> Quick view: The Pit Stop stopped taking bookings on 5 October 2026. Its stays (1-15 October) are still being honoured. The next package at Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast is Holiday Encore. You can book it from 1 October to 31 December 2026, but it only covers stays from 6 November 2026 to 10 January 2027. For 6 October to 5 November, there's no package at all, only room-only rates. Everything below comes from the hotel's offers pages and booking engine, and the Adventure Waterpark ticket site, all checked on 6 October 2026.

What happened to the September offers?

All of them have ended.

  • Summer Escape (25% off) closed on 31 August.
  • The MATTA Fair online deal (from RM699 nett) closed on 12 September.
  • The School Holiday Escape closed on 19 September, for stays to 30 September.
  • The Pit Stop closed on 5 October. It covered stays from 1 to 15 October, with a Rock Royalty upgrade on Deluxe bookings and RM80 F&B credit a night.

Only The Pit Stop is still on the offers index. Its page shows a Book Now button, but its own booking window has passed. If you booked it, your stay and its free-cancellation terms (until 4pm three days before arrival) stay as they were.

Holiday Encore: what you get

Holiday Encore is billed as Season 3. According to the offer page, every booking includes:

  • Up to 10% extra off for Unity™ by Hard Rock members
  • A limited-edition Hard Rock Holiday Pack, one per room per stay
  • Daily buffet breakfast at Sessions
  • A one-year annual pass to Adventure Waterpark Desaru Coast for each registered guest
  • Unlimited Roxity Kids Club™ access, subject to capacity
  • MYR100 F&B credit per room, per night, which builds up over your stay (three nights = RM300)
  • 20% off Rock Shop® and 15% off Rock Spa®
  • A one-time Desaru Fruit Farm Tour if you stay 3 or more consecutive nights

Booking period: 1 October-31 December 2026. Stay period: 6 November 2026-10 January 2027.

The F&B credit is worded differently in two places. The offers index just says "MYR100 Food & Beverage credit". The offer page says it is per room, per night and accumulative. The offer page is the fuller T&C, so we follow it, but check the rate description before you pay.

The catch: Holiday Encore can't be cancelled

This is the biggest change from The Pit Stop. Holiday Encore's terms say:

  • Minimum stay of two consecutive nights
  • Full prepayment when you book
  • Bookings are non-refundable, non-cancellable and cannot be amended. A no-show is charged the full stay.
  • Not valid for groups, conventions, tour packages or other promotional rates

The Pit Stop and the School Holiday Escape both let you cancel free until three days before arrival. Holiday Encore doesn't. Only book it once your dates are fixed: school calendars, leave approvals and the waterpark's Tuesday closures.

Who is covered

Breakfast, the waterpark annual pass and the fruit farm tour cover up to 2 adults in a King room, or up to 2 adults and 2 children in a Double room, Studio Suite or Studio Suite Gold. A family of four in a King room is not fully covered. Families should book a Double.

What the annual pass is worth

The waterpark sells the same Splash Pass on its own site. Prices checked on 6 October 2026:

  • One-day web ticket: MyKad RM95 per adult (12-59) and RM76 per child (3-11) or senior; non-MyKad RM145 and RM116
  • Splash Pass (annual): MyKad RM238 per adult and RM190 per child or senior; non-MyKad RM330 and RM264

For a Malaysian family of 2 adults and 2 children, four annual passes are worth RM856 at the park's own prices. One day of tickets for the same family costs RM342, so the passes pay off from your third visit in the year. For a non-MyKad family the numbers are RM1,188 for the passes against RM522 a day. Families from Singapore or Johor Bahru who return to Desaru gain the most. A one-off trip from KL gains the least.

When you buy the Splash Pass yourself, it must be redeemed within 3 months of purchase and comes with 10% off retail, 10% off cabana rental and flat RM8 parking. The hotel's terms don't say whether the packaged pass follows the same rules. Ask at check-in.

The Tuesday rule still applies. Adventure Waterpark is closed on Tuesdays except during Malaysian school holidays, Malaysian public holidays and Singapore school holidays. The Malaysian year-end school break is 5-31 December for Group B states, including Johor. That covers most of Holiday Encore's December stays, which makes it the easiest stretch to plan around.

Before 6 November: room-only rates

No package covers stays from 6 October to 5 November. On 6 October 2026 we searched the booking engine for 2 adults. Prices below are per night, room only, before taxes:

  • Wednesday 14 October: Superior King RM709, or RM673 for Unity members. Deluxe Double RM868, or RM824 for Unity members.
  • Wednesday 18-Friday 20 November (in the Holiday Encore window): Deluxe King RM788, or RM749 for Unity members. Superior Double RM805 for Unity members.
  • Friday 6-Sunday 8 November, the Deepavali weekend and Holiday Encore's first: only the Deluxe King was left. It costs RM1,122, or RM1,066 for Unity members, and RM1,158 with buffet breakfast.

The room-only rates come with free cancellation until 4pm three days before arrival. They don't include breakfast or waterpark tickets. Non-Malaysian guests also pay a RM10 Tourism Tax per room per night.

Unity members have one more option: Unity Advance Purchase, up to 25% off if you book at least 30 days ahead. It is non-refundable. Booked today, it can only be used for stays from about 5 November.

Our plain searches showed only room-only plans. Holiday Encore did not appear with a price. Check that the rate name on the confirmation screen says Holiday Encore before you pay. If it doesn't, call the hotel on +607-838 8888.

Also in October: Pickled Pink

Pickled Pink is a pickleball clinic run with Selkirk for Pinktober, held on the hotel's Woodstock Lawn (Level 1). It costs RM200 per person per session, and all proceeds go to the Pinktober charity fund. There are three 3-hour sessions:

  • Saturday 17 October, 8-11am
  • Saturday 17 October, 4-7pm
  • Sunday 18 October, 8-11am

Each session takes 12 players, 36 places in total. Every session you book gives you one lucky-draw entry for a Selkirk paddle worth up to RM800. This is an event, not a room deal: book the room separately at the rates above.

Which should you pick?

  • Family trip between mid-November and early January, with fixed dates: Holiday Encore, in a Double room. The breakfast, waterpark passes and RM100 nightly credit outweigh the room-only rate for anyone who'll use the park.
  • Plans that might change: a room-only rate with free cancellation. Add waterpark tickets later, bought at least 3 days ahead.
  • Couples who won't use the waterpark: compare the Unity member rate, or Advance Purchase 30+ days out, with Holiday Encore. The waterpark pass is most of the package's value.
  • October trips: room-only rates are your only choice. A Wednesday or Thursday is cheapest, but avoid Tuesday for the park.
