> Quick view: A'Famosa Resort's MATTA Fair 2026 pricing has ended on both of the resort's own channels. Re-read on 30 September 2026, the ticketing page no longer sells a single MATTA-labelled ticket, and the booking engine no longer quotes a MATTA Fair room plan on any date we tried. Here is what replaced them. Park tickets are now priced by age: Safari Wonderland is RM65 for adults and RM59 for children, senior citizens and OKU, and Water World is RM49 / RM39. The RM89 two-park combo is gone, and a single RM319 annual pass replaces the RM289/RM239 pair. On rooms, the Gemilang Gateaway plan now covers every condo and villa type bar one. It runs from RM189 for the Condo Family Studio, which is back on sale, to RM699 for the fenced-pool villa, at 40 to 54 percent under the resort's own public Staycation rate.

Status: the MATTA rates are over

The 59th National MATTA Fair closed at MITEC on 6 September 2026. The fair pricing did not end with it. On 7 September both of A'Famosa's own channels were still selling MATTA rates, and this page followed them past the fair. By 30 September both had changed:

  • The ticketing page at themepark.afamosa.com lists five ticket types. None carries the MATTA prefix, and none is at a MATTA price.
  • The booking engine at live.ipms247.com returns only two plan families, Gemilang Gateaway and the public Staycation rate. We read it for a Wednesday night in October 2026 and a Saturday night in March 2027, and the figures were identical.

Neither channel ever published an end date, and neither announced the change. So we can say only that it happened between 7 and 30 September, not on which day. The earlier poster's "stay by 31 March 2027" window no longer applies, because the MATTA plans it governed are no longer sold.

Park tickets now: the full card

Read on themepark.afamosa.com on 30 September 2026:

  • Safari Wonderland, adult: RM65
  • Safari Wonderland, child / senior citizen / OKU: RM59
  • Water World, adult: RM49
  • Water World, child / senior citizen / OKU: RM39
  • Annual Pass Kit, Safari + Water World, per pax: RM319

The conditions around the prices have not changed. The tickets are for Malaysians only and give express entry. Children under 90cm enter both parks free. Both parks open 10am to 6pm, Wednesday to Monday, and close on Tuesdays except on public and school holidays. Redemption runs 10am to 3.30pm, and the page says purchased tickets are valid until 1 April 2027. Next to the date picker, the page also says the entrance date you select is "non-changeable and non-refundable", so pick your day before you pay.

What the end of MATTA costs you, visitor by visitor

The MATTA card was one flat price per person with no child rate: RM89 for both parks, RM59 for Safari Wonderland, RM39 for Water World. Against today's card:

  • Adult, both parks: RM65 + RM49 = RM114, against RM89. That is RM25 more, or 28 percent.
  • Child, senior or OKU, both parks: RM59 + RM39 = RM98, against RM89. That is RM9 more.
  • Adult, Water World only: RM49 against RM39, RM10 more.
  • Adult, Safari Wonderland only: RM65 against RM59, RM6 more.
  • Child, senior or OKU, one park only: RM59 for Safari or RM39 for Water World, exactly the MATTA price.

So the end of the fair pricing mostly hits adults doing both parks. A senior, an OKU visitor or a child going to one park pays today what the MATTA card charged, and the card now has a concession tier it never had during the fair.

There is also no longer a combo discount. Both parks cost the same whether you buy them together or separately, so buy only the park you will actually use. Both parks share the same 10am to 3.30pm redemption window, so doing both properly means an early start.

The annual pass: one price, and it pays back sooner for adults

The new RM319 Annual Pass Kit covers unlimited Safari Wonderland and Water World for a year. It has no adult/child split. Against today's day tickets:

  • Adult doing both parks (RM114 a visit): two visits cost RM228. Three cost RM342, so the pass has saved RM23 by the third visit.
  • Child doing both parks (RM98 a visit): three visits cost RM294, still under the pass. Four cost RM392, so the child pass saves RM73 on the fourth visit.
  • Adult doing Water World only (RM49 a visit): the pass does not pay for itself until the seventh visit.

That reverses the advice from the MATTA period. Then, the RM239 child pass was the best line on the card and paid back on the third two-park visit, while the adult pass took four. Now an adult doing both parks gets there on the third visit and a child on the fourth. A family that does both parks three times a year should buy adult passes and day tickets for the children.

The resort's own Water World page on afamosa.com still carries a line reading "A'FAMOSA 2-PARK ANNUAL PASS RM69". That was still there on 30 September, and it is not linked to any purchase page. The checkout sells the pass at RM319. Treat RM319 as the real number.

Rooms: Gemilang Gateaway has taken over

We read the resort's own booking engine on 30 September 2026 for 21–22 October 2026 (a Wednesday) and 20–21 March 2027 (a Saturday), and every figure matched. These are one-night rates, which the engine says include tax. The public comparison is the resort's own non-refundable Staycation plan for the identical unit:

