We read the published menus of six Penang massage places on 28 October 2026. An hour of foot reflexology costs RM48 at HealthLand on Lorong Abu Siti before 3pm, RM106 at De Villa Spa and RM109 at Thai Odyssey in Gurney. A full-body hour runs from RM77 for HealthLand members to RM400 at CHI in Batu Ferringhi and RM450 at the E&O. Here is what each charges, which prices include tax, and how to pick.

Penang has massage at every price, from reflexology shops in George Town's back lanes to garden villas on the Batu Ferringhi beachfront. The catch is that most of the cheap independents publish nothing. Their prices live on review sites and Facebook pages that are years out of date. So this guide sticks to six places that print a current menu on their own website, booking page or PDF, read on 28 October 2026.

Penang is cheaper than KL at the top and roughly level at the bottom. The same HealthLand menu runs in both cities, and an hour of foot reflexology costs RM48 to RM109 at the chains and independents below. Resort spas on the beach charge RM320 to RM450 for a body hour. Our Klang Valley price guide covers the KL side.

How to choose a massage place in Penang

Foot or body. Foot reflexology is done fully clothed in a recliner and usually includes a short shoulder rub. A body massage needs a private room, and oil massages (Javanese, aromatherapy, Balinese) cost more than dry Thai or traditional massage of the same length.

Read the tax line. This is the biggest trap when comparing menus. HealthLand and Thai Odyssey quote prices before 8% SST. De Villa Spa says its prices include SST. St. Gregory and CHI quote nett prices, and the E&O's spa includes both a 10% service charge and SST. A RM109 hour at Thai Odyssey is really about RM118.

Time your visit. HealthLand's happy hour before 3pm cuts its 60-minute foot treatment from RM77 to RM48, though it adds RM10 at weekends and on public holidays. Thai Odyssey runs a weekday Lunch Retreat, a 30-minute half-body massage for RM49 (usually RM70) between noon and 2pm, with no end date given.

Consider membership if you go often. HealthLand members pay RM77 instead of RM111 for an hour of body massage. De Villa's RM99 lifetime membership saves RM20 to RM30 on every treatment, so it pays for itself in four or five visits.

Check the cancellation rule at resort spas. St. Gregory needs a credit card to hold a booking and charges 50% for cancelling within six hours. CHI charges 50% for cancelling within four hours.

Where we looked

We left out places that publish no current price on their own channels. That includes the cheapest tier of independent reflexology shops and blind-masseur centres around Komtar and Pulau Tikus. Their only prices are on review sites, and you should phone them before going. Hideaway Wellness at Tropicana 218 Macalister is also out, because its own Instagram announced on 31 July 2026 that its wellness services had closed for good.

How to pick

For the cheapest honest hour, HealthLand before 3pm at RM48 is the clear winner, and it lets you choose your therapist's gender when you book. For a reliable mall massage after shopping at Gurney, Thai Odyssey is consistent and open until 10pm. For a proper day-spa feel in George Town without hotel prices, De Villa Spa is the best value, especially with membership. For a beach treat, St. Gregory at PARKROYAL is the cheaper resort spa, while CHI's garden villas and the E&O's L'Occitane spa are for a special occasion.
