine print still reads "Valid in West Malaysia only".

The Drive-Thru VIP sundae, unconfirmed. In September, Burger King artwork gave a free Chocolate Sundae with a RM20 drive-thru spend to customers showing the VIP sticker. In Sabah that meant Papar, because the locator marks only BK Benoni DT (8am to midnight) and BK Papar Sabah DT (9am to 10pm) as drive-thrus. On 2 October we could not find the offer on Burger King's website or Facebook wall. It never printed an end date, so ask at the window before you count on it.

Late nights: does any KK outlet open till 2am?

Burger King's homepage advertises "Open Till 2 AM, Every Friday & Saturday" at selected outlets, but it does not say which. In Sabah, the locator gives no outlet past midnight. BK Damai, BK The Shore and BK Benoni DT in Papar trade until 12am. Most others close at 10pm or 11pm, and BK Inanam closes at 9.30pm. Unless an outlet tells you otherwise, a 2am Burger King run is a Peninsula thing.

Burger King in and around Kota Kinabalu

Re-read on 2 October, Burger King's locator still lists 188 restaurants nationwide and 16 in Sabah. Twelve have a Kota Kinabalu address: Damai, Imago, Inanam, Karamunsing, One Borneo, Pavilion Bundusan, Plaza Tanjung Aru, Putatan, Sierra Sabah, Suria Sabah Shopping Mall, The Shore and UUS. The other four are Plaza 333 in Penampang, Solaris in Tuaran and the two drive-thrus in Papar. Suria Sabah, a kilometre up the waterfront from Imago, runs 10am to 10pm. Google Maps also shows a Burger King airside at KKIA Terminal 1 that the locator does not list. Every offer on this page with printed terms excludes airport outlets anyway.

Who should bother, and who can skip

Worth it: groups and families. The Kongsi Bundle is the one Burger King offer confirmed at every Sabah outlet, and at RM52.90 for four it is the lowest per-head price among the East Malaysia prices Burger King publishes. Parents chasing a Dragon Ball figurine should go soon, because the campaign is "while supplies last" and close to a month old.

Worth it with a receipt: anyone ordering a set meal with a drink anyway. Upgrading to a KITKAT drink gets you the free bar and, once Burger King publishes the rules, a contest entry.

Skip: anyone hoping the Imago opening deal comes back, or that a Peninsular coupon will scan at a Kota Kinabalu counter. Burger King's fine print says it won't.

Three worked examples, at Sabah prices

Two people. A Kongsi A or B is RM32.90, or RM16.45 each. The same box is RM29.90 in Kuala Lumpur, so Sabah pays RM3 more for a two-person bundle.

Two adults and two children who want figurines. One Kongsi A or B at RM32.90 plus two Dragon Ball King Jr. Meals at RM15.50 each comes to RM63.90, with two of the six figurines in the bag.

A family of four. A Kongsi C or D is RM52.90, or RM13.23 a head. The Kongsi sets are bundles, not BK Set Meals, so whether one qualifies for the KITKAT contest is one more question for the counter.

Before you go

The Imago one-for-one is over and has not come back. In Sabah this month, the Kongsi Bundle is the dependable offer and the KITKAT Series is the new one. The Dragon Ball King Jr. Meal won't last much longer. The coupon book and the RM9.90 combo are Peninsular-only by Burger King's own fine print.
