> Quick view: KK Murah, 1 to 30 September 2026, prices 50 named products and prints the normal price on every card. Tuesday Value Buy 1 Free 1 is a different campaign: three products, five Tuesdays (1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 September), and every Sarawak store is excluded. Cheapest shampoo in the list works out at RM2.64 per 100ml; the dearest is exactly double that.
Most Malaysian convenience-store promotions ask you to take the discount on faith. A poster shows a price, you have no idea what the item cost last week, and "up to 70 per cent off" turns out to mean one product nobody wanted. KK Mart's September campaign is unusual in a small but genuinely useful way: every one of the 50 product cards on its own site prints NP: RM x.xx struck through, next to the promotional price. The discount is arithmetic, not a slogan.
That makes the list worth reading properly, because the range inside it is enormous. Two of the 50 items are barely discounted at all. Nine of them are cut by more than 40 per cent. Knowing which is which is the whole value of the campaign.
Two campaigns, two different maps
The first thing to get straight is that KK is running two things in September and they do not cover the same stores.
KK Murah Promotion carries the period line 1 to 30.9.2026 on every card. It is a straight price cut on 50 named products, no membership, no minimum spend, no app. The card footer reads that prices are correct at time of printing and subject to change, that the promotion is valid for selected outlets, and that it runs while stocks last.
Tuesday Value Buy 1 Free 1 is separate. KK announced it on its own Facebook page on 31 August with the line "Your favorite BUY 1 FREE 1 deals are back every Tuesday this September", and the campaign poster prints the promotion dates as 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th September. It covers three products and no more:
- Calpis Soda Original or Grape 320ml (the poster marks this "CAN MIX", so you can pair one of each)
- F&N Seasons Chrysanthemum Tea 380ml
- Herbion First Aid Plaster 10's
The scope line matters. KK's own post says the Tuesday deal is "available at all KK MART stores except Sarawak". That is a statewide carve-out, and it applies to the Tuesday deal specifically, not to KK Murah.
KK also publishes no price at all for the three Tuesday items, on the poster or in the post. Buy 1 Free 1 halves whatever the shelf price is, but you cannot work out what you are saving before you get there. That is a real limitation and worth saying plainly.
The nine deepest cuts in the KK Murah list
Ranked by percentage off the normal price KK itself prints:
- Car Perfume Assorted 3ml: RM5.90 down to RM1.99, 66% off
- Oral-B Pro-Dense Toothbrush 1's: RM10.90 down to RM4.99, 54% off
- Pantene Shampoo Micellar Detox & Moisturize 300ml: RM20.90 down to RM9.99, 52% off
- Simply K Plus Dishwash Limau, Ginger or Apple 900ml: RM3.90 down to RM1.99, 49% off
- Simply K Plus Bleach 2 x 1L: RM8.90 down to RM4.99, 44% off
- Sunsilk Shampoo Clean & Fresh or Damage Restore 300ml: RM15.90 down to RM8.99, 43% off
- Super Ring 60g: RM3.50 down to RM1.99, 43% off
- Enaq Klasik Kicap Lemak Manis 335ml: RM5.50 down to RM3.19, 42% off
- Dynamo Power Gel Perfect Clean or Downy refill 810ml: RM11.90 down to RM6.99, 41% off
Two of those deserve a note. The Pantene Micellar 300ml and the Dove Ultra Care Intense Repair 680ml (RM29.90 down to RM18.99) are tied for the largest saving in ringgit terms in the entire list, at RM10.91 each. And the biggest percentage cut in the list, the car perfume, saves you RM3.91. Percentage and ringgit are not the same question, and the list rewards asking both.
The seven items that are barely a promotion
At the other end, these carry the campaign branding but almost no discount:
- Gardenia Original Classic 400g: RM3.00 down to RM2.80, a saving of 20 sen
- Massimo White Sandwich Loaf 400g: RM3.00 down to RM2.80, a saving of 20 sen
- Safi Shayla Shampoo 320ml: RM10.90 down to RM9.99, a saving of 91 sen
- Mighty White Long Sandwich Bread 550g: RM4.30 down to RM3.80, a saving of 50 sen
- Nano Blue Light Atomizer Gun 800ml: RM39.90 down to RM35.00, a saving of RM4.90
- Blinic Antibacterial Soap 3 x 105g: RM6.90 down to RM5.99, a saving of 91 sen
- Sunlight Dishwash Liquid 800ml: RM6.90 down to RM5.99, a saving of 91 sen
None of these is a reason to make a trip. They are worth knowing about only because the campaign artwork treats a 20 sen discount on bread exactly the same way it treats 66 per cent off a car perfume.
