> Re-checked 19 September 2026 — both of Marrybrown's dated counter offers are over. Kombo Merdeka (2nd combo at RM6.90) and the Rakyat Bucket each ran 17 August to 17 September 2026, and both expired two days ago. Marrybrown's promotions page still tags both of them "Ongoing", and that tag is not evidence of anything: nothing has been re-filed into its "Past" bucket since 9 July 2026. What is genuinely live is the undated standing menu — and its floor, at RM6.20 a bowl, undercuts anything Kombo Merdeka ever offered.
What ended on 17 September, and what still claims otherwise
Two priced counter offers died on the same day:
- Kombo Merdeka — buy a Nasi Lemak MB® Combo at its RM15.90 menu price, second combo RM6.90, choosing from Nasi Lemak MB®, Nasi Kandar, Nasi Ayam MB®, Bubur Ayam MB® or Bubur Pedas. Marrybrown's own card for it still reads "17 August – 17 September 2026". The dates sit in the card body; the tag above it says Ongoing.
- Rakyat Bucket — up to 30% savings on Ayam Goreng MB® with Cheesy Wedges, Chocolate Banana Pie and Fuze Tea Passion Fruit, in 6-pc and 10-pc buckets, in Original and WOOOAH! The website card names no window at all. The campaign poster prints "17 Ogos – 17 Sep 2026".
The stale tag is worth understanding, because it will mislead you again next month. Marrybrown's promotions page sorts every offer into Ongoing or Past, and on 19 September 2026 the Ongoing bucket still held nine entries, those two among them. The most recent card to be moved into the Past bucket was re-filed on 9 July 2026 — over two months ago. So "Ongoing" on that page means Marrybrown has not got round to re-filing the card. It does not mean the offer is running. Read the dates in the card body and on the poster instead, and where there are none, assume nothing.
What is genuinely live in-store right now
Strip out the two expired campaigns and seven standing offers remain. Not one of them carries an end date, which is the point — these are menu propositions rather than campaigns, so they survive the turn of the month:
- MB Bowl Baloi — four bowls from RM6.20: Nasi Lemak Bowl, Loaded Potato Bowl, Cheesy Chicken Mashed Bowl and Chicken Mushroom Soup Bowl
- Memang Best Deal — a Monday-to-Friday lunch set in four versions, each size (S) with a Fuze Tea: 1-pc Ayam Goreng MB® Meal, MB® Spicy Wrap Combo, Chicken Burger Combo or Fish Fillet Burger Combo
- Add-On at Any Combo Meal — a five-rung ladder from RM1 to RM5, priced out against the à la carte menu below
- XL Bubur Ayam MB® — upsize the Bubur Ayam MB® Combo, the poster reading "hanya dari RM+3", so RM11.50 becomes about RM14.50
- MB Cheese Banjir — the smoky-cheese range that September's delivery vouchers hang on
- Olé Olé Kombo — either the Olé Olé Bowl (4-pc Soccer Hashbrown, 6-pc Spicy Popcorn Chicken, 4-pc Chicken Nugget, 5-pc Onion Ring) or a Spicy Popcorn Chicken Combo (15-pc Spicy Popcorn Chicken, French Fries (R), MB® Frozen Coca-Cola (R))
- MB Float — Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Zero, Fanta or Sprite topped with a scoop of ice cream
Marrybrown publishes no price for the Memang Best Deal, the Olé Olé Kombo, the MB Float or the Cheese Banjir range — not on the cards, not on the posters, and none of them appears on the menu page either. Deal aggregators have put the Memang Best Deal at RM9.99. Marrybrown has not, so treat that as a number to confirm at the counter rather than a price to plan around.
One date does exist for the Olé Olé Kombo, and it is narrower than it looks. A 9 July to 10 October 2026 window has been reported — but for Genting Highlands Premium Outlets specifically, not nationwide. Marrybrown's own nationwide card says only "available for a limited time". Do not read the outlet window as the national one.
The new floor: RM6.20 a bowl
The old version of this article argued that two RM9.50 combos beat Kombo Merdeka's fixed RM22.80. That still holds, and the Bowl Baloi line beats it again.
Marrybrown's two cheapest full combos are the Nasi Kari Combo and the Chick-O-Rice Combo, both RM9.50 on the permanent menu, both with a drink. Two of them feed two people for RM19.00. But the Bowl Baloi bowls start at RM6.20, so two bowls come to RM12.40 — RM6.60 under the combo pair, and RM10.40 under what Kombo Merdeka charged.
The honest catch: a bowl is a bowl. The RM6.20 buys the food and nothing else, while the RM9.50 combo includes a drink. If you want a drink with the cheap bowl, a Frozen Coca-Cola® is RM2.50 and Vanilla Softserve is RM2.20 on the same menu, so RM6.20 plus RM2.50 is RM8.70 — still under the RM9.50 combo, and still the cheapest full plate in the building. All of these are the menu's own prices, which it states are before the 6% SST it lists separately.