  • Condo Family Studio (up to 4 guests, 2 breakfasts): RM189 against RM355, saving RM166 (47%)
  • Apartment 2-Room (4 guests, 4 breakfasts): RM219 against RM395, saving RM176 (45%)
  • Condo 2-Room (6 guests, 4 breakfasts): RM239 against RM435, saving RM196 (45%)
  • Condo 3-Room (10 guests, 6 breakfasts): RM309 against RM535, saving RM226 (42%)
  • Villa Standard 4-Room with pool (12 guests, 8 breakfasts): RM499 against RM1,075, saving RM576 (54%)
  • Villa Superior 4-Room with pool (12 guests, 8 breakfasts): RM599 against RM1,285, saving RM686 (53%)
  • Villa 4-Room with Fenced Pool (12 guests, 8 breakfasts): RM699 against RM1,385, saving RM686 (50%)
  • Villa 2-Room Honeymoon Suite with jacuzzi (4 guests, 4 breakfasts): RM599 against RM995, saving RM396 (40%)
  • Villa 4-Room Service Suite (12 guests, 8 breakfasts): Staycation only at RM1,495, with no promotional plan

Against the MATTA rates last read on 7 September, the condos cost a little more. The Condo 2-Room is up RM30 (RM209 to RM239), the Apartment 2-Room is up RM30 (RM189 to RM219), and the Condo 3-Room is up RM10 (RM299 to RM309). The four villa prices on Gemilang have not moved since 7 September.

Three other things are new since the MATTA period:

  • The Condo Family Studio is back on sale. On 7 September it returned "Not Available" on every plan. It is now the cheapest unit on the estate at RM189 with two buffet breakfasts.
  • The villas now carry a public rate. The Villa Standard and Villa Superior had no Staycation plan published on 7 September. Now they do, at RM1,075 and RM1,285, which makes their discounts measurable for the first time: 54 and 53 percent, the largest on the estate.
  • The room-only villa rates are gone. MATTA sold the Villa Standard at RM349 and the Villa Superior at RM449 without breakfast. Every villa now comes with breakfast included, so the cheapest villa night is RM499.

Best value per head is still the Condo 3-Room. RM309 for up to ten guests with six buffet breakfasts is RM30.90 a head full, or RM38.63 at a realistic eight. The Villa Standard with a private pool works out at RM41.58 a head across twelve guests, with eight breakfasts included.

Availability is thin at the top. For 21 October the engine flagged "Only 1 Room Left" on all four villa types on Gemilang, and "Hurry! 2 Rooms Left" on the Condo 2-Room. The other condos and the apartment showed four or five.

A worked family trip at today's prices

Take two adults and two children, one midweek night in October, visiting both parks:

  • Room: Condo Family Studio at RM189 (sleeps four, two breakfasts), or Condo 2-Room at RM239 (sleeps six, four breakfasts)
  • Tickets: two adults at RM114 plus two children at RM98, RM424
  • Car park: RM3.50 per entry, the rate the resort charged when we checked in September
  • Total: RM616.50 with the studio, or RM666.50 with the Condo 2-Room

The same trip on 7 September's MATTA rates, in the Condo 2-Room, came to RM568.50. The end of the fair pricing therefore costs this family RM48 to RM98 a trip, and RM68 of that is tickets. On today's rates, the Gemilang plan still takes RM196 off the Staycation price of the same Condo 2-Room night, which would total RM862.50.

If you would rather stay at the hotel than in a condo, PARKROYAL A'Famosa Melaka Resort runs its own Family Getaway package, which bundles meals with Safari Wonderland tickets for four. Now that an adult Safari ticket is RM65, a package that includes it is worth pricing against a condo booking before you choose.

The fine print that will actually trip you up

Redemption closes at 3.30pm. Both parks run until 6pm, but you cannot exchange a prepaid e-ticket after 3.30pm. If you arrive at 4pm, the afternoon is lost.

The entrance date is locked. The ticketing page says the date you select is non-changeable and non-refundable, even though it also prints a validity date of 1 April 2027. Read the date as binding.

Both parks close on Tuesdays, except on public and school holidays.

Water World's add-ons cost more than the ticket. The Water World page lists lockers at RM30 or RM50 rental plus a RM20 refundable deposit (RM80 plus RM20 for a third tier). A cabana is RM120 plus a RM50 deposit on weekdays, and RM180 plus RM50 on weekends, public holidays and school holidays. Against an RM39 or RM49 ticket, a dry bag is the better buy.

afamosa.com still has a MATTA page. The page at afamosa.com/matta-fair was still live on 30 September under "Matta Fair Super Jimat Deals", and its artwork sells a ticket and park line-up the checkout does not. Only the ticketing checkout and the booking engine carry current prices.

Gemilang Gateaway has no published end date either. The MATTA plans were withdrawn without notice, and nothing on the engine says how long Gemilang will last. It has held the same villa prices for more than three weeks, but that is a track record, not a promise.

Who should book now, and who can wait

Book now if you want a villa for a group. Gemilang takes 50 to 54 percent off the resort's own public rate on the three 4-room pool villas, with breakfast for eight included, and only one of each was left for our test date.

Book now if you wanted the Condo Family Studio during the fair. It was unbuyable then and is RM189 now.

Nothing has changed for you if you are a senior, an OKU visitor, or bringing children to one park. Your ticket costs what it cost during the fair.

Consider the RM319 annual pass if you are an adult who will do both parks three or more times before the pass expires.

Don't rush if you are an adult planning a single visit to both parks. It is RM114 now, with no combo and no promotion on the ticket card, and a fair price can return without notice just as the MATTA one disappeared.

Getting there and practical notes

A'Famosa Resort is at Jalan Kemus, Simpang Ampat, 78000 Alor Gajah, Melaka. The main line is +606 552 0888, and reservations are on +6019 668 9067. The nearest railway station is Pulau Sebang/Tampin. About half of the park estate is under cover, but the safari is largely exposed, so check the forecast and pack a raincoat.