Shampoo is a third of the list, so do the per-millilitre maths
Sixteen of the 50 products are hair care, which makes this the section where the arithmetic pays best. Converted to price per 100ml at the promotional price:
- Sunsilk 625ml at RM16.49: RM2.64 per 100ml, the cheapest in the whole list
- Rejoice Rich Soft Smooth or Frizz Repair 600ml at RM16.49: RM2.75 per 100ml
- Dove Ultra Care Intense Repair 680ml at RM18.99: RM2.79 per 100ml
- Sunsilk 300ml at RM8.99: RM3.00 per 100ml
- Dove 330ml at RM9.99: RM3.03 per 100ml
- Pantene Micellar 300ml at RM9.99: RM3.33 per 100ml
- Pantene Hairfall Control or Total Damage Care 680ml at RM23.99: RM3.53 per 100ml
- Head & Shoulders Ultra Men Cool Menthol 650ml at RM24.99: RM3.84 per 100ml
- Head & Shoulders Ultra Men Oil Control 315ml at RM14.99: RM4.76 per 100ml
- Head & Shoulders Smooth & Silky 170ml at RM8.99: RM5.29 per 100ml
The spread is exactly two to one. The Sunsilk 625ml and the small Head & Shoulders bottle are both shampoo on the same promotion, and one costs double the other per millilitre.
The Pantene pair is the trap. Almost everywhere else in this list the big bottle wins, sometimes decisively. With Pantene it inverts: the 300ml Micellar at RM9.99 works out to RM3.33 per 100ml while the 680ml at RM23.99 works out to RM3.53. Buying the big bottle costs you about 6 per cent more per millilitre. Be fair to KK here: these are different variants, not the same shampoo in two sizes, so it is not a like-for-like swindle. But if you were reaching for the 680ml because big bottles are always cheaper, that assumption fails on this shelf.
Body lotion, toothpaste and bleach
The same exercise on the rest of the list turns up three more results worth having.
Body lotion. Enchanteur Body Lotion 250ml at RM10.99 is RM4.40 per 100ml, which beats every Vaseline and Nivea on the list. Vaseline Healthy Bright 10-in-1 400ml at RM18.99 is RM4.75, Nivea 380ml at RM18.99 is RM5.00, and Vaseline Advanced Strength 400ml at RM19.99 is also RM5.00. The Vaseline 100ml at RM7.99 is RM7.99 per 100ml, which is nearly double the Enchanteur.
Toothpaste. The same RM10.99 buys you either 250g of Colgate Red or 150g of Colgate Total 12. That is RM4.40 per 100g against RM7.33 per 100g. The Colgate Red 100g at RM5.99 is RM5.99 per 100g, so the 250g tube is the clear winner within its own range.
Bleach. Simply K Plus Bleach is on the list twice: 1L at RM2.99 and a 2 x 1L twin pack at RM4.99. That is RM2.99 a litre against RM2.50 a litre. The twin pack saves 49 sen per litre, and it is the deeper discount off normal price as well (44 per cent against 39).
Dishwash liquid. Simply K Plus 900ml at RM1.99 works out to RM2.21 a litre. Sunlight 800ml at RM5.99 works out to RM7.49 a litre. KK's own label is more than three times cheaper per litre here, which is the single widest gap between a house brand and a name brand anywhere in the campaign.
Two baskets, same number of items
Six items chosen from the deep end of the list:
- Sunsilk Shampoo 625ml: RM26.50 down to RM16.49
- Colgate Red 250g: RM14.90 down to RM10.99
- Dynamo Powder Downy 2kg: RM13.90 down to RM8.99
- Dynamo Power Gel refill 810ml: RM11.90 down to RM6.99
- Simply K Plus Bleach 2 x 1L: RM8.90 down to RM4.99
- Simply K Plus Dishwash 900ml: RM3.90 down to RM1.99
Normal price total: RM80.00. Promotional total: RM50.44. You save RM29.56, or 37 per cent.
Now six items from the shallow end:
- Gardenia Original Classic 400g: RM3.00 down to RM2.80
- Massimo White Sandwich Loaf 400g: RM3.00 down to RM2.80
- Mighty White 550g: RM4.30 down to RM3.80
- Blinic Antibacterial Soap 3 x 105g: RM6.90 down to RM5.99
- Sunlight Dishwash 800ml: RM6.90 down to RM5.99
- Safi Shayla Shampoo 320ml: RM10.90 down to RM9.99
Normal price total: RM35.00. Promotional total: RM31.37. You save RM3.63, or 10 per cent.