The Add-On ladder, priced against the menu
The Add-On at Any Combo Meal offer gets no attention because it has no headline number, but it is the best standing value Marrybrown prints. The poster is a five-rung ladder, and the à la carte prices on Marrybrown's menu page make its worth calculable:
- RM1 — Mashed Potato (R). Not sold à la carte, so there is no comparison to make
- RM2 — Vegetable Salad (R). Also not on the à la carte list
- RM3 — Potato Wedges (6-pc). RM5.50 on their own, so the add-on saves RM2.50, a 45% cut
- RM4 — Chicken Nugget (4-pc). Nuggets sell as a 6-pc at RM9.90, which is RM1.65 a piece; the add-on works out at RM1.00 a piece, roughly RM2.60 of value on four
- RM5 — Cheesy Wedges. RM7.95 on their own, so the add-on saves RM2.95, a 37% cut
Two things follow. The bottom rungs are the ones with no published comparison, so the visible savings are concentrated at RM3 and RM5. And because the add-on is attached to a combo, it stacks with the combo you were buying anyway — which no expired campaign can say.
The delivery vouchers, and the threshold trap
Two delivery-app discounts are running, both hung on the MB Cheese Banjir range:
- GrabFood — RM7 off a RM25 minimum spend, or RM12 off RM50, reported as running 1–30 September 2026 at participating outlets. There is no code; the voucher is claimed from the app's voucher section. Eleven days left as of 19 September.
- foodpanda — up to RM10 off with the code SYOK10, reported from 2 September 2026, with no published end date.
Where these came from, plainly: the voucher terms are reported by deal aggregators, not by Marrybrown. Marrybrown's own Cheese Banjir card names no dates, no prices and no platform, its corporate press release for the same range does the same, and foodpanda blocks direct checking. The product is verified on Marrybrown's site; the voucher amounts and dates are not. Open the app's voucher tile and confirm the figure before you order.
Now the trap. The cheap end of the menu cannot reach the RM25 threshold. Two Bowl Baloi bowls are RM12.40 and two Nasi Kari Combos are RM19.00 — both well short, so the voucher pushes you to spend more to save RM7. The tightest pairing that clears it at counter prices is a Nasi Ayam MB® Combo at RM15.50 plus a Nasi Kari Combo at RM9.50: exactly RM25.00, which the RM7 voucher takes to RM18.00, a 28% cut.
The second tier is worse, not better. RM12 off exactly RM50 is 24%, and the percentage falls the further past RM50 you go — RM12 off a RM85.90 Family Meal is only 14%. So order up to the threshold, not past it. And remember delivery-app menu prices are not counter prices, as Marrybrown's own menu page warns, with the delivery fee landing on top of the discounted total.
Who this suits, and who should skip it
- Order in-store if you want the lowest bill. The RM6.20 bowl, the RM9.50 combo and the RM1–RM5 add-on ladder all live at the counter, none of them expires, and there is no fee on top.
- Order on GrabFood if your basket was going to clear RM25 anyway. At exactly RM25.00 the voucher is a 28% cut, better than every Kombo Merdeka pairing bar one, and it does not force a specific dish into your order the way Kombo Merdeka did.
- Skip the vouchers if you are eating alone and cheaply. A solo RM6.20 bowl gets nothing from a RM25 threshold, and buying up to reach it costs more than the RM7 it saves.
- Go on a weekday if the Memang Best Deal matters to you — it is Monday to Friday only, and the four sets are all the small size.
Two pages that disagree, and one campaign search engines keep reviving
Marrybrown publishes offers in two places that are not in sync. marrybrown.com/promotion/ is the consumer page, the one with the Ongoing and Past tags. marrybrown.com/corporate/promotions/ is a slower press archive: re-checked on 19 September 2026, its newest entry is *still* the MB Cheese Banjir release dated 28 July 2026, unmoved across three checks now spanning six weeks.
That gap has a live casualty. The Late Night Meal — up to 30% off from 10pm — still sits on the corporate archive with no end date, and does not appear on the consumer page as either Ongoing or Past. Tested again on 19 September 2026, for the third time, with the same result. Treat it as unconfirmed rather than current, and ask your outlet. It was never nationwide in any case: the corporate listing names around 41 outlets across ten states, with none in Penang, Sabah, Sarawak or Perlis.
A second trap is worth naming because it is the one most likely to catch you. Search for Marrybrown promotions today and you will be told about MILO® Striker Meals from RM19.90, with weekly giveaways of MILO® footballs and jerseys. That is the MILO® x Marrybrown Sepak Showdown, and the corporate release announcing it is dated 21 August 2025 — over a year old. It does not appear on the consumer promotions page as an Ongoing offer. A search result that omits the year is not a current promotion.