Same campaign, same shop, same number of items. One basket returns nearly four times the other.
The third thing on that page, and it is not a discount
KK's promotions page carries a second heading under KK Murah: DISNEY NEW ARRIVAL. It reads like a third campaign and it is not one. The four cards under it are a Disney Eco Bag reusable tote in four sizes, and unlike every KK Murah card they print no normal price and no promotional period — only a price, the printed dimensions, and the standing footer about selected outlets and stocks lasting. So there is nothing to check a discount against, and nothing here expires with KK Murah on 30 September.
What the cards do print is exact dimensions, which is enough to compare the four sizes properly. Disney Eco Bag (S), 25cm x 35cm, RM3.90. Disney Eco Bag (M), 32cm x 27cm, RM3.90. Disney Eco Bag (L), 44cm x 32cm, RM6.90. Disney Eco Bag (XL), 49cm x 44cm, RM9.90.
S and M cost the same and are the same size, near enough. 25 by 35 is 875 square centimetres of face; 32 by 27 is 864. That is a difference of about one per cent for an identical RM3.90, so the choice between them is shape rather than value — the S is the tall one, the M is the wide one.
The L is the worst buy of the four. Divide face area by price and you get 224 square centimetres per ringgit from the S, 222 from the M, 218 from the XL, and only 204 from the L. Going from the L up to the XL costs RM3.00 more, about 43 per cent, and gives you about 53 per cent more bag. If you were reaching for the L, take the XL instead. If you only want a small tote, both the S and the M beat the L per centimetre.
That is the same trap as the Pantene bottle further up this page. Stepping up a size is not automatically better value, and this month, on both the shampoo shelf and the tote rack, it is the middle option that quietly loses.
Who this is for, and who should skip it
Worth planning around if you are due to restock household consumables: shampoo, laundry, bleach, dishwash and toothpaste are where the deep cuts sit, and a KK Mart is usually closer to home than a hypermarket. Buying the largest size of Sunsilk, Rejoice or Dove on this list is a genuinely good price for a convenience store.
Worth a detour if you specifically want the Pantene Micellar 300ml or the Dove Ultra Care 680ml. Those two carry the largest ringgit savings in the campaign at RM10.91 each.
Skip it if what you had in mind was bread, snacks or the Tuesday drinks. The bread cuts are 20 to 50 sen, and the Tuesday Buy 1 Free 1 covers three items with no published price, so you cannot evaluate it in advance. If you happen to be in a KK Mart on a Tuesday and you drink Calpis, take it. It is not a reason to plan a trip.
Skip the small sizes generally. Across shampoo, body lotion and toothpaste, the small pack was the worse buy per unit in every case except the Pantene pair.
The fine print that actually trips people up
"Selected outlets" is not a throwaway line. Every KK Murah card carries it. KK does publish an answer, which is more than most chains manage: its non-participating outlets list currently names 88 outlets across nine states, broken down as Kuala Lumpur 22, Selangor 19, Johor 18, Sarawak 10, Pahang 9, Penang 3, Perak 3, Melaka 2 and Negeri Sembilan 2. Kedah, Perlis, Kelantan, Terengganu and Sabah appear nowhere on the list, which means they have no exclusions at all.
The excluded outlets follow a pattern. They are captive-audience sites: the Gateway units at KLIA2, Terminal Bersepadu Selatan, KL Sentral, the LRT Kelana Jaya station kiosk, several I-City units in Shah Alam, the Genting Highlands strip and Forest City in Johor. If your nearest KK Mart is inside a terminal, a station or a theme-park strip, check the list before you go.
Sarawak is out of the Tuesday deal entirely, by KK's own wording, not by inference. KK Murah is not described that way, but ten Sarawak outlets do appear on the non-participating list.
Do not trust the homepage carousel. KK's site is still rotating a National Day Promotion banner with the period 2 to 31.8.2026 and a Mid Year Promotion 2026 banner with the period 21.6 to 20.7.26. Both are over. The period line printed on each piece of artwork is the reliable field; the carousel is not.
Everything here is while stocks last, and the cards state that prices are correct at time of printing and subject to change without prior notice. If a shelf price does not match, the printed card is not a guarantee.
You can read the full campaign on KK Mart's own promotions page, and check the excluded branches on its non-participating outlets list. The Tuesday campaign was announced on the official KK Super Mart Facebook page.
